I have never experienced such a horrible pharmacy!! When you call, they leave you on hold forever, then pick up the phone and put it immediately back on hold--multiple times--and never actually answer. These are people's medications for their health--this is absolutely unacceptable. I have called corporate about this issue but I have not seen any resolution. My new pharmacy cannot even get someone on the phone so that I can transfer my prescriptions from this awful pharmacy!!! This place needs to be shut down because it essentially operates as if it is.

Walgreen's at 1329 University Blvd E, Takoma Park, MD 20912 is a mess.For the past several years the pharmacy service has been terrible. The drive-thru takes so long it's really not worth the time. The staff ignores the drive-thru working with patient after patient as we look on from our car. Not fun. Now, in-person, they are very polite, it takes a while, even with no wait however. BUT, calling to check on prescriptions and the pharmacist actually checking their VM for call-in prescriptions is abysmal. It's so bad that my doctor's office has a note that if someone is going to this particular Walgreens they need to call and tell them to check their voicemail as they've had so many patients told the medications were not put in, when they indeed were.Further, when I attempted to call the store manager to complain of the pharmacy phone issues, "Nancy" the assistant manager told me she would help solve the issue. She then put me on hold and again I was disconnected. I called THREE MORE TIMES and was placed on hold and disconnected each time. When I finally went to the store, she claimed I only called once and she transferred me to the pharmacy so it wasn't her fault I got disconnected again. Then her and a staff member began laughing and talking in Spanish to one another.Walgreens needs to do better or they are going to lose a very critical group of consumers. We don't have hours to spend waiting around for other professionals to do their jobs properly.

Wow! I called to ask a simple question and was met with an immediate hold. Then 2 pickups and holds. Then disconnected. I wanted to see the ratings on service here. I'm on hold right now as I'm writing this and decided to see the ratings while I listen to the music. Fun times!

The lady at the window spent 25 minutes checking me in for a covid vaccine. I am not kidding, it actually took 25 minutes! Not to mention waiting in line for 15 minutes. I had an appointment, I don’t have any medical history, and I have one of the major insurances. I can’t believe I was standing in front of her for 25 minutes. I have never met such a slow person in my life!

Store is clean enough no complaint there. I went for a singular item and I guess the cashier register needed cash but no communication was there to let me know there was a wait or to even acknowledge me. After 2-3 minutes being the only person and line only communication made was the price. At that point just have a self checkout if the cashier is going to be just as robotic.

I was at this location Saturday 04/03/23 around 1:15 PM to purchase a skin care. Because I couldn't find the the item I asked the woman at the register to show me where to find it. She looks so tired and no will to help me. I came to spend I should be treated like a king. As I tried to see other reviews this location employees needs proper customer treatment.

Terrible, I was trying to call to get the status of my Prescription and I was put on hold immediately without proper phone etiquette or even a hello. I would hear the hold music for about 2 minutes and the phone started to ring to notify them someone was still on hold and all they would do is pick up and put the phone back on hold. I was on Hold for a total of 47 minutes; that is outrageous! Once someone did answer they were fairly rude when I asked who the pharmacy/ Regional manager was. I would say find yourself another pharmacy if you want proper customer service

This location lacks customer service. I sat in the drive thru line for over 40 minutes to pick up one prescription. It always take forever. If you don’t push the call button, they will not come to help and will just be ignored.

Edit, one year later, to add-DO NOT GO HERE. I thought things would get better after all the covid shortages. It’s gotten significantly worse. The incompetence is unparalleled (processing my daughter’s meds with MY insurance not hers, and arguing with me about it, telling me a medication has been ordered, multiple times, only to find out weeks later, it hasn’t, responding to every single issue with “it’s not our problem, call your doctor.” And it’s not like you can call anyone here to resolve any of these issues; someone will pick up the receiver and place you on hold without even answering… and do it over and over and over again. You will never get through to anyone. I have waited up to an hour multiple times, no luck.I don’t know what’s going on over there, but if you actually want to get a prescription filled, go somewhere that will actually do it. Avoid this place.Old review-This used to be my favorite pharmacy, with quick turnaround time and friendly staff. The staff are still friendly, but everything else about it is absolutely horrible. It seems as though they are egregiously understaffed, and that makes for significant wait times. I highly recommend avoiding this location at all costs.

