Love that place they have everything I need for gardening! Bought bags of black decorative mulch and the salesperson rang me up and put the heavy bags in my car. Now that's service!

They always have my dog's Blue Seal dog food and someone is always available to carry it to my car for me. It's difficult to find retailers who carry all of Blue Seal's products so I am happy to make the drive from South Hadley to get what my dog needs from a local business.

I haven't had a need to buy anything there in a while but stopped by the other day and was charged $53 for a concrete chimney block. Yes, fifty three dollars. It happened that it didn't work for my purpose and returned it. I was charged $5.00 for restocking or handling. I have never been charged for returning anything at Home Depot or Lowe's. Guess where I will keep on shopping? Certainly not at Amherst farmers supply if I can help it.

Great selection, a real supply store (since 1940's!) worth visiting. We go here & to other owner-operated hardware stores BEFORE going to Big Box stores.

They have good wares, but my repeat experience has been poor customer service. I don't go to a farmer supply store expecting great customer service. At Amherst Farmer Supply, my role is to hand money over and get out. If I ask for advice, ask questions about what I'm buying, or ask to buy something that's been put away, the staff are rude and make it clear that I'm inconveniencing them. I'll switch to Tractor Supply in Greenfield.

Paid for half a yard of stone dust, and paid about double what it would be at Megan's Valley but Megan's Valley was closed. What the guy dumped in my truck looked short, and when I got it home and measured turned out it was. Instead of half, it was less than a third. Called and asked for some money back and they said they actually sold me half a bucket-load. What a rip-off. Will never go here again.

These guys know what they are doing. I recently went to buy metal roofing and was challenged with the length I needed. They had me sketch the structure and then helped me understand snow load issues as well!

This store has been around for over 60 years they have everything you could use for raising your cattle sheep horses pigs the staff is extremely knowledgeable it is one of the best country stores to go to for Farm and Home Supplies
