The pharmacy in the CVS on University Drive in Amherst is incredibly rude and unhelpful. My wife and I, unfortunately, need to use this pharmacy for our son's formula (he has a milk allergy and we can't get the formula he needs elsewhere). They have, on multiple occasions, miscalculated the amount of formula he should get. When we call them, they sometimes preemptively start yelling at us, as though we had been fighting with them or arbitrarily causing them trouble. I understand that their job can be frustrating, but not yelling at customers is a fairly baseline professional standard.

I work for a local doctor's office and often have to call this pharmacy to clarify/fix prescriptions. Today I spoke with Hussein in the pharmacy and he was far and away the most helpful tech/pharmacist I have ever spoken with. Not only was he very pleasant over the phone but he was very good at his job and went above and beyond to help!

Sometimes the people who work in the pharmacy are incredibly polite, professional, and helpful. Other times the employees that answer the telephone are curt, sometimes hang up, and appear to be overworked.

the pharmacy doesn't really care about your problems. they're cold to you and don't answer your questions. not only that but their number takes forever to reach a person. y'all cannot be that busy i've been in your empty store many times. lazy and unprofessional pharmacists... probably not paid enough or something.judging by the other comments this isn't an isolated or rare experience. fix your store, jesus

This is the worst pharmacy. The pharmacists are rude and seem not to care about the patients. They try to find any reason not to serve you and to let you go without your medicine.

As someone who fills a *lot* of prescriptions, I have to interact with the pharmacy quite often. The staff here are always polite and I feel like I'm in good hands with the pharmacists, who always find time to speak with me about interactions and side effects (even though I know they are often low on staff). Several of my medications have interactions, or make others less effective, and they always check to make sure I know about this at pick-up, even with ones I've been taking for awhile. Whenever a medication change happens, they carefully review it with me to ensure the correct prescriptions and doses are being filled or placed on hold while I trial something new. The drive-thru can certainly get backed up, but I keep my prescriptions at this location because I feel better knowing that the pharmacists are thorough and care about the safety and comfort of customers.

Overall a fantastic experience at the minute clinic. I went in expecting just an ear cleaning, but instead made a friend along the way. Not only that I got my blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate taken as well. The nurse, Emily, who did the procedure was careful and meticulous, making sure I did not feel any pain. There was never a moment of discomfort. After everything was done she sent me on my way, back into the world with a brand new set of ears. Thanks Emily!

The worst CVS I been to. The manager is extremely rude & condescending over the phone all because the pharmacist was refusing to do her job over something regarding my insurance. When I prodded her to do it she hung up on me. When I called & spoke to the manager he instantly sided with the pharmacist before I could even give my side of what happened. He kept talking over me every time I spoke & when I simply asked him to let me finish speaking, his ego made him upset & he also hung up. Very unprofessional.

Friendly staff who are often happy and perky, clean store and well organized store, it is usually stocked up properly, and manager is a nice and decent person.Bathrooms are usually clean and don't have any odors. Pharmacy is clean and look decent, usually understaffed and okay pharmacists.As a whole; one of the only CVS stores in the Hadley/Amherst area where the staff actually care about the appearance of their store and cares for their customers.

Pharmacist did not understand English and was very hostile, refused to call MD office for Medication Error, threw out my medication thinking I wanted a refund then refused to admit she made a mistake and retaliated unfairly against me, lying to the Store Manager who was equally as rude and hostile. Very poor customer service and unkind treatment of someone with an acute injury.

The pharmacy just doesn't go beyond what they absolute have to do, it would be nice if they cared just a little bit about customer service. We drove 30 mins. to pick up a prescription, and called to tell them we would be there just before they closed. We got there a minute before 9 pm and they had already locked everything up. I guess I'm not surprised, this is typical for CVS. I don't know if they are understaffed, lack training, or have poor hiring practices, but it would be nice to have a better experience.

Yes, the pharmacists are overworked and that can lead to delays and even rushing to get customers off the phone so they can fill what i needed RXs. My experience with the store itself aside from the pharmacy has been very positive. Staff are helpful and accommodating, store is clean and organized and the employees are doing their best to make your shopping experience pleasant.

Pharmacy staff so snarky… should have more patience for the ill for goodness sake. Our health is obviously not at our best when we’re at the pharmacy. The last thing I needed was a condescending clerk pushing me thru a line.

The longest pharmacy lines I've seen and they won't open a second register when it's busy. I brought in a prescription and was told it would be ready in 3-4 hours if I wanted to wait. They said it would be that long at another store, but I drove the 10 miles and had it in 15 minutes. On the plus sides they fired the pharmacist who refused to come to the front for a consultation and when a tech gave her my question, shouted my medication info across the store. I'd complained to corporate, so they didn't really have a choice there. And parking is easy.

I once in the past has gone through CVS pharmacy and I didn't like the service I was getting. Years later, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and give them a second chance. I've had nothing but headache, they don't know what they're doing, and one of my prescriptions (I have 2) got enrolled for automatic refill which I opted out of.Now when I just got my prescriptions just now, they told me that I could only fill one. So I waited for it, and they other prescription suddenly appeared AFTER they told me they only had one.They caused more stress than I should have had. I'm going back to my previous pharmacy and I'll forever be done with CVS.

