When I adopted my first dog, Pippin, a hound mix from TX, I was looking at possible training classes to attend. MJ’s dog training academy kept on showing up as a good option via their reviews, being local and their ability to communicate and accommodate. As soon as I walked in, I was blown away by the kindness and enthusiasm I received from MJ and the rest of the staff. I have never felt so sure of a decision I made with my dog since I adopted him. MJ and the staff here are very knowledgeable and what they say really makes a difference! From the first class, Pippin was really nervous and couldn’t get along with other dogs as much (barking, whimpering, pulling, etc.) but has now since been one of the best and most eager to learn pups I have ever seen. MJ and the rest of the staff have such a passion and drive to help my pup excel and develop. I couldn’t be much happier with how my dog is progressing! I highly recommend this place!

I very recently adopted a lovely Doberman who needed a charm school. I was being really really picky bc of her breed (lots of macho “alpha roll/offer a correction YANK” trainers out there) and not wanting to feed the negative Doberman stereotypes with harsh training. I am a dog nut and so is my friend Andrew (highenergydogcare on socials) and he was taking classes at the Pet Academy and invited me to audit one. Man, I am so glad I went. MJ is everything a trainer should be. Calm, fun, and confident. Knowledgeable is a given! My dog in just two classes has blossomed and bonded both to myself and MJ. Granted she is a smart dog (your mileage may vary.) I feel so lucky we found MJ’s Pet Academy. I feel so close to my dog without feeling like training is a drag or something she might get punished for if she got it wrong or didn’t get it right away. The philosophy is fresh and modern. The space is big and cute. The price is the best. Class size is fantastic. I can’t wait for class tomorrow!

I have been to many of trainers that cost a lot of money to get my dog trained and nothing worked .. until I seen MJ dog training academy her prices are affordable . I stated going few months ago I have a German shepherd that was very reactive to dogs I was ready to give up . My first lesson with MJ my dog was trying to attack the stuffed dog now I’m 3 months in maybe less and my dog is perfect I can bring him to dog parks , walk him around the neighborhood and also start bringing him to group classes worry free!! I really recommend going to see MJ she is amazing and totally changed my dog now I can be more confident! Thanks MJ

I highly recommend MJ's for training and grooming. I've had many dogs in my lifetime, however, I was not ready for my little Pom/Chi pooch. She's been a handful from the start and another local trainer was no help at all until we went to MJ's. Group trainings has helped and they are great with grooming my little Daisy. They always make her feel special and loved. Definitely 5 star.

When we first started here our dog couldn’t even be near another dog. Now she’s able to play with other dogs! We now do the sniffs class and our dog loves it! She’s great and always positive! Grooming is great also! Highly recommended!

Was looking for a new groomer and MJ'S was recommended by a friend and I was not disappointed. Friendly staff great service very affordable was very happy with my dogs cut. Can't wait to go back in 6 weeks. 👍

MJ's was highly recommended to me when I got my puppy. The first time I took my dog they did a good job. They said my dog kept moving around it was hard to cut his hair but they did it and he looked pretty good .Another appt was made for 6 weeks later and this time they couldn't cut the fur on the legs cause he was moving around alot. He had another appt at the beginning of May the girl who cut his hair said she couldn't do it because he wouldn't keep still. It looked awful. She suggested i come back when MJ was there so I made another appt to have it fixed. I went to the appt and MJ was suppose to fix his face and it looked worse. When i went to pick him up i could hear him barking. The elderly lady that was behind the counter told me it was my dog. I asked where he was and she said he's in the room behind her and he was by himself with the door closed and lights off. I was furious. THIS IS A PUPPY. She told me my dog was a menace and it was a dangerous situation for the employees and for my dog. I told her to go get my dog and bring him to me. The elderly lady left and had someone else bring my dog out. The other girl came out and said MJ was busy and couldn't come talk to me.

MJ's has been an amazing experience! We have been trying to work with our adult rescue, who is very anxious in new scenarios and when being handled (at the vet, getting groomed, etc.). MJ has been a beacon in working with him, providing invaluable insight and recommendations - it's been amazing to see him make progress! MJ's knowledge of dog behavior and methods of training are outstanding, and our dog now gets excited when we ask him "Do you want to go see MJ?!" Couldn't recommend MJ's Pet Training Academy more!

