Oversized convenience store good place to get small things for a quick stop, some prices are right up there compare two regular supermarkets this place is called shop &save but all the product that is in there is Hannaford which is known better I prefer market basket myself. And as being a former delivery person for these places they're 80% hamburger is made from scratch from leftovers from the other cuttings of beef this is why you are fine this 80% hamburger is always on sale because it is meat that is ready to expire in the deli which is turned into hamburger.

This is a small store but diverse in product offerings. They have typicsl groceries, fresh seafood, wines and spirits, first aid items, feminine products, a bakery, paper plates and culery, with a range of cold items. Its is very clean, includes flower arrangements, and has friendly staff. I was impressed with the quality of the produce and the selection options available. This was a pleasant surprise and definitely worth perusing, if you are in town several days and do not want to eat out for every meal.

If it wasn't for being close to me, I wouldn't ever shop here.The store is dated and not kept very clean. Is it a Shop 'n Save or a Hannaford? I don't think even they know. The employees seem to just go through the motions - nobody appears happy to work there.Like I said, it's close to me so I can grab a missing item in a pinch, but I won't do any substantial shopping here.

Run-of-the-mill grocery store, on the small side, so the selections are pretty limited. The only reason I go here is to pick up items from the donation box for Kitty Angels, a local feline rescue effort.

This location is great for Shopping. Good food very fresh not hard to get to for a location for Food about two minutes from the police station. right across the street from Family Dollar. Overall pricing here for Food is great.

Having recently moved to this area I've tried several bigger stores before coming here. I was delighted to find it as it's an outstanding little supermarket that is very clean and well kept and carries a lot of staples, as well as great fruit and veg. The staff are friendly and helpful and it has a nice homely and friendly vibe. It's really well placed if you're using the station at Ayer as well.

Shop 'n Save is an excellent small supermarket. Everyone who works there is very friendly and helpful. I am always able to find what I need, and I can shop quickly because of the small size and abundance of nice people manning the checkout lines. They also have some really nice premium products made by Boar's Head, not only plenty of deli meats and cheeses but also a lot of Boar's Head items I had never seen, such as bacon, sausage and dips. A fancy store would charge much higher prices for these. I know this from direct experience.Also, they have a beer selection that is far better than an average liquor store. This is extremely convenient.And so I highly recommend that you give Ayer Shop 'n Save a try. You will be glad you did.

The store itself is a small mom n pops neighborhood grocery store. It had everything I was looking for at comparable prices. The store itself was clean, and the staff was very helpful and professional. I personally like supporting such businesses. I would recommend it to anyone.

Deciding whether it smells worse than it looks is not the way you want to shop for the essentials.Essentially, the ‘n SAVE part is just a cute moniker, because almost everything purchased here was was ABOVE market price.Very small floorplan and simply not a balanced selection of products, leaves something to be desired. Maybe nose plugs, trust me: it stank.Next time we are in the area and need to shop and want to save, we now know not to STOP here…The only salvageable part of the experience was the parking lot. Able spaces, plenty of lines for cars and pedestrians to share the asphalt.Smell ya never again, let’s just hope they don’t open another location. I’d sooner go to a Dolla Store, at least I know what to expect!

Place is great.It'd be a 5 star review if the place wasn't smelly 🤣There's a stench. Like. . . Producey. Not like spoiled veggies or anything, but definitely not "sellable".There's just an earthy smell in the joint. I can't quite put my finger on it.Producey sounds stupid, earthy could mean like dirt, please tell if you know what I speak of and have smelt it yourself.Maybe you dealt it.Maybe I dealt it.We may never know.But yea, go gitchya dang ol' groceries here.Usually not busy, in and out so to speak.Just mouthbreath.Which honestly, if I may, if you're here reading my review still, you might in fact BE a mouthbreather and are in goodshape to shop here.Bepis.

I'm utterly disgusted. Today when I went to the grocery shop, I went to the register of a young man, he had on a white hat backwards. He gave me my money after ringing up my items, but he placed the paper money in my hand in a way that made it seem like he didn't want to touch me, whichi thought was weird. He then turned around and dropped the coins on the counter for me to pick up, while my hand was still there! I was utterly stunned. I spent a lot of time living in Ayer as a black person, so this was totally wrong!

Not a large store, but if you like to shop without a huge crowd, this is your store. For a store this size, they have a wonderful selection of goods and they sell beer and wine. They have a great selection of Boar's Head, and a great meat selection. Prices are definitely competitive. Wonderful store to have in the neighborhood.

Best place to buy food in the area. This is where I go when I need to stock up because the prices are good, the selection is good, and they're always adding new things to try. It's not a massive grocery but the staff takes excellent care of the food and the customer. Even during that crazy food rush at the start of the pandemic their shelves were always stocked and I never was stuck in long lines. Ayer Shop n Save is an asset to the community I highly recommend.

Great family owned grocery store. They have the best produce & meat in a 10 mile radius! Employees are always helpful & go out if their way to make sure you get what you need. This is the only grocery store that I physically go into it's always clean & the staff are absolutely wonderful!

Excellent shopping experience. Very friendly and helpful employees. Reasonable priced groceries, but limited in selection. Beer and Wine selection and prices the best around. Good bakery and deli section, especially the boars head cold cuts. Produce section good, but could use some improvement in checking for spoilage. Overall a great place to shop local.

I mean it’s okay but seriously I tried to get hamburger for a recipe but I couldn’t find a one pound package for the life of me. I don’t ever remember seeing a recipe that called for.83 pounds or 2.3 pounds or even.63 pounds. How tuff is it to use a scale when your portioning meat? Super let down with the consistency of the meat weight here. Somebody’s gonna miss a bite tonight 😳

Although not the largest of the grocery stores I frequent, it has what I need and at fair prices. The staff is extremely friendly, the aisles are well organized , and because it is on the smaller side you can get your basic shopping done quickly. This is a great 'bread and milk' grocery store.
