Very tasty local goods! We tried the honeycrisp cider and were amazed, considering we have a lot of local orchards ourselves that we enjoy cider from regularly this season. The brownies were delicious as well. Looking forward to trying more fruits and baked goods soon! Also, the area is fun with a nice view and some cool Fall decor.

pick you own or just buy fresh apples, berries pears, peaches, plums, cherries, pumpkins, and even flowers that are in season. Delicious baked goods, pies, jams, canned fruits. Plenty of parking, restrooms available. Highway next to it can be very bus y and fast so take your time to merge or joining the road that leads to Westminster.

Stopped by on a whim after having passed it many times. Small market with mostly apple products including but not limited to apples, apple donuts, apple butters, cider and apple slushes. Some produce and a few other fruit options. Bakery area had some pies, cookies and breads. Canned/jar goods. A few odds and ends stuffed animals, magnets, etc. They do have pick your own apples and a tractor that will take you to the orchard. There is a small flower field and playground for the kids. If you like apples, this is a good place to check out. I didn't pay attention to prices so I can't speak to that OTHER THAN specialty pumpkins, they had a decent selection and they seemed very reasonably priced.

October 28, 2023 - The Catoctin Mountain Orchard offers a rich family tradition of “ Apple picking” for all those who stop in with their family . . . for over 62 years! Our family with two active little grandchildren enjoyed themselves for a good 2 hours on a gorgeous autumn day along Rt. 15 in Maryland! The open air market started in 1948. Later in 1961, Bob Black & Patricia ( his sister) purchased and operate the 100 acre farm . It’s an amazing success! Bob earned the Apple Farmer of the Year Award in 2020, even has licensed a delicious Gala Apple !Once you select & pay for your apple bag, your family is loaded onto the tractor pulled wagon, and transported to the picking fields. They point out the rows of different types of apples that are ready for picking! Choices include the following apples:Pink Lady, Honey Crisp, Gala, Stayman,Courtland, Empire, Fuji, Evercrisp, etc.I noticed a new growing technique. . . Apple trees tied to a wire, like wine grape vines!Called “ size-controlling root sticks”! Amazing . . . the quantity of apples per tree grown in a confined area, no need for tall ladders! 🍎 👍🏼👍🏼We had a bag full of apples in 10 minutes!Plenty of time to walk around and explore the play land for kids! Don’t miss their market with fresh baked apple goods! The pies looked delicious! My wife tried the apple slushy, yummy ! Other fruit choices included:Peaches, Blueberries, Apricots, Pears, Grapes, Strawberries, Rhubarb, etc. They grow veggies : Kale, Broccoli, Cabbage, Peppers, White / Sweet PotatoesSo many jams, preserves, apple butter, etc.Their hours 9 am to 5 pm 7 days a week!(Closed February, March, April)

Have been coming for fresh produce since I was a child, now I bring the kids here. The most gorgeous views, apple picking, build your own flower bouquet, and a great play area for the kiddos. The market always has fresh local fruits, veggies, eggs, and dangerously delicious baked goods! Definitely worth the stop!

We had a great time picking our own apples and visiting the store. We bought a chicken pot pie and some apple dumplings which were both delicious. We will definitely be back next year.

The store is set up horribly, very cramped. I was standing waiting my turn to get some apple cider donuts and when they put some out on the table someone that wasn't waiting walked up and grabbed all the containers as soon as they were put out. The pumpkin pyramid was cool.

The fruit, veggies and fresh baked pies are the best. Easy in and easy out. Plenty of parking. Credit cards are accepted too. Pies are baked fresh daily. Excellent selection of honey and country items. A must visit spot in Frederick county during the fruit season. Remember to take your camera for beautiful outdoor pics!

I picked my own flowers. It was amazing! $15 for a bunch. I was able to get a lot for my money. They provided clippers. The shop had all sorts of fresh baked items and seasonal treats. I can't wait to go back again!