I arrive at CVS and wait in line at the pharmacy. I get up to the counter and I tell the lady that I have a new insurance card and she tells me, "sorry you have to go to the next line over" No big deal, I moved over to the other line and wait. I get up to the counter and the lady tells me I am in the wrong line and that I need to be in the line labled "Drop off". At this point I am a little frustrated. How would I have known that?! I get in the drop off line and wait. Finally, I get up to the counter at 3:10pm. I am told my prescription is not ready yet. They say it'll be 15 minutes. Ok not a problem. I take a seat and wait there for 50 minutes. Finally I get back in line and just as I am the next customer in line to be helped, the lady tells me: "Sorry I can't help you. it's 4pm and my shift is over" WTF?! A lady in the back says "the boss doesn't want anyone to go over hours."How about hiring more staff then?!I am then helped by another employee and I ask "do you call people's names when their prescription is ready?" They reply "Yes". I then said, " I am the only person waiting there and I've been sitting there since 3:10pm and nobody called my name." I look at the paperwork and see that my prescription was filled at 3:25pm. So I sat there for 35 minutes because someone didn't want to call my name. This is the second time this has happened to me at this location.

Love this place. Staff very friendly and helpful, including pharmacists. In fact, all CVSs in this area seem to have friendly and helpful staff. Pretty good selection of merchandise too. I have been using them for 10 years. I have not experienced the late prescriptions others have described below. I agree the pharmacy staff is overworked. All pharmacies are that way in my experience. My brother-in-law is in the business and says this is a historical trend in the field that has gotten extreme in the last 10 years.

Always a long wait in the pharmacy no matter what time of day.Adjusting to 1 star after today’s visit. I have had my prescription on auto refill since December. They always ask if I want 3 months supply instead of one to which I say no. Last time they filled as 3 months and I requested it to be back to 1 month as I don’t want 3 at a time. Waited forever today and it was 3 months supply again. I tried to explain that I want it for 1 month on auto refill...the staff there was extremely rude and told me I should call ahead to make sure they did it right. I let them know the 2 times I had tried to call with the previous mess up I was on hold for over half an hour and gave up and just came in. In the end they weren’t able to assure me that my prescription would be filled correctly going forward....

I went to CVS last week to ask for them to refill my prescription. I needed a specific brand; however they didn't have it at the pharmacy and would have to place an order for it. I had to wait until the following week, which was fine. The following Wednesday, I received a phone call from a pharmacy agent who stated that my prescription was ready for pick up. I went in this afternoon and got it via drive thru. When I came back home, I realized they gave me the wrong brand. Simple mistake, I suppose (But it could be dangerous to the health of clients). SO I went back tonight to get a replacement. And I came home and found that it was THE SAME ONE THEY GAVE ME ORIGINALLY. Not only do I have to visit the pharmacy for the FOURTH time, I'll have to skip a couple of my doses until they reopen tomorrow and I am available to pick up. I cannot believe how UNPROFESSIONAL some of the employees can be.

Absolutely miserable store manager. Tim was extremely unhelpful and when I attempted to ask him questions he brushed me off. Unhelpful, rude, and downright mean. I come here to try and pick up necessities but I will be changing that! Don't come here

Every single time I use the app to preorder my prescription for the day, they never get it ready. it has only ONE time been ready on time. It’ll say ready at 3pm, I’ll go in at 7 PM and they’ll tell me I have to wait while they get it ready. Now I don’t mind waiting 5 minutes, but most of the time when I show up, there is no line and the pharmacists are standing behind the counter doing nothing. It would take 5 seconds to throw my prepackaged prescription in a bag and have it ready. I don’t understand why this is a recurring problem. It’s a pharmacy for Christ’s sake.

The pharmacist are very rude. They rush you off the phone, they hang up without saying bye or assure you that they heard your request...etc... In person, they don’t acknowledge you and have a nasty attitude. One more time this happens, I’m switching pharmacy.

CVS does not know how to use CVS Caremark insurance! Charged me $80 for a free prescription that I needed. CVS Store did not even submit to CVS Caremark. Caremark said the store needed to refund us. The store did not refund because I opened the prescription that I needed and had already taken!

This pharmacy is so overworked and understaffed. They're all good people, but they can't ever fill things on time and they're out of what I need half of the time. And the computer system seems impossible. I hope CVS expands this store and hires more staff.

Dont even attempt to call because by the time tou get in your car and get to this CVS you will still be on hold. Unless your lucky to get one of the younger girls or the older woman with an accent the helpers are rude...to say the least. This CVS pharmacy could care less about its 'patients'.

The Manager Tim is extremely rude & unprofessional. I’ve been to dozens of different cvs’s and this one is the worst. And who ever the pharmacist was that answered the phone was just as rude. She obviously hates her job & takes it out on customers.

Script called in at 10 am, called cvs at 5 to make sure ready since it’s a box, don’t need to count pills. Friend got there at 630 and was told it’s not ready - need another 1/2 hour? This is about the 4th time, never an apology. Never going here again

Their pharmacy is awful! My CVS app will say that the prescription is "being processed" for hours/days and then when I finally go down to this CVS I have to wait 15-20 minutes! I have no idea what is going on there, but I will be transferring my script to another CVS.

Gave me the wrong prescription! Bag was labeled correctly but the contents inside were completely different and had a different label. Not a generic, looked it up and it’s not even for the same use. Thank god I noticed otherwise I could have gotten VERY sick.
