We used Dog Butlers' hiking service regularly for years while living in Charlestown. Very pleased with the service and felt like our dog was in great care. The two people that always picked her up were either Jenny or Tom, and she grew to love them! They are both incredibly friendly and passionate about the dogs. Great experience all around, highly recommend.

I've known the owners for a while now so when they started up this business it was an absolute no brainer to take my puppy to them for boarding when I was in Amsterdam for a month. They did such a great job taking care of my girl that she didn't want to leave when I got back! Highly recommended and great people in general.

Boston Dog Butlers is awesome! Highly recommended if you want the best service hands down. I’ve never had a more professional and friendly experience. Reagan took care of my little man and I can honestly say he left smiling and looking fresh 🐕✨. Reagan was beyond GREAT and very kind. She did a phenomenal job. I will be bringing my pups back here every time! If you want your dogs looking, smelling, and feeling good. This is THE place!

We have been bringing our dog Rosie to Boston Dog Butlers since she was a puppy for puppy grooming. We love how attentive, accommodating and patient they are with Rosie. Rosie gets really nervous around new people/dogs, and hates being groomed. Rosie was having a fit and refused to get her face trimmed. Cassidy was very patient and kind with Rosie, but decided to continue the following day since she didn't want to make it a negative experience for Rosie by pushing it too much. We've been working with Boston Dog Butlers for ~6 months. Our cockapoo had some bad resource guarding problems when we started working together, and since then the behavior in our dog has been night and day. We had worked with other trainers and behavioralists prior, but nothing has been close to Boston Dog Butlers. We've also used them for sitting while we travel and it has worked out great. Would highly recommend!

I've been using Boston Dog Butlers for both grooming and training for almost a year now. I've been really happy with my experience and the quality of both of these services, but will focus my review on training.I've worked with James and his team on an ongoing basis to help train my puppy, and I'm really glad I have. James is personable, trustworthy, communicative, and very knowledgable. His expertise and thoughtfulness are apparent in all of the training exercises we've done. He goes over and coaches the small but important details that matter in training, like when to actually give your puppy a reward in a training exercise, or the importance of eye contact at various moments. It's been great working with him on these training exercises, and my puppy also can't wait for him to come over for a session.I love that James and his team will come to you and offer a variety of services from training walks to custom training sessions to dog park training. He even helped assess my puppy's behavior at my dog-friendly office so we could put together a plan for getting her office-ready.Thank you James and team for everything!

We have been bringing our dog to Boston Dog Butlers since he was a tiny puppy. Melissa does a great job with him every single time. Melissa and the team are always so excited to see him, and it makes me feel good about leaving him in their care for a few hours at a time! We’ve been extremely satisfied with every haircut he’s been given, and Melissa will text me throughout the appointment with any questions or concerns so I’m totally in the loop. Boston Dog Butlers is my favorite groomer. The staff is very knowledgable and empathetic. Reagan does a great job with my nervous little dog. The shop is well stocked with high quality products. They also offer stand alone services like nail trim. Always a great experience.

I cannot recommend Boston Dog Butlers enough! I took my dog to BDB for his first grooming experience when he was a puppy and we've been going there ever since. My dog is an anxious rescue, but Jamie, Melissa, and the whole BDB team make him feel safe and comfortable. I always know he's in good hands when I take him in for his full service bath. The staff are also incredibly friendly and accommodating, and simply some of the kindest people I've had the pleasure of meeting. They are communicative, professional, and truly care about the wellbeing of the dogs. I moved to the suburbs over a year ago and still bring my dog to BDB because nowhere else compares!

I highly recommend Boston Dog Butler, especially trainer Elkhan. He goes above and beyond for his clients during each training session. Being a first time dog owner I was lost and overwhelmed on how to train my puppy. Elkhan has truly made the puppy process a lot easier and has helped Mila progress so much the last couple of months.

