My favorite thing about this place is that all the animals don't stay too long. Most of them were there a week or 2. The last time I visited there were no animals and they've been shipping them in to here which is great. All the animals were extremely friendly. As you can see I liked the cats. My wife and I were thinking of getting a pair but our current living situation doesn't allow pets. When we move then obviously this will be our first thing on the list to get

I found this 1 lb kitten living under my deck, no siblings, mother is an outdoor cat that lives one street away. I managed to trap her and brought her to ARL Oct 18th, where they put her in foster care in order to gain weight so she could be spayed. I adopted and brought her home 4 weeks later and she is such a happy, playful, affectionate girl! Her name is Greycie.I was calling and checking up in her the whole time she was in foster care and ARL was keeping me informed on her progress and when I could come get her. They also sent home her bed and toys that had been hers so she could make the transition more smoothly.The staff here is so friendly and the animals are in large, clean, bright kennels with lots of attention and fresh food. A lady was offering fresh hay and talking to the guinea pigs while I was picking up Greycie.

I went to this shelter on 3/24/2023 to adopt a cat or two and ended up adopting their 5 month old kitten Opal. She has been perfect, a total sweetheart and we love her to bits!For a long time I was looking through PetFinder, calling, emailing, and even reaching out to other shelters within the state of MA. I was even willing to pay transport fees towards cats out of state. I had no luck and most other shelters were overly picky with who could adopt. I understand matching your personality/lifestyle is important but that wasn't the issue, it was mainly the false hope I received with being told plenty of times how I'd be able to adopt a cat that matched right before it'd get adopted the next day. It just started to not feel good how I always got the short end of the stick. I realized I needed to go to a shelter that did same-day adoptions, which lead me to Animal Rescue League of Boston in Brewster.The staff there were immediately welcoming and the general environment felt positive. When I was brought to the area the cats were in, I told them what I was specifically looking for in the cat's personality and they were helpful in pointing me in the direction of a few cats they had, one of them being Opal. I chose her and was able to do the paperwork easily.The adoption fee included her recent spaying, vaccinations, microchip, and a bunch of other things. I was given an ID tag, both wet and dry kitten food, her medical records, and even guides were included on how to take care of a kitten. For the price, everything included was very worth it and the kindness I received during the process was great. It really felt refreshing to finally be able to adopt the cat of my dreams through a much easier process than whatever headaches I needed to deal with before going to this shelter. I really appreciate how this shelter loves and takes good care of their animals.If I ever want to adopt another pet, I'll make sure to come back here.

I adopted a kitty here today!! Her name is Dolce (we've decided to call her Maple, though). She's so sweet and I'm so glad I could give her a home! The staff at the rescue league were so helpful to us and so kind! Thank you for taking good care of this kitty :) She's so sweet and she's already begun to warm up! :)

If I had been given a month to make a wish list it would've fallen short in what I got when I adopted Eeyore. He is the most adorable, loving, cuddly, beautiful, funny, verbal, fluffy angel kitty that I could've ever wished for! Thank you Brewster Animal Rescue League for such a precious gift!

The place was clean and you can see the staff cared deeply for the animals. They let us take as much time as we wanted. We didn't feel rushed at all. They really want to make sure you and the animal are a good fit.

During this past pandemic year, we have had a very difficult time adopting a young cat. After airing our frustrations, the staff at the Animal Rescue League has been most helpful and accommodating, explaining why it's been so hard. We are hopeful we can find a new addition to our family and appreciate the help the staff has given us.

I appreciate this place so much. I have adopted many pets through the years and even had to bring one in. Recently I was able to give back with some pet food for smaller critters and the staff was so very genuine in their appreciation. It makes it all worth it.

Not only did I adopt a sweet pup there , I am also a volunteer ! It’s a friendly , clean and caring shelter that takes amazing care of each and every animal that comes to their facility ! The adoption rate is outstanding ! I’m pleasantly surprised that every time I’ve gone in to volunteer , at least one of the variety of animals( dog , cat , guinea pig , chinchilla , bunny , or farm animal ) have been adopted ( mostly the dogs and cats though ) . I highly recommend you go visit sometime to see for yourself what a wonderful organization this is !

the was a lady who worked there who told us to come to an appointment at 12 in person and the next day told us over the phone to come at 1 so when we came in for the appointment she wouldn’t let us adopt.

I have gotten four of my pets from the wonderful staff at the Animal Rescue League in Brewster MA. I got my dog Daisy, my gerbil Mortimer, and my two guinea pigs Romeo and Juliet. The staff was so helpful and we are looking to get are second dog named Hank.

This shelter takes great care of its animals and makes every effort to find the best home, even if it means keeping them around a little longer. Dawn is awesome. The staff are clearly dedicated animal-lovers and take their jobs seriously. You are well-served adopting an animal from ARL Brewster!

Lots of dogs. Most were already adopted, which is great for the animals. Only 2 cats, and not much space allocated for them. 1 guinea pig, in a small cage.They do great with getting dogs adopted, but if you're interested in cats, or smallies, this isn't the best shelter for you.Staff is nice, and helpful.

Great and friendly staff. They are very knowledgeable about the pets they have. We adopted new cat and they were really professional. They made adopting process really easy. They do have lot of pets. It's a great service they are doing.

My experience wasn't the best. I waited a year for them to find me a dog. They finally called and said they had one. I had filled out at least 15 pages of questions and answers so they knew what I wanted. The dog had many problems including separation anxiety. I was very upset over the whole situation