Love coming to Catoctin Mountain Orchard. They carry a wide variety of produce and fruit that comes right from their farm. They have a beautiful selection of fruit pies, breads, pastries and cookies that are baked on premise. They also carry local meat and dairy products. You can pick your our fruit and even cut your own flowers. Friendly and helpful staff. This place gets really busy. Parking can be a little tricky sometimes.

This place is Great! It was our second year going to pick apples. The experience is great especially for children. You can literally pick off the trees and choose your fresh fruit! They also have a pumpkin patch with many unique pumpkins to choose from. The General store is beyond Amazing with Pies, breads, butters and cider galore. Everything we purchased was delicious beyond measure!

This market is pretty nice... Very organized with fruits, jarred items (jelly, pickled goods), fresh baked pies, some veggies but not much, zook's frozen meat pies, frozen pies, jerky,... I wish it had a larger selection of fresh vegetables. The prices are pretty reasonables. I spent over $60 on 1 fresh peach pie, 2 frozen meat pies, some small pears, 1 apple dumpling, 1 large jar of apple sauce, 1 large jar of marinara, 1 jar of jalapeno eggs, and 2 zucchinis.

We had a great visit to Catoctin mountain orchard the first weekend of October 2020. The staff were very friendly, and there were lots of apples to pick from. It was a tad too crowded for my comfort, even though 98% of people were wearing their masks over their mouth and nose. It was nice to take a wagon ride to the orchard, but I wish they had limited the ride to fewer people so the wagons weren't filled seat to seat. There's also a small playground for kids that was pretty popular. And the market has lots of delicious pies breads jams butters and apple cider donuts.

We try to stop here whenever we are passing through. We've picked apples in the past. It was so much fun. The kids love it and the apples and cider are amazing. We picked a basket of apples this time around and took them home to NC.

The word is... Flowers!! Beautiful, colorful, healthy flowers, from zinnias to cat tails, they're all available for cutting and taking home. Get them before August scorches them! And don't forget to buy a delicious apple pie and some Amish chow chow! I love this place! Can't wait for Fall!

The Catoctin Mountain Orchard's make the hills of Thurmont Maryland even more beautiful than they are already with the miles of fruit trees that they grow and maintain, the rows of flowers in fields surrounding their buildings and the rest of the land that make up their orchards. Luckily when you are traveling on 15 north or south through Thurmont you can't miss them thanks to their big colorful billboard. When you do visit as you can see from my pic's once inside you can expect to see a plethora of fruits, vegetables, crafts, jarred goods, pies, breads and other homemade and natural goods. I do recommend when in Thurmont or if just passing through stop bye and visit the crew at Catoctin Mountain Orchard.

During Off Season, open only Friday-Saturday-Sunday.As we walked into the market, the smell delicious fresh baked pie and apple cider donuts is all over! Have you tried freshly baked apple cider donuts? One wouldn’t be enough, get at least 6! Get donuts with a sip of apple cider juice? Yuuum! 😋 We also got blueberries lemon buckle pie, it’s so delicious with crumbles on top of the pie, and blueberries jam inside, all are melting in crunchy, sweet and tart deliciousness! These homemade frozen pie also available in the fridge, so you can get the fresh baked anytime at home without the huss and fuzz of messy dough.Different kinds of butters, jams, and apples are available at your choice! All are homemade! Can’t wait until the farm is open all week long and you can walk into the orchard picking apples!

If we were into picking our own fruit, we'd come here! Their shop is great for preserves, certain fresh fruit (apples and pears in the fall!) and vegetables, gourds and pumpkins, and butters (like apple butter). We don't come frequently, but we have loved every purchase over the years! Try the Vidalia onion relish!

This is a wonderful little market to visit when in season. We typically go in the Fall, when the apples are ripe, the pumpkin pyramid is assembled, and the apple picking tractor is revved up. The best deal here are the boxes of seconds, which you can turn into all kinds of recipes. Some of the prices have gone up significantly (namely the baked goods, especially the pies), but overall it's still well worth the drive up 15 to enjoy the scenery and fresh produce.
