I don’t think I’m ever going to Home Depot again. This store is incredibly robust with every little thing you might need (from my amateur perspective, but holy cow they have such a variety of tools, equipment, supplies, resources).Not to mention, the store was very clean, easy to navigate, and my stop to just see if they had what I needed included 3 different very friendly, helpful staff members. This will absolutely be my go-to spot for all my home improvement needs <- I know that sounds corny, but it is absolutely true. I’m so impressed.

Please do not shop or apply to work here. The management team is not a team you want to be apart of. I was shopping here last week, and a manager ; Charles I believe with the dreads and bald spot was talking horribly to his employees. He was very rude in how he told them to handle us; customers and making horrible jokes and and I can tell by the faces of the workers that they’re not happy with his presence there. I have been shopping with Norfolk for almost 4 years now and the store had changed from welcoming to very gloomy. The original team that was there was very helpful and never had any issues with helping me. Now when I go in the store it is very dreadful, things are sometimes out of place, and my wishes as a customer is not met. This store has great potential, but until it can get to that point things need to be changed , and from a customer looking from the outside I can tell this company is not going to succeed unless it fix their issues 😃.

Bought a $17 handsaw. Broke 5 minutes into using it. Went back to return it a couple weeks later, still within return 30 day period, and they refused to accept return because it was used. I told them to keep the saw then and I won’t be a customer again. Good job guys!

I try to shop here as often as I can because it is close by and convenient. However, I have noted on a number or occasions that the staff at the check out registers is often more interested in carrying on conversations among themselves than focusing on getting the customers rung up and on their way. Maybe management should emphasize to the staff that, while they are working, the customer comes first and should be their primary focus at all times. I realize that personal conversations or chatting with fellow employees is something that we all do at work, but as a customer, I would have a better experience if I didn't need to wait for them to finish their conversation before they focused on me.UpdateWell it happened again yesterday when I came in to return an item I purchased earlier that day. The clerk processed the return, but while I was waiting for the receipt, another employee came over and she started talking to him and got in the other computer, focusing on him, and left me standing there waiting for the receipt. When I interrupted her and asked for my receipt from the printer, unbelievably, her response was, “Just give me a minute.” Lucky for me the other employee reached over to the printer and finally gave me the receipt. I think there still needs to be some additional training here.

This is the largest cleanest most well organized store I’ve ever seen in my life and I am constantly at hardware stores!This place has everything you could ever need! Rate down to the tiny stuff that comes in handy. This place has far more than any box store and it’s all easy to find everyone in the store was supper happy and friendly, I walked out into the parking lot and my first thought was to leave this comment.On a scale of 1-10 I give this place a 1,000

This is a petite hardware store with a family owned, small town feel. I give it 5 stars for customer service. The staff greets you upon entry and you won't feel as though they purposely avoid opportunities to help you - like you see often times at the big hardware store with orange lettering :)

Highly recommend this store, especially if you don't have any idea what your doing. I went in recently to buy materials to paint and hang a shelf. I had no idea what I needed, their staff was tremendously helpful and walked me through everything I would need.

The store had a good selection. Most of the associates were help. However, Jada in Kitchen and bath was not helpful and behaved as though she didn't want to work. With the Norfolk employee sign on her chest, she practically acted as though she wasn't working at the facility; stating I would have to order the vanity I wanted another day because that particular bath area was closed. How do you shut down area in a store and the whole store is fully open. If that was the case I wasn't coming back. I'll shop elsewhere were associates have proper customer service skills.Not appropriate and it demonstrates poor customer service skills. She wasn't willing to be helpful at all. What a shame.

I LOVE Norfolk Hardware! They really do know how to treat and take care of us that live and work in the community. I can always find something there that the big box stores don't have and for a reasonable price!