This pharmacy is a joke. Medication is hardly ever ready on time. You’ll get a text/email/call notifying you that your meds are ready but when you go to pick them up, they’ll tell you it’s not ready. Without a reasonable excuse. The drive thru is horrible too. Set aside 1 hour if you decide to use their drive thru. Seems like the tech helping customers inside is the same person handling the drive thru costumers as well, and usually there is atleast 3-4 people inside the pharmacy. So I don’t get it. Most of them are rude and look annoyed. Just be blessed you have a job and make sure you do your job. That’s all!Honestly I had hopes for this location...sadly they fail.

This Walgreen’s takes longer to fill a prescription, than any other I know. I changed my prescriptions to another Walgreens.Although I need to drive almost ten miles, it’s worth it to avoid the aggravation of waiting for a prescription to be filled.

The worst customer service you can imagine, and it is dangerous to be in this place. Lets talk about the customer service first. I just came here to ask for some change, they immediately said no. I've said okay, how about if I buy something do you still give change? The cashier lady rolled her eyes and said " we don't do that." Then walked out of there and they are very rude. About two months ago, a customer got attacked with machete over a dispute. The worst part of it is there was a security guard at the scene. He did not do anything about it, and the customer has sustained some injuries. The attackers have simply ran away and not captured.Avoid this place at all costs.

I was told last Friday that I could pick up my prescription on Sunday. I arrive Sunday,and was informed that I could not pick it up yet because the insurance company said it was too soon. I asked if they had definitely received the refill order from my doctor and that the insurance company issue, ( which they did not seem to know about on Friday) was the only problem. They assured me that, yes, they had received the order and that I had to wait until Tuesday due to the insurance company. I then arrive Tuesday evening, and I am told that there is no refill order from the doctor in the system,. It was after 6 pm and so my doctors office was closed and so I am out of luck.

I can't believe the lady in front was taking care of the people inside, I was on the phone and she was the one how put me on hold over and over again for 30 minutes I SAW HER WHEN SHE ACTUALLY PUT ME ON HOLD ignoring my callthis is ridiculous.

The WORST pharmacy. Why offer appointments for COVID testing only thru the drive thru if the wait is over 1 hour. Finally got up to the window where i waited 20 minutes with no one checking in or even having the courtesy to excuse them not assisting. Schedule a test elsewhere!

This place has the most dumbest drive thru set up ever. So inconvenient when you cannot get down to get your medications due to covid and there are 2 semi trucks making it difficult to drive up to the window. Currently looking elsewhere for my meds. Am sure they will not miss me.

I suggest that you rethink about whether you go to this crappy place. I recently bought some grocery that each and every one of them was passed their expiration date. I am sure that you neither want to eat nor would like to drink something that is totally rotten. As far as I am concerned, no chance in hell I am gonna go to this low rated rather unprofessional place. I would like to point out that I gave them a call regarding my issue and they responded with the following " all of the other products that I did not buy, which are the same kind of items that I bought and that are on display and in their fridges, are all passed the expiration date!!! ". To me, that was shocking and totally stunning. So, not only me who was and yet still is in trouble but all of the other customers that are gonna buy the same products such as the ones that I bought!!!

Let me start off by prefacing something before you come to this Walgreens. This is the central healthcare hub for many people that live near by. A lot of the migrant central Americans are lining up to to go to the pharmacy here or the CVS across the street as cheap,fast healthcare advice for things like colds to impotency (I've seen it). So if you're coming to drop something off at the pharmacy you're going to be waiting in line with a lot of folks using the pharmacy for triage care. If you must come here, do it during off peak hours. I live so close it's the best option for me and what I usually do it wait until I know the after work rush has finished.Most of them will let you in front of them in line if they think the person behind the pharmacy counter doesn't speak Spanish. But it's very busy all of the time because of this and the staff response to this ranges from angry and irritated they have to "deal with this" to genuinely caring and listening to people. Some of the staff realize the importance of their job and take it very seriously.

Moderna Vaccine waiting time took over two hours. Pharmacists constantly running back and forth around their desks looking for materials. Computer software was giving staff a hard time. Patrons were confused as to which line was serving moderna or Janssen vaccine.

Don’t come here for a covid tested. I waited in the car line for nearly an hour. Montgomery County clinic on Dennis ave had no wait when I went with an appointment as well superior service.