Highly recommend Boston Dog Butlers overall. Pete - the owner - is really responsive and thoughtful and will always go the extra mile to make sure your dog is taken care of. Every team member who has taken my dog for a walk or a to a dog park or on a hike has been friendly, great with dogs, sent loads of photos and feedback, and just generally wonderful. The dog sitting care is top-notch - you know your dog is getting personalized care and attention at somebody's home (shout out to Brittany and Eddie who housed my small monster for multiple days to her joy).I cannot recommend James as a trainer highly enough. He has an impressive blend of theory and practice that makes it so much easier to understand the "why" behind the "what." He helps you understand the levers and reasons behind your dog's reactions, which allows you as their owner to operate independently. He gives you the tools to do more than just parrot what he tells you - he helps you understand the bigger picture so you can continue to bring your dog along between training sessions, and links to videos and useful tools/toys that might help. Plus, the sessions are always fun and he meets you wherever works for you - in a park if you are working on recall or at your home if you are working on reactiveness to doorbells.Also shout out to Jamie who saved my life one day - when they were closed - when my dog managed to roll in horrible, horrible, horrible poo and she gave her a bath (x3 because it was so ground in to her fur) during inventory day out of the kindness of her heart.Thank you everybody!

Run, don't walk, to Boston Dog Butlers!!A fellow dog mom recommended Melissa & Jamie at Boston Dog Butlers Pet Spa on Tremont over conversation at the dog park and, 18 months later, we cannot imagine taking our little guy anywhere else! Our mini Labradoodle is quite sensitive, tends to be shy and significantly dislikes being groomed or brushed in most areas... even by us. He unfortunately had a couple of negative grooming experiences prior to finding BDB which contributed to his fears. As a breed with hair that requires a good amount of maintenance, this has presented quite a challenge.Melissa and Jamie at Boston Dog Butlers Pet Spa have been absolutely incredible -- amazingly patient, kind and caring in each interaction (with both canines and humans alike!). They have worked hard to build trust and rapport with our pup, meeting him where he is and slowly growing his confidence. Their approach is consultative, professional and always prioritizes the dog and their experience, informed by the team's in-depth knowledge and training. They take breaks for play, treats and always make sure he leaves on a high note!We love that we can be confident that they will do a great job aesthetically, while most importantly respecting and supporting his needs and comfort on psychological and emotional levels. This was our first time at Dog Butler and we were very nervous after our dog, Cannoli, received a terrible haircut at another groomer. Our nerves quickly vanished after Melissa sent us progress photos of our dog during the haircut. She did an AMAZING job!!!! She cut her exactly like we asked! We have been getting so many compliments about Cannoli’s haircut and are so grateful for Melissa and the team at Dog Butler. Thank you so much, Cannoli loves it!

Boston Dog Butlers is a great to work with! My 16 month old golden retriever has visited Dog Butlers for grooming for a few months now and always looks fantastic when he returns home. Boston Dog Butlers to the rescue! I have a 6 year old shih tzu mix who was formerly abused, and grooming is REALLY not her favorite. We've only ever found two grooming salons that could handle her shenanigans, Boston Dog Butlers being one of them! The entire team at Dog Butlers has always taken such special care of both my pup and me (worried mom) - they make sure our appointments are at a time when they won't be too busy so my pup is less stressed, and they always give me updates even before she's finished. They are so gentle with her and to my absolute shock, the first time I picked her up post-groom, she didn't want to leave! I am blown away by their service and no longer dread grooming appointments. I never write reviews for anything, but I must say I’m so glad I found BDB that I feel compelled. I’m a first time dog owner of a WFT - high grooming needs and strong personality. I started taking him to Melissa for basic grooming like baths, nails, small trims, since he was a tiny puppy and she’s been great with him. Last week I took him in for a full hand strip and she did an amazing job despite it being a very labour intensive and skilful task (the first two strips were done by a WFT breeder, but Melissa honestly did just a great a job!). On top of that my puppy loves going there and is always happy to return!I also use BDB for my puppy’s walks with Ciara - who has been absolutely amazing with him and he loves her like a family member!Overall very impressed with the professionalism, honesty and responsiveness of BDB.

Boston Dog Butlers has been awesome to work with. They have fair pricing and can be trusted. You meet the entire team on day one to know you and your pup have support for any and all of your needs. We have been training with James who is a dog whisperer. Our pup has fairly high anxiety, and James has been a tremendous help in easing it and also has educated us with tips and tricks to continue his training at home. We could not be happier with their services.

