I liked the grooming my dog received, but my dog stayed 6+hrs for a full service grooming with more than half the time in the kennel which is not ok. I also received a last minute rescheduling of my appointment, which led to reschedule my day.

Everything was pretty darn good! Most of the staff is nice/friendly. Paid good attention to my dog and was receptive to my needs. One staff member who appears to be a very no nonsense type person just had absolutely no personality whatsoever. Not even approachable.

We’ve gone to this groomer every 6 weeks for 2 years and our first time late for our 11am, they called us at 11:16 saying they could not accommodate us despite us being down the street and pulling into the parking lot. We begged for some compassion explaining we had a newborn baby and a toddler so the morning was very hectic but we’d be happy to remove extras from our appt - including even the hair cut or deshedding bath, or take our dog back not fully dry - anything to make up for the time. But they would not help us or show any empathy. The manager had the nerve to tell us if we had called in advance they might have been able to shuffle things around, but we did! They never pick up their phone. He explained that they were swamped that day and wouldn’t have kennel space. So I’m wondering how much time in the kennel are these dogs spending. In retrospect, I realized they really wanted a way to cancel appts that day - because again we were asking to reduce the number of services for our dog to make up for the time so we wouldn’t run past our appt time. And we can’t reschedule in the next long time because we’re about to go on vacation and then we are going to board & train our doggy and wanted him to be clean/feel good for that (which is another stressful thought in our minds too). It just really felt like being kicked while we were down when they didn’t have to and it wouldn’t have burdened them at all in the end. Seeing other reviews now with similar stories. This experience really sucked.

Had a horrible experience with the groomer over at petco on western ave. I specifically told them not to take any hair off my maltipoo just to clean his paws , and the hair under the paws and to take a lil off around the eyes to get the tear stains out. I pick up my pup and he was butchered . They took so much hair off his face. Everything was so uneven. Not only that but as I’m driving home he hops on my lap and I felt his nails. They were sharp, like they never been even trimmed or polished. I pulled over to take a closer look. The nails weren’t cut at all and they didn’t even take the fur from under his paws : it was untouched . I didn’t notice at pick up because I was so upset about his face that I didn’t notice. I called them right away and complained , they told me to bring him back. One of the groomers was nice and did his paws and nails for me. She apologized and gave me a refund which I appreciated. However, I have to leave this comment so that no else goes through this. Go to another groomer stay away from this place. Thank god hair grows back.

They did a great job on my dog. But i got a call at 4:35 saying my dog was ready and that they closed at 5:30. It was a really short notice because i dont live close by.

I usually get food at this location, and will casually get my dog groomed when I can't manage to cut her nails myself. I'm nine months pregnant and sent my husband to take the dog to her grooming appointment and they refused to take her because she's on medication and needs a vet release? I've literally never heard of this, nor is it indicated as a disclaimer on the website when booking (vaccination records indicated only). Really frustrated that I'm now having to get ready for a new baby and trying to find a new place to get my dog groomed at the 11th hour.

We took both of our dogs to be groomed here. They refused to do one dog because she was on medication and they said they needed a medical release form from our vet, despite the fact that this is not stated anywhere when booking an appointment online.We were able to get our second dog groomed, but after picking him up and paying, the manager called and started yelling at us, alleging that we had never paid for the grooming and threatening to call the police on us. We explained to him that we had paid for the grooming and could see the charge on our credit card, but he proceeded to call the police anyway. A few minutes later, he realized that we had actually paid for the grooming. Despite this, the manager continued to argue that he had been justified in calling the police because “that’s what we have to do if someone steals” (which we did not).We will never use a Petco groomer again and will avoid Petco at all costs after this experience.

They cancelled my dog’s grooming appointment after being 17 minutes late. I understand that you’re busy during this time of year, but so is the rest of the world. I had ordered multiple services for my dog, so I find it very hard to believe that they couldn’t have moved things around to accomodate my dog with the shortened time frame. I used to go to Shrewsbury all of the time and received excellent service there, very disappointed that the Brighton location is not up to the same standard. I won’t be shopping here anymore.

They always do a great job grooming my long haired dog.My last appointment, I had let it go too long between groomings and the situation got pretty bad. The groomer worked with me to deal with the fact that it had been awhile; They understood how to care properly for a long-haired dog's coat. They were cooperative in working with me on a path forward with the level of matting in his coat that involved as little risk to his guard hairs as possible. Thank you for your hard work.I'm not here to stan for a big corporation but the level of quality and care of the groomers here has always been fantastic. Many of the complaints here don't seem related to the skills of this trained profession and seemed instead focused on the individual attitudes of staff people that happened to be at the register that day.

I was very happy with the work done, and most importantly the care for my pet, I think if she could tell me how she was treated she would say fantastic. She was not a nervous wreck when I picked her up.