Really bad experience from the moment I walked in! I've lived on Morton street my whole life and Norfolk Hardware store has always been conveniently close and decent customer service. I planned on getting two rakes and some garbage bags and figured I would bring my bookbag to put the garbage bags in to make the walk back to my easier while I carried the two racks. Right when I walked in I was immediately stopped by customer service/ cashiers and asked to turn in my bag. Which I completely understand if that is there new policy but there are no signs out front stating that policy so customers are aware. I also felt that the cashiers wouldn't have welcomed me if it wasn't for the bag that was on my back because of the random conversation they were having when I walked in.Anyway I reluctantly gave them my bag and went on my way to get what I needed, but as I was getting my items I noticed that there were Women with handbags and purses big enough to shove items from the store in there if they wanted. At that point I was pretty upset and when I was checking out my items and getting my bag I had asked "So Why don't you guys check in purses and handbags?". The young lady I had asked the question to had no idea and I could tell she didn't quite agree with it either. Then she directed me to a lady who seemed like the manager who asked me "How big was the purse?" And I stated big enough to fit a garden shovel in. Then she tried to make a joke and simply laughed me off and the rest of the cashiers continued on with there conversations.I completely understand the policy but the store has no signs and employees that can't properly explain the policy/ hold all customers to that policy! All and All don't come here if you don't want to feel like being accused/ suspected of stealing from the moment you walk in.

Great inventory decent prices but I wasn't asked if I need help until I had two handfuls and was on my way to the register. Thanks for taking a break from your little conversation that was so important 4 of you were huddled around together. Dude that helped me with the keys was could though. Some people did their job with a smile and some people just show up. But I love this place don't get it twisted.

I have shopped here several times in the past two years. Store is beautiful inside and out and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They did an exemplary job on their renovations and the customer service is a superb. They keep everything well stocked and maintained. The prices are very fair! I will keep coming back.

Finally got to this place and so glad I did! Great folks, super friendly. A woman said hello to me as soon as I stepped inside. I got the cart I needed, guy who helped me was really nice too and even put the shopping cart I just purchased together so I could use it to bring all the items I just got home (I'm just a few blocks away and I don't own a car). I'm definately coming back.

I could not be more pleased with the service. I was looking for a specific piece of laminate to replace a backsplash. Met a guy at another store and he pointed me in the direction of Norfolk HardwareThe associate was so helpful. Will definitely go there for my hardware store needs.

I went to several other places before checking out Norfolk. I would highly recommend their Kitchen design staff and services. John Leonard is who we have been working with and he has been wonderful!!! I went in not knowing how to design our very small kitchen space, and he came up with a wonderful, cost effective design for our kitchen. He has a great eye for everything and has worked with us throughout the project. We purchased our cabinets and have so far been very happy with the help and services provided.

I spend 3 weeks and 3 different kitchen coordinators (Carla, Erik, Jamara) and was not able to get a simple straight answer on someone to get the measurement or actually take a deposit for the countertops. Call and emails all went unanswered. Dont waste your time with these people.I would like to update this post with good news - Ben from Norfolk Hardware went out of his way to correct this issue and I am very pleased with the results. Excellent customer service. Thank you Ben~!

I went in tonight for a VERY specific replacement screw and was not at all confident about what I was looking for. Not only did someone immediately come over to see if I needed help (Lamar?), in the end 3 guys worked together to find just what I needed. If that’s not fantastic customer service, I don’t know what is. (Guys, if you’re reading this: those lag screws were perfect!)

I was utterly dismayed by the lack of customer service skills in the showroom. If you are ordering anything from this place, you have to call them every day to ensure that they are processing your order in a timely matter.Also, speaking to the manager was a waste of time. He NEVER calls back when his incompetent employees makes an error at the customers expense.As for the hardware store, I would give them 5 stars. The showroom needs the same customer service skills training as the hardware store.

I worked overnight got off early, so I knew I needed a fluorescent light 36 inches. Last time it might have been two years since I purchased two bulbs there. Always buy two it saves the headache. Low and behold they did not have my size. Need to be said "Home Depot " win again! I try to keep my money 💰 in the neighborhood but sometimes it hard too! I know am not the only one looking for those type of bulbs, I live in a big complex I think they took their business to the depot and given up on the neighborhood business. Good thing am still a team player!

Norfolk hardware is going the extra mile to be everything you needed to be. You can always get help, even in taking your stuff out to the car, and they have a very good selection with competitive prices. These guys deserve your support, and they are always improving. If you know the store from even 5 years ago, you owe it to yourself to check them out again. Every time I'm in there, I find myself remarking to some employee or another how great they made the place. Norfolk hardware, you rock!

