when I'm in the mood for sum Dodah's, this is one of my spots. plus the tabouleh salad is on point as well. the produce is half price when using an EBT card. don't have to be a member to shop here either

Friendly helpful staff. Great area. Place is always busy so may have a little trouble parking. I frequent this spot because they are the only store in my area that sale Vegan Boca Nuggets. They also have E Life items for a cheaper price. *Be sure to check all expiration dates on items before purchasing.

A beautiful co-op. Super friendly and helpful staff every time! Love the bulk section! They have a lot of variety throughout so you can find most necessities. My complaint is the high prices. I can’t afford to shop for most of my groceries here. They do have a produce deal for EBT users which is a plus.We especially love the fruit basket on the way out for a farewell (free) treat🍊

Prices are a bit high but you can find some unique items not found in a typical food store. The have added beer and wine in the last year or so and have a decent selection of local beers. Sometimes the vegetables aren't the freshest, but they also sell whole bean coffee with a dozen or more different ones from around the world. Just saw some moldy blueberries. They have fresh Feta cheese.

The co-op is one of my favorite places to shop for local fruits and veggies. Their products are organics. From makeup to wine and beer.Parking is easy. Staffs are friendly and helpful isn’t a big store but it’s very well stocked. They have wild catch salmon, grass-fed ground beef sausages hotdogs and bacon if you are a meat lover. If not it’s tons of fresh vegetables and seasonal fruits, tofu, and vegetarian options.Local kombucha, soaps, and bath bombs.Samosas, supergirl soup, coffee and local pastries offered daily.I have found seasonal items affordable. It’s my alternative from other trendy organic stores.

Lovely lovely co-op! Small but mighty with everything you need.Very friendly folks, large bulk section, plenty of fresh, local and organic produce & bread. Huge variety of sustainably sourced specialty products. And a lot of vegan ready-to-eat food (from sandwiches to cheesecake!) And in terms of price, very reasonable to me... especially the bulk aisles. You pay for the quality of products:)Co-ops like this should exist everywhere♥️And glad to say they still require masks as of June 2022! :)

Absolutely enamored by TPSS and its bulk goods section which includes coffee, grains, beans, spices, teas, nuts, pastas and snacks. They also stock a lot of delicious pre-made meals and have the most extensive vegan section of ingredients that I've ever seen, both shelf stable and fresh. On top of all this they have an incredible selection of local beers and wines, making this an absolutely solid one stop shop for groceries and home goods.

I have been shopping here proudly for years. It truly is a hidden gem. This place has the best selection of all your health food wants and needs. From organic produce to organic wines, I highly recommend this store and whole foods has nothing on this place. Everything you could want and need from dried fruit to tofu and fresh foods ready made items are here. Their staff are all extremely hardworking kind and knowledgeable about the products(health products etc). They have a really nice variety of local foods, beers, wines, lotions and vitamins. I highly recommend this store for everyone.

With a full selection of most basic staples, beer, wine, fresh veggies, cheese, meats, and vegan friendly fare, the TKPK co-op is our first choice (WF alternative) for groceries. They also have an outstanding selection of bulk goods including peanut butter, and some other very fun/unexpected items. Highly encourage everyone to join and shop here!

I've been shopping at TPSS for over 20 years. I appreciate that simplicity and feel of a local market. There's a variety of fruits and veggies and natural medicine.

Very good quality organic selections, plus many local items. I do about 80% of my shopping here. I wish they had more room for fresh seafood and a carry-out bar. An important community resource. Member owned, but anyone can shop. Members get discounts, but I do wish we would switch to a patronage refund system. Been shopping here for forty years!

I’ve been a member here since I was a teenager. I moved away from the area and joined co-ops in other cities because of my very positive experiences here. When I moved back to this area I immediately resumed shopping here at the co-op. One of the best things about this community is the extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff. If you want to shop local, support local farms and organic produce this is a great place to go!