I’m new to town, I came here thinking it was going to be great service bc of the past reviews that they have received. However, just like another customer on here who wasn’t happy with the way her dog looked, I wasn’t happy either. I have a shih tzu. I have never in my life since I’ve had him and took him to the groomers been called in TWO hours to pick him up bc he’s ready. They take at least 3-4 hours. And when I picked him up, his hair looked so choppy, the coat on his body wasn’t how I wanted it, it was way too short even though I showed reference pictures, the tail wasn’t even brushed nor was it groomed AT ALL. I didn’t want to make a scene on the spot but I really felt like they couldn’t care less they just wanted the money. Might I add how expensive it was too, $90+. Maybe it’s because I’m in the city and before I lived somewhere more rustic and the haircuts were around $60, but the work they did was not worth $90+ plus the tip I gave out of courtesy, they didn’t even deserve it. I feel like they barely asked me what I wanted to do, they just took him. My past groomers have been way more attentive. I will not be coming back here. I will show you two different pictures. One from his past groom and the one done by these people. The one where he is wearing the blue scarf was done by another groomer. The other two pictures were done by Boston Dog Butlers. So bad. Uneven, choppy, not even layered, too short on the body, the tail was not even done right, hair on paws was not done right either it was uneven and very choppy like you could clearly see they didn’t try to make it nice and layered. You need to work on the quality of your services. And I suggest taking your puppers somewhere else.

Boston Dog Butlers does an amazing job grooming our dog. We take her about every 6 weeks for a groom, and she looks great each time. We've tried several different groomers, but Boston Dog Butlers is the best we've been to, and we are very happy with the work they do. Our dog is shy, but they do a great job with her.

Eddie has been great with our dog, Goose! She goes on daily park visits and enjoys playing with all her friends. We receive texts before and after pick up, and we enjoy the daily updates with photos of the dogs at the park. Eddie is also great about making sure Goose has enough water after her park visits and will refill as needed.We've also taken advantage of the dog boarding service that BDB offers, and Eddie has been great with watching Goose when we are out of town. I always trust that Goose is in good hands.It is fairly easy to schedule walks/boarding or to change the schedule online. The portal also makes the pricing/invoicing transparent and easy to follow.

Rarely will anyone work with a group of professionals like the Dog Butlers, from the owners, to the managers, to the dog walkers themselves. They are on top of everything, always. They care for our 14 year old little old lady of a dog each and every day and often overnight when travel cannot be avoided. They anticipate needs, keep you totally informed with all the latest tech (their app is simple to use), and provide specialized services (like grooming!). They are full service and fully committed to a job well done. Oh, and they love our dog, they really do!

We needed our Copley to get a quick partial groom (basically, he needed a better quality bath than we could give and a butt area trim to keep clean!) and we were surprised to find so few local groomers offer this service. Luckily, Boston Dog Butlers was happy to accommodate us and got us in quickly! Not only did he come back with his nails trimmed and his butt clean, but he smells amazing, is all fluffed out/adorable, and is just generally beautiful. They were communicative, easy to schedule, and gave us a 40-minute heads up when it was time to get him (and stuck to the original timing promised). A great experience all around and we look forward to bringing Copley back for future groomings.

We are so pleased with the service at Boston Dog Butlers! Our 10-month-old puppy, Arty, always comes back from his grooming appointments with staff member Cassidy looking (and smelling) great! We love that they use all natural products during grooming services. And, they are great communicators about coordinating pick up times. On a recent walk in the neighborhood, Arty sat outside Boston Dog Butlers whining, hoping he could go inside for another grooming appointment! We take his behavior as evidence that their staff members are attentive and loving toward our pup.

We used Boston Dog Butlers for daily walks for the past 3 years and the service has consistently been excellent. The app is easy to use to schedule/cancel walks and make payments, and I enjoy seeing the photos sent with each walk. We've also used them for in-home pet sitting, which has been fabulous (especially for our dog who is so anxious when boarded).