**Update - Talked to Ben Rosen on the phone. He took care of me and apologized for the situation. He noted that changes would be made. I appreciate him taking the time to hear my concerns. I would work with them again in the future. **This review is for the kitchen showroom. I ordered a kitchen countertop at the beginning of September over the phone. This was a repeat order that I had done the month before. My card was charged and they confirmed that the countertop would be ready in 8-10 business days. I called two weeks later to check on the status and I was told that the order was never put in. It seems that the associate who took the order tried to email me a question (instead of calling) but sent it to the wrong email. This created a crisis for me because the countertop was for an apartment that had a family moving in on the first of OctoberThe one star review is not because of them making a mistake. I can understand that. The one star review is for their lack of follow up. The associate and the manager didn't seem to care to fix the mistake they made. They totally lacked in communication and couldn't tell me when the countertop would actually be ready. I had to chase them down for simple information. It's seems like they have no service recovery plan to take care of a mistake by an employee. They seemed like they could do with or without my business. Even trying to pick up the countertop was chaotic. I was given times to pick I up that weren't accurate which wasted my time. If you happen to use Norfolk, make sure you are on top of them and give yourself plenty of time in case things go wrong.

I was here on 8/3/2021. I called ahead to make sure they sell bicycle locks. I rode my bicycle to the store and walked it inside when the “security” tells me to leave it in the “hallway”. The hallway is the entrance of the store that features two layers of automatic sliding doors. It is not a safe space to leave a bicycle without a lock, hence my trip there in the first place. The “security” persists with me to leave my bicycle unattended as opposed to walking it in the aisle as I purchase my bike lock. I explain to him my last bicycle was stolen for the exact same reason and he persists. I ask to speak to the manager and all of a sudden everything is okay and I can bring my bicycle with me into the aisle to purchase a lock. Would not recommend.

A very big THANK YOU to the helpful, knowledgeable folks at Norfolk Hardware in Dorchester! Water flow in my kitchen sink went from full strength to less than half strength over the course of a week. Asked a local plumber onsite at our condominium complex doing another job if he could come by for a quick look and advise me whether it was an easy fix or a major job; said he would call it in and let me know if he could waive the standard $150 "house call" fee - I never heard back. A helpful but inexpert neighbor was able to disassemble, clean two filters, but problem persisted. I took the sprayer head to Norfolk Hardware over the weekend, and headed for the "Expert Advice" table...and that's exactly what I got. Eddie and Jose played around with it, checked stock, went online, and advised me on a replacement part they said would possibly solve my problem (and printed out the Amazon page for me...) It arrived yesterday from Amazon; easy to install - total cost $12.96. Norfolk Hardware advice: priceless!

I stopped in to return a defective item. The young associate at the counter said she needed to get someone from management. A guy wheeleled up and said they didn't sell the item. I showed him my receipt but he just ignored it. So I pointed the item out on the display shelf. Right away he accused me of not following the directions, so I asked him to show me in the instruction what he was referring to. Then he said "you don't have the box it came in so I can't resell it."I had been a loyal customer for well over a year spending a couple hundred dollars a month. I feel I was sold out over an $18 item!

For years we shopped at the big box store but decided to make a change. Best decision. Mr. Eddie is my go to employee when I’m looking for anything. He’s knowledgeable and goes out his way to explain things or to check with someone who may have a little more info.We are also in the process now of having Norfolk remodel out kitchen and Ailene (showroom Coordinator) was our initial contact in that department. Her customer service was the reason we chose Norfolk. We’ve finalized our design and await the next steps.Do yourself a favor and give Norfolk a shot if you haven’t.

I love this store, the folks are friendly, help with advise and know their stuff...I've stopped using Home Depot. I'd prefer to shop at a local business - and, it's where all the construction, painter folk buy their equipment. If it's good enough for them, it's good for me.

Tried to buy a couple of gallons of white paint but couldn’t find a single price near any of the canisters. Nor did I have anyone help me make a decision of some sort. I suppose the man behind a fixture was suppose to be the person who tells us the prices but never got that far,by the time I noticed his placement I was flustered enough to simply drive to another near by location. If you’re here you should know what you’re getting and find the help to get it done if needed but for people like me sometimes that’s confusing.🤷🏻♂️

Evidently, the place needs more foot traffic. The employees are very helpful. Instead of going to the big box store, I go to the neighborhood one. A couple of dollars more won't make me richer nor poorer.
