Thrilled with my recent experience at Economy True Value. I had the pleasure of purchasing some bolts for a bed, and I must say, the level of service and truly exceeded my expectations. They took the time to understand my project's requirements and guided me towards the perfect bolts for the job, even though my purchase was just a humble $4.

I generally do not post negative comments BUT...I tried to a return a wrench today, that I bought yesterday that clearly was not used. The guy running the store was a HUGE D..K! I was in there twice yesterday because I had a clogged shower drain in my daughter's apartment. Bought several bottles of "Drano" and on the 2nd trip a wrench for pipes, but again I did not use it. See the attached receipt that does not state I cannot return a tool. The "Tool" managing the store made a few snide remarks about running a Hardware store not a tool rental...he dropped a few F-Bombs. I like to shop local but not there ever again.DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DRIVE THE EXTRA 5 MINS TO HOME DEPOT!!!

Have gone to this store for years. Went in today to get copies of keys made and the guy at the desk (haven’t run into him before) nearly bit off my head and was incredibly rude (All I said to him was “good morning”). I’d prefer to support a shop in our neighborhood but in the future would prefer to go to Home Depot or Warren in the South End (prices are better there too).

This place is as good as gold, the employees are the some of the nicest people I ever met. They help you with anything and are always very courteous and nice to you. Highly recommend this place.

Great selection & service. Needed a particular button battery for car key fob. No luck at Walgreens, Home Depot, Target, or BestBuy! Should have tried Economy Hardware first. They had plenty and price was same or less than listing on empty spaces elsewhere. Parking is often a challenge so I don't expect to get close but even at South Bay there's often a walk from parking spot to Home Depot.

Helpful and patient staff who helped me return an item. Although their selection of tools was very limited they did assist me in finding a store that would carry the tools I was looking for. And also provide suggestions; Would definitely revisit if I ever needed supplies for residential work.

They had an air filter that I needed for a friend. They had it and my friend was happy with his freshly filtered air. It was a truly valuable experience.

Great little shop with all the small things you need to get your home projects done right! They carry everything from tools, paint, cleaning supplies, kitchen and bath wares, plumbing wares, moving supplies and lightbulbs as well as offering key cutting services! All the things you need without having to navigate the horror that South Bay Home Depot can be!

Looks like basic light bulbs are now $10 a piece. Was disappointed to see the same exactly light bulbs at Costco for $2. Maybe re-branding of the store name may help with setting the expectations?

They employees there are kind and helpful. I always enjoy shopping there! Perfect place for things you need around the house. They used to have kick ass tool selection but they have changed it. Please bring back more tools?

Very kind and helpful staff! I just moved to south Boston and they've been incredibly helpful in helping me facilitate the construction of my furniture. Some employees will also do side jobs if you need electrical, installation, plumbing, etc. work around the house / apartment.

I walked in to have a couple of keys made, and I was told he isn't making keys today. But he sure could spend a lot of time with the young female customer he was assisting when I walked in. But he couldn't spare a couple of minutes to make me a couple keys, once I was the ONLY customer in the shop. I won't be back.

The people in this hardware store ROCK. They want to help you in whatever way they can so you leave happy, not Bc they are trying to make a buck, but Bc they are good people. They also have everything I have needed as far as tools etc.

Wanted to get a key made, I arrived to the store and it was closed. The hours on the door say open until 7PM. I arrived at 6:30PM. I checked the hours before I left my house to make sure it was open. Obviously not open when it says it will be.

Obviously a much smaller selection than HD, BUT the service is always fantastic. If you know what you need, they’ll always take you right to it.If you don’t, they are super helpful and don’t make me feel like the complete novice I am. Will always come here before I go to HD because the service is awesome.Thanks guys

Small corner hardware store. Plenty of selection - for its size. Call ahead if you absolutely have to have something specific. Parking is a nightmare, but so is anything else within half a mile of here.

Though I was getting help with a washing machine pipe. I brought an adapter and needed to return it and was given a hard time about it. The clerk wasn’t very pleased that I was returning it, I vow to never go back.

The only good thing about this place is convenience. If you don't want to pay almost double the price on most items I'd take the extra 15 minutes and shop home depot.

Went in to ask about a key staff member response was with vulgar language and rude remarks will never go in there again if the owners care they should train workers on how to speak to customers properly
