The two staff working today were helpful, however the store manager (who did not want to provide his name) was HORRIBLE. The giftcard sale was not promoted properly and when asked to correct the mistake the Store Manager would not help. Will be contact corporate offices for a resolution.

It's a relatively new store in town and my first visit there. They have a variety of goods and some foods, mostly quick fix kinds of things no produce and limited dairy products. Definitely a no frills experience but that's expected for the type of store that it is. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I didn't get her name but the young woman that greeted us as we entered was very courteous and had smile on her face. It implied that she is happy with her job that's always a big plus for me, I like to see happy people. I will return as needed for some items I find hard to get at other stores. Hopefully this helps people decide if they want to stop by or not.

Once again they open up more Dollar General stores and they can't manage the ones they already have. The stores are a complete mess. You can't find anything. They don't restock products in a timely manner. I feel the worst for their employees. I think it is very dangerous to have only one employee working at a time. Not to mention how is 1 person supposed to stock shelves and run the register and help customers if they need anything??? I can't imagine that the stores doesn't lose a lot of money from theft. One employee can only do so much. I don't understand why a company would want to keep opening so many stores so close to each other when they can't even keep the ones that they first opened cleaned and well stocked or keep good employees. People get burnt out when they can't do what they know that the area needs because they live in the community and the people who are making the rules don't. I can't imagine that Dollar General pays much more than minimum wage to their managers either. The new stores always start off looking nice with nice employees, but shortly thereafter they don't look much better than thrift store. Why would people want to vote in one more of these stores in their communities only to have another empty storefront in a few more years. Maybe the company should be made to open the next store in an already vacant building in the economically challenged area that they seem to target. They should have someone who has been with the company for awhile and knows what the company is striving for, work with the new employees and managers for at least the first year. Help them with all the difficulties of opening a new business and troubleshooting any issues. I don't feel like Dollar General company cares what their stores look like or how they are running after they go through all the time and effort of opening another store that is not necessarily needed. There are 4 stores within a 25 mile radius of the town that I live in and EVERY one of them is a run down mess and what I feel is dangerous to their employees. I don't think it's safe to only have 1 employee in the store at any time that they are open. I just hope and pray that I don't have to read something in the paper or see something on the news and have to say to myself "I told you so." When someone does something stupid because they know that it seems to be their policy to only have 1 employee working in the store at most hours of the day. This store could be a nice place to shop and a nice addition to the towns that they are in if only the higher up people in the company would act like they care and make a trip to each store and see if any of my claims are right and want to fix them. I know that I can solve all of this by just not shopping there, but to me it's more than that for so many reasons. It effects the communities that Dollar General keeps putting these stores and seems to just walk away after they are open.

I wonder if I can write this review before the clerk staring at me while putting stuff on shelves actually comes check me out. The answer was yes. And it was a different person that finally came from across the store. Not the slowest service I've experienced. 3 stars :p

1. I bought bags of rice here. I should have known better since it was on a shelf near household detergents and cleaners. When I brought it home, it smelled of dryer sheets. I tried to let it off gas but when I cooked with it, it retained a flavor of synthetic scented chemicals and ruined the meal. Food should never be stored that close to chemicals. Most grocery stores use an aisle of toolet paper and tupperware to segregate the item types, if they can't be stored on opposite ends of the shop. Big mistake. I threw all the rice and the meal I cooked away. What a waste. That's time I'll never get back.2. The clerks are friendly and relatable, regular honest working folk. But they are clearly overworked and exhausted which leads to the slow service and the messy store, and likely other problems in the back of the house. Front end issues often filter through and across other departments, so check your expiration dates and be mindful of what you're buying. Be kind and patient toward staff as there may be interpersonal or functional issues within the store.3. The store interior is inaccessible, unsafe, and full of hazards. If you use a mobility aid, have a service dog, small children, or have a disability affecting your physical movement you may have a hard time navigating this store. In fact in some areas it extends into a fire hazard. Aisles and corners are blocked with heavy merchandising carts.4. When I visited the entire card system was down for the company. I always have cash to spend ar roadside stands and local businesses, not at chain stores with branches across the nation. It personally wasn't an issue but some clientele are coming down from the hills and may have wasted their time and gas if they came without cash for their errand.5. It is convenient. For all it's lacking in quality, service, and safety, it is at the very least conveniently located immediately off the hway at Bernardston heading toward Northfield.I'll probably not come here again. After the rice, I am concerned for my health and wellbeing regarding the level of chemical contamination in other more strongly flavored foods where such residues would not be as easily detected. Scary.

Cheap but cute items. Purchased a few kitchen wares and disinfectant spray and the total was a few dollars. Bags (if you need them) are $1.00 each. Whoops.

Shame on whoever runs this place to have ONE employee working on their grand opening day. The register broke down and a huge line was forming. You lost a lot of customers (including myself).

Prices are ok if you know how to shop deals but organization and safety is a problem there meaning there's stuff all over shelf's and in aiels which could cause a bad fall.

Staff was rude. The building is new-home. However the grass that was planted and the turf that was put in is horribly tall.