I want to love this place. But I only find it so-so. I don't understand their care of merchandise, and I don't understand the chilliness of the staff when I interrupt their conversations to ask about something. I've made my peace with the prices, love the bread and some of the fruit - but I have to brave the resentment of half the staff to make my purchases. Too bad - the addition of beer and wine is great; too much cbd stuff and "wellness" stuff have taken the place of food in the past ten years.

Please, for the life of everyone that shops here and for food safety, if the owner/manager see these reviews, please update the refrigeration of the store. Either get new refrigerators/freezers throughout the whole store or find some way to make the store more colder to preserve the food. It is absolutely appalling for the frequency of me finding mold in the prepared foods and refrigerated sections of the store. This is unacceptable and there needs to be a major change.

While I understand this is a Co Op and I always would rather support local before corporations, in this case. I just can't.The employees were very nice. But this review is for the selection and pricing. The selection is very limited. I couldn't find 5 out of the 5 items I needed. I couldn't find much local products either. Additionally, the prices are high. Even more so than Whole Foods. I'd prefer to go to other local stores in the area like Roots and Mom's. Better selection and pricing!

Have been shopping with them for decades. A memeber am i. I'd been there two days prior, but returned to buy a few items i forgot to get. I got in the line of the same cashier that rang me out the other day. I was about to tell her that I forgot to get a few things but didn't, because why shiuld i divulge? What does it matter why I'm back 2 days later? So, as im placing my groceries on the conveyor belt, this cashier told me, " You shop here too much." Bet. She won't have to worry herself further concerning the frequency with which I have faithfully been patronizing this establishment. Will take my business and my money elsewhere. Rudeness ABOUNDS here.

They never disappoint! Such a cute, quirky little grocery store. They have so many things that others don't, which is surprising since they are so small.

Great co-op. Membership price pays off quickly. They have done a fabulous job during this pandemic. You order on line, they notify you when your order is ready and you pick up in their parking lot. Great selection of products and friendly employees.

Very nice store. Tremendous produce and many specialty items, such as really great milk from the Harrisburg dairy and a wide range of gluten free options. Also a rich selection of different Montgomery County and DC ales. Very friendly staff.

I took my toddler to the Co-Op today and put her in one of the shopping carts with child seats. Several times during our walk around the store, if I took my hands off the cart for just a moment, it would spin away with her in it. I brought this up to the cashier, thinking how dangerous it would be if the cart just spun off in the parking lot with a child in it. She was indifferent. After loading up my groceries, I return to the store to let a manager know about the cart. He told me that the carts were new, and therefore there couldn't possibly be a problem, and put the cart back in with the others. Really a shocking lack of care to know that their carts could lead to a child's death.

People are super nice. Great selection. Their sushi is very good and they carry Suneen vegan sandwiches. I didn't give 5 stars because I think some of their produce and merchandise too expensive especially when compared to other markets.

Honestly I'm really surprised at all of the great reviews. This co-op is ok. Most of the staff are not friendly at all, and do not know proper customer service. Clearly the bar has not been set very high by management. The fee for membership is outrageous especially considering the few benefits you receive. As someone who has worked at a food co-op, and visited more than a dozen in the past couple years, this one is last on my list. I think it plays a vital role in the community however, and hopefully reviews like this will allow management to see what's needed to really stand out in the community.

This market has been a premiere location for such a long time. The selections are top notch while the staff are knowledgeable and willing to help. The best prices are to members but I enjoy coming here without membership.

Good co-op. Most items are on the expensive side (hence the 4 stars instead of 5). They do offer good deals on some items, including a fairly extensive wine selection (so unusual for a co-op!). A $100 lifetime membership gives you a 10% discount on your entire purchase once a month.

This is a favorite of the city of Takoma Park. I have bern a member for about 15 years. Their produce is always perfectly good and there is a wide variety of canned, boxed and bulk items. The wine selection is relatively new. I'm always impressed with the way the store continues to evolve in support of the local community.