MJ's is the only place I will take my dogs to get groomed even though its about a 40 minute drive from my house. Melissa is always very attentive to my dogs and ensures that they are always comfortable. Keira is a 13 year old Siberian Husky who hates water and having her nails cut but she always gets the best care with Melissa. I would highly recommend to everyone.

I highly recommend MJ’s Pet Training, at the beginning Ares, my husky was a very excitable dog who just wanted to play with the other puppies and didn’t follow directions. Initially he was so restless and could barely learn a thing in class. Melissa was very patient, and she was able to get and keep his attention. By the end of class, he was calmer, he was able to learn and actually tired out. Melissa has wonderful tactics; great techniques and she is natural with dogs.

I recently had a terrible experience with another groomer who made my puppy look like a rat with a choppy haircut and was super nervous about getting him a haircut again. After reading a few reviews, I decided to give MJ's a shot and am very happy that I did! MJ's was extremely professional and listened to my concerns. They did everything I asked and made my Yorkie look like a perfect teddy bear. I highly recommend it here and will be back again and again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I have been bringing my dog to MJ’s for over 3 years. My dog is not a people lover and he gets very defensive when others dogs are around. Mj from the beginning has made my pup feel comfortable. My dog gets so excited to go to Dog Wash Wednesday that he does not even eat breakfast. My dog gets excited at the sound of her name. If you haven’t tried dog wash Wednesday yet you don’t know what you are missing. 10/10 would recommend!

MJ is amazing! My Aussie gets excited just seeing the sign into MJ's and when he see's her he simply can't contain his excitement. He loves going and when you talk to MJ you can tell she loves each and every one of her pups she grooms and looks after. Whenever I pick up my doggo he's exhausted and cut amazingly. Reminds me of the first day we took him home when he was just a little pup. I highly recommend her to anyone that's looking for pet training or grooming. She knows her pups!

MJ’s helped my dog and me so greatly, it made life easier—- simple things like taking something out of the dogs mouth or touching paws was a huge problem with being snapped at. She did customized training as well as group training with my dog! You actually get more out of one of her classes than you would from a retail store class. Well worth the investment for both you and your pets!

MJ is amazing! She was able to help my baby boy Maxwell and my baby girl Taffy and they had very different problems. Taffy had been attacked and needed help understanding not all pups are jerks. Maxwell was afraid of his own shadow and for some reason my brother. Taffy is making new puppy friends and Maxwell has more confidence than we ever thought possible. MJ knows what she is doing and genuinely cares about those with four paws and two feet.

Melissa is amazing. My dog Tatum absolutely loves her. He started out taking training classes and has now been going to daycare there twice a week for almost two years. I’ve seen so much improvement and would recommend her to anyone!

I cannot speak highly enough of Melissa and her staff. We send our two boys (one a Sheltie and the other a Golden/Border Collie) and they always come home so well cared for. Our mix breed is high energy and can be high strung but the staff never fail to not only get him looking great, but to love and assure him as he whined and whimpers (and barks). They truly do care about every animal and the service always sends you home with a smile!

I have been seriously considering changing groomers. Last week made my decision easy .She had his harness on when l got there ( which is unusual).when l took it off l noticed he had been cut under his front leg. The harness hid it. Never mentioned it. Also a friend of mine who l recommended to go there , left in tears after the way the groomers Mother was so rude to her. SO THATS IT FOR MY PUPS .& ALOT OF THE PEOPLE I SENT THERE WILL BE LOOKING ELSEWHERE. SHE HIDES IN THE BACK ROOM ALOT.

They gave my yorkie a bath, cut his nails, and cut his bangs. Said he was difficult. He's 6 yrs old and has been groomed his whole life . Charged full price .it's close but not worth it for me .Maybe you'll have better luck.

Been coming here for about 3-4 years now. Have a dog that is a level 2 detection dog as well as level 2 obedience.Just got a new puppy, she is going there too. Wouldn't go anywhere else, fantastic training program!
