We feel so lucky to have worked with Owings Brothers. From start to finish with our garage renovation, Bernard helped us every single step of the way. He listened to our desires to convert our garage to a living space, and remembered things we wanted within the space to give us options to achieve what we wanted. His level of professional detail, insightfulness, work ethic, and kindness made our renovation project much less stressful. About 6 year ago Owings Brothers renovated our primary bathroom. My wife and I love it! This past Sunday I tried to adjust the shower head, and it came off in my hand. UGH. Turned the water off and got in touch with them. They responded on a Sunday night and were able to get a plumber out to fix it on Tuesday morning! Mike the plumber did not make a mess and was even done in 20 minutes. This seems to me to be way above and beyond what most contractors would do. We used Owings Brothers for our basement remodeling project. Originally our basement was a completely unfinished space with no real use other than junk storage. We contacted Owings Brothers to design a more functional space to include a full bath, kitchenette, and spaces for relaxing. They also expanded the natural light entering the space by installing a significantly larger set of sliding doors. Craig, Chad, and the rest of the Owings team were easy to work with and always available to answer any questions we had. They also were forthright with issues that came up and offered solutions that were respectful of both our schedule and budget. We had an extensive home renovation done this year including replacement of our entire kitchen, primary bathroom, numerous skylights and windows, and updated electrical work. All the workers were very skilled, professional and courteous including the project manager, the lead carpenter, the electricians, the plumbers, the painters and the helpers. Whenever there was a question, they responded immediately. The work produced by the Owings team was extremely high quality!In short, Owings did a fantastic job and we are so pleased with the final outcome! Owings Brothers built us a beautiful great room with Master bedroom above back in 2009. They did a great job and were so easy to work with that when we needed their services again in 2019 we called only them.We had a fire in the house and had to rebuild significant portions of it. Chris Owings was at my house the day after the fire to offer advice on how to proceed with the insurance company and emergency response teams. In times like that it's nice to have a familiar face to count on. Working with Chris and many of the same team members from 10 years ago was like working with your best friends. Mike the carpenter and his son Jessie were over every day at the break of dawn to rebuild , Ricky to trim out with loving precision, Steve to make sure the structure is done right and of course Chris to make sure everything is on track and that you are happy. Michael Owings is also great to work with as you determine how to get the most bang for your buck advising on what to include in the final contract. Two other takeaways. You will be surprised when they do work you didn't even ask for because they think it would look better without charging extra. Second and this is hard to find.They will send some of their workers months, years later to fix things that come up from time to time in houses. From start to finish, working with Owings Brothers on our hall bathroom remodel was a great experience. When first meeting Joe, he provided a detailed quote and answered all of the questions that we had. This early process, when we were still collecting bids gave me reassurance that Owings Brothers was the right choice. Once we agreed on the initial aspects of the job, work with the Design team began. Angela was open to our ideas, provided many thoughts of her own, and made time on multiple occasions to go over selection of materials and to review the design. Before work commenced, Craig came to assess the site, review the process, and introduce us to Chad who oversaw things each day. Chad and the crew were very communicative, considerate, meticulous and accommodating. There are many others whom I could call out as outstanding. Owings Brothers remodeled our kitchen, which consisted of gutting the old kitchen, redesigning the layout of the kitchen and installing new cabinets, appliances and island. Additionally, new flooring was installed throughout the first floor, the stairs to the second floor and the second floor hallway and the entire first floor was repainted.We were extremely happy with the remodel, from start to finish. Everyone we worked with was knowledgeable, personable and helpful. The work took about six weeks and the guys were patient with us and our golden retriever. Pet friendly people are the best kind and the guys were always very sweet to Cooper, who has since passed away.Our old kitchen was a bit dated, too dark for our taste and it didn’t function well for us. The new kitchen is beautiful and functional and it is exactly what we wanted. We couldn’t be happier. I started 9 years ago with the Owings team as a carpenter and there is alot to be said about a company that listens to what they're employees have to say. Too many companies these days just see the employee as a workhorse, not showing appreciation. Owings has went above my expectations and gave me opportunities to allow myself to grow professionally. I have been sent out of state to learn how to install shower glass enclosures. I have also had the opportunity to run a handyman division using my skillset of many different trades. We interviewed about a dozen contractors and firms to do our first floor and kitchen renovation in Silver Spring, MD. Owings Brothers was by far the most efficient, resourceful and transparent. We could not have made a better decision and intend to use them again for future projects. Owings Brothers uses a program called Co-Construct that allows you to keep tabs on the job from an app on your phone and a portal website through a browser on your computer. Everyone in their company is trained on using Co-Construct and all activity, purchasing, financials and progress is documented through this application. The foreman loads daily photographs of the work and all questions are answered through the app, so anyone participating in your project can see the documentation. You never have to wait for a response from the company and you can always log on to check on all activity with your account. Owings Brothers supplements this digital communication with a prompt text, email or phone call whenever needed.Our job took about 3 months and was completed on time. John, our foreman was exceptional. He communicated with us clearly, anticipated problems, kept his tradesmen on task and on schedule. His craftsmanship was great and he always left our house as clean and tidy as possible at the end of the work day. Once we got into the mindset of undergoing construction, it was as pleasant a situation as possible. John oversaw the job with obvious skill and knowledge. Also, Owings Brothers provides a warranty on all their work. This causes them to do it right the first time. If not, they’ll come out to tend to any repairs. Doing your homework and interviewing multiple firms will allow you to see how exceptional Owings Brothers Construction is.

This was a major renovation (kitchen and entrance, stairs, flooring). It took a while to get started due to supply chain issues, but they managed our expectations, and planned well. They were very helpful with design. Once they got started, they worked fast, and were responsive to our questions. The entire team was spectacular from start to finish. From being professional to fun to work with, I enjoyed having them in my home on a daily basis for 4 months. The team not only completed a bathroom remodel but also installed closet systems my family loves. On top of that the garage remodel was outstanding and is the talk of the neighborhood. We will absolutely have them back to remodel the kitchen when the time comes as well as the master bathroom. I am thoroughly pleased with the portico that was constructed . From design creation with Joe , to Craig the project manager to Tom the incredibly capable lead carpenter, I can not praise them enough for their professionalism and attention to detail. They are truly a cohesive team who communicate well with each other and with their customer Their work is eye catching. I could tell they take pride in their work . Craig, the project manager, was always aware of what was going on and easily available to me. I have an old home and have had multiple projects performed over the 30 yrs that I have lived there. I have never worked with such great people . Even the office staff is excellent. The project was done in a timely manner according to the schedule that was provided. I did not have to worry about any part of the project. That alone was so satisfying. My neighbors have all complemented on their work and the highest complement to them is when my neighbor said "That portico fits right in , as if it belongs and was always there."
