No cashiers after 10pm. Self checkout only and we have to pay for bags. This is getting out of hand. What sort of sick dystopia are we heading toward. May as well give every customer a W2 if you are going to make us do the work. Self checkout is useful if you have a few small items, but this is just getting obnoxious.

Nina in the bakery is a rockstar. She decorated a beautiful cake for my coworker’s surprise birthday party. The cake was moist and delicious. Really appreciated the decorations and extra care.

This Safeway is just so exceptionally mid. Never any carts or hand baskets. Staff is nice enough. Feels like a lot of things I can find at other Safeways are usually out of stock.

Large assortment of grocery and health and beauty aids. Store was recently reset to accommodate even more products and more space was made for existing products. Staff friendly and helpful.

Shady marketing practices in the meat department.Outside of the meat prices being grossly inflated, they have slowly been replacing their USDA Choice beef with USDA select and are charging well above market rate for Choice for Select meat. They need to have a separate section for these subpar cuts of beef (reasonably the trash can or dog food aisle). They often intentionally mix the Select (which is of inedible quality) in with the Choice beef so the customer doesn’t notice and grabs a lower quality product. The prices are roughly 300-450% over the value of the beef they are selling. For example, USDA select Boneless Ribeye is 19.99/lbs, the same price as choice (for comparison, USDA Choice of higher quality is 12.49/lbs at Aldi up the street). They’re asking for 10.99/lbs for their USDA Choice short ribs, when The Fresh Market sells USDA Prime short ribs for 9.99/lbs just next door! Whole Foods has similarly priced beef to Safeway, but offers actually edible beef. Avoid this store and it’s incredibly shady and deceptive beef pricing practices.Edit: Their response asks me to submit an official complaint with the store. But I already did that weeks ago. I submitted a complaint and they sent me a generic response and never followed up on the issue. I posted these photos weeks after the issue was never addressed by the Safeway customer service team from an internal complaint nor after this review was posted on Google. Consider how Safeway’s customer service would treat any of your concerns or returns if they gaslight customers and give responses with no follow up or action behind them? Do you want to shop at a store with zero responsibility or accountability for their actions???

Clean, nice looking fresh produce. Seafood & butcher are awesome! I requested The already busy butcher to slice my steaks thinner. He was not agitated when I interrupt his work. Thanks so much. Reminded me of when I was a little girl shopping with my mother!Customer service helped me locate a digital coupon via my phone. My coupons took my total from $160 to $73!! What a Safeway to shop😇

Very clean store with a large variety of products. Prices are really good. The produce, deli, bakery and meat departments are awesome.The aisles are big and nicely laid out. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Produce is plentiful, well presented and clean. Large selection of nuts and trail mixes, lovely meats with great sales. Shelves are stocked and the variety is good. They do a better job rotating produce and dairy products than some grocery stores.

My biggest gripe with the store at this location is the failure to keep green wire ties available in the produce/veggie dept. I can go in, day or night, and it’s crickets with the ties. How hard can it be to have someone dedicated to replenishing the ties? A reflection of poor management. (SECOND REVIEW): It’s been some time now - and the situation has _NOT_ improved! (3rd Review - Still waiting…..)

As I've stated before, the Towson Safeway on York is the closest & whatever issues iay have with managerial procedures, the people who work there are OUTSTANDING! Every one I have met acts like it's their store and want to help you to their fullest ability. Excellent experiences.They have installed more self checkout stations & all works well.

Very impressed with their vaccine process. Signed up online to receive both Covid booster and flu shot. Very easy to do on website; got appointment for same day. Nice separate office space for giving shots. Only waited a very short time. Shots didn't hurt. And got two coupons for 10% off groceries! Will definitely go there again for vaccines.

I’m so excited. Safeway has installed new refrigeration throughout the store. I love it. Upgraded quality for the shoppers. I’ve never had a bad experience at this store. The staff are always helpful. The floral department is great. Their roses last and are beautiful. Yay Safeway ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Don't buy your fresh meat here. The meat on offer here is VASTLY INFERIOR to the quality meat that can be had at better nearby stores like Whole Foods or Fresh Market. The meat here is often lesser quality instead of prime cuts.Safeway charges way too much for the vastly inferior cuts of meat on offer. Too often steaks for sale at Safeway are a deep nasty brown with a faint odor suggesting they are just on the edge of going bad. If you are on a fixed budget and will eat the meat VERY SOON AFTER PURCHASE TIME the meat might be fine to eat. However the meat is so close to the verge being unfit for sale so I would not bother freezing it for later consumption.This Safeway is not entirely bad but it is only adequate under the best circumstances. Bags of onions routinely have at least one rotten onion hidden away inside. The quality of Safeway brands can be suspect as I found pebbles in my Safeway branded rice on more than a few occasions. The inconsistent or all together lack of quality control is the REAL problem with this Safeway.Safeway can always be counted on taking the cheapest possible alternative even when the resulting product is incredibly overpriced yet far inferior to similar equally priced offerings at far better quality grocery stores some within walking distance.Safeway used to be a great store with quality offerings in almost every department. Now Safeway stores offer some good food but their house brands, onions and meats especially steaks and chicken are barely a few levels above garbage when last I checked.

I had to pick up my brother. Then he wanted to go to Safeway . The store was clean and welcoming. We went to the deli first. The young lady April was very helpful. Very friendly and took good care of us . Her energy was welcoming . She really made my day . Tell her the salad was good as well. 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟 🌟 for April keep being great . One more the the ladies that were making the flower arrangements. Tell them everything looks beautiful . They were busy they didn't see me. But it was okay I was looking at the beautiful flowers. Loved this Safeway! Clean and very organized. Large aisles. Great produce and meat selections. Came for a deli platter that we had ordered for a bridal shower!Easy to get into the parking lot, easy to leave!!!! Love love this Safeway.

I typically come to Safeway because they have good member price deals. I know that right now prices are going up for various reasons, but it looks like this location has been unable to keep up with updating the prices listed on the shelves. About half the items I bought today rang up for higher prices than on the shelves.If you're going to raise the prices in the system, you need to update your signage. I ended up spending about $30 more than anticipated when looking at prices in store.I've also yet to find any decent cuts of beef at this location in the past few months, but I've chalked that up to supply issues for now.

They carry this double crunch Fried Chicken. It is horrible. I don't know who said it was a great idea to do double crunch Fried Chicken. It might be okay if you serving it hot right away at a restaurant. But once it sits in the heating on Ben and you getting home. It's not a good thing. They need to change that and reevaluate. Other than that the store is nice and clean and the staff is friendly.

It is always a pleasure to shop very early. I am aware that the store clerks are restocking. They are helpful if needed especially since the shopper must also double as the cashier. However, while restocking, it is important to organize boxes. Safety is important. Boxes must be situated out of the way of shoppers as best as possible.

I love this Safeway because it used to have an awesome discounted foods section. It was also my go to place whenever I was hungry. What I don't like is the employees always act like it is a bother to ring up the discounted items because they need their approval, which is not the customer's fault. Giant has its discounted items scan like any other item, no intervention necessary. Therefore, if they can do it, so can Safeway, or kill the attitudes about scanning discounted items.

Surprisingly the store is nice. Especially considering the location. I was really satisfied with the help I received from the cashier near the self checkout lines. My money got stuck in the machine that was malfunctioning and she was able to give me back my money without any issues. Other than that store has just about everything I need.

Great pharmacy; great personableness. Great variety of foods. Great hot food section. Monday cooked chicken specials. This is helpful. I can skip a couple of days without preparing food. Great location off the beltway. Lots of parking and very convenient.
