Visiting the Solomons island for the first time we decided to check out one of the local restaurants. I’ll start by saying my teens are not seafood fans and I’m picky about it myself. The husband will pretty much eat anything. That said, we ordered several different items to try out. The service was good but could have been a little more attentive to refills and removing empty plates.Teriyaki Brussel Sprouts: I’m a huge fan of Brussels. These however are absolutely terrible. The teriyaki is overwhelmingly overpowering. I think if it were just drizzled over then it would have been amazing! These were caked in it. My mouth was left with a salty sweet taste that was hard to get rid of.Fried pickles: You can’t really mess these up they were good.Cobb Salad: My son really enjoyed this salad. It was massive. He had a decent amount to take home for a snack later that evening. Just ask for your dressing on the side because you will for sure take half home.Bacon Burger: Everything you’d expect from a burger. It was cooked just as my daughter liked and she loved it.Bruschetta Chicken Breast: Ugh, I was so excited for this meal and quickly disappointed when it arrived. It was covered in yet another salty sweet sauce. You couldn’t taste anything else. I had 3 bites before I quit. Took the rest home, scraped everything off of it and chopped the chicken up into a salad.Fried Shrimp: Husband enjoyed it. I tried one and it wasn’t my cup of tea. I prefer thinner shrimp that are a bit crispy when fried. I think because this was a thicker one it was a bit rubbery for my pallet.Bucket Drinks: We had two and both were equally fantastic.

I had a group of 7 people and we had an excellent dinner at the Lighthouse restaurant. Beautiful views of Patuxent River and the Chesapeake Bay from the restaurant and the patio area. I had the Ultimate Seafood Platter which included broiled rockfish, sea scallops, shrimp and "Original" or "Angry Style" crab cake. My group tried various specials and the crab cake and all of our meals were excellent. Our server Stormy was excellent, made sure our drinks were full, kept an eye on our table and gave good recommendations. Restaurant was a little pricy but not overly so considering this was a seafood restaurant with amazing views.

We had a lovely time at lunch today. This is a great spot for classic Mid-Atlantic fare. The food was delicious, served hot, and service was excellent. Great views of the adjacent marina. I definitely recommend dining outdoors when the weather is nice. I would definitely go back and highly recommend the place. The crab dip and crab cakes were perfect.Parking: You might not be right next to the restaurant, but Solomons Island has ample public parking that is only a short walk from here.

Great food, great service. While in the area researching a story on disability accommodations in and around Maryland we stopped here for dinner. The cream of crab soup is rich and savory filled with lots of tender sweet crab meat. The spinach salad was huge and amazing (I don’t see spinach salads on a lot of restaurant menus). The Haddock bites were crispy and sweet filled with delicious white haddock. The shrimp wrap was a huge winner too! Great views when you dine outside and excellent attentive service.

We loved this restaurant!! My husband is picky and really enjoyed it! The views were great, the waiter was friendly and attentive, and the food was fantastic. The cream of crab soup is to die for!!! Highly recommended! And my husband really loved the shrimp burrito - it was flavorful and packed with shrimp! Great service, food, and views. We had such great service, we flagged the manager down. Very considerate of allergies, the kitchen even went so far as to track down and read the entire ingredients list for everything they used.The Poke bowl was plentiful and delicious! The haddock bites and dip were a great appetizer, it was a hard decision for appetizers with all the great options. You can't go wrong with their tacos, well priced and tasty.On the drink side, their Irish coffee was great. Ordered a Guinness and was very happy with the pour, done just right.Dietary restrictions: As stated in the review, they checked every single ingredients list for my ginger allergy. Be clear with your dietary restriction and they'll work with you.

First time visiting and it won’t be my last. I came for my birthday dinner with my family. Our food was good and service was as well. I loved sitting by the water outside. Great atmosphere and beautiful to sit, see and eat.They were kind enough to put a candle on my dessert .Thank you and hope to return soon.

We had an amazing server! I think he is usually behind the bar (if I remember carefully) He wants or is a football coach (I do remember that ) anyways , I run the urgentt care and we had corporate down from GA . He was personal , amazing and gave great service! They wanted to give my number to him , but I did not give it (too shy) 😂 . You were amazing! Thanks for a great evening! Everyone had a great time with great food m ❤️ food was fabulous! Everyone around us seem to love it, as well . Triple , quadruple stars! If you need urgent care , ask for Amanda ❤️

Always looking for another good restaurant and this is definitely a list topper!We had a party of 7 and everyone enjoyed the food and the service was "Grande".This does come at a price and my plus 6 were uncomfortable ordering what they really wanted 😞 none the less, a very fine find. Afterwards we walked outside towards the front of Solomons island and there is an adorable ice cream shop on the corner.Kid-friendliness: The Lighthouse Restaurant does have a children's menu.

We ate at the Lighthouse Restaurant later on a Saturday night. Parking was full and filling up on the island in general. We circled back around since we weren't in a hurry and got a close spot. Our server was great and attentive throughout. We ordered the crab dip for our appetizer. It was good. However, it had small lumps of cream cheese that hadn't gotten incorporated into the dip and there were no discernable pieces of crab meat. I ordered the Seafood Norfolk. It was okay. Not a lot of flavor, couldn't taste the lemon in the sauce, I could see the butter, but overall it was bland. The shrimp, scallops and crab meat were good though. I got a side salad and hush puppies as my side. My husband got the Angus beef filet that was on special with onion rings and a side salad. He asked for medium but it was more on the side of well done. He said it tasted very good. In general, we like our sides. We did choose to sit outside as the temperature was cooling off. We had a nice view. Unfortunately, there were flies. There's not much anyone could probably do about that, but it was annoying at times. We did have a couple sit next to us who'd come in by boat and brought their very well-behaved dog with them, so I'm assuming they are pet friendly.

The restaurant is by the water and was beautiful!We went around 2:30 but it was packed!We got the cream crab soup, crab burger and chicken wrap.Soup was like eating heavy cream and I could only finish one third, crab burger was absolutely delicious and chicken wrap was very heavy with chicken loads of cheese, bacon, crab and cream. I took one home. The fries were very crunchy and delicious.Service was perfect! Nice local diner:)

We’ve eaten here many times over the years, it’s been a while since we’ve been and we were looking forward to our evening out. We were met with the young front of the house who had the personality of a toad, and our waitress was far from interactive and pleasant. The good is typically always good, we enjoyed our meal until my husband got finished with his fish taco and found a huge hair -the waitress came over and was going to ask about dessert and my husband said he had lost his appetite and she immediately said I can see why. She took the plate and took it right over to what we assume was a manager, she came back over and handed us our bill-nothing said. Figured he would come over and at least apologize-say here’s a free drink-something-but nothing. Put a real bad taste in our mouth -literally. Won’t be going back for quite a while-

The food here was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent too! And from the time we sat down to the time we left we really enjoyed the entire experience. This restaurant and bar is a must to visit and dine at if you are ever near Solomon Island MD. I ordered a hamburger which was seasoned excellently my spouse ordered a seafood dish which was also delicious. Their drink menu was huge and everything we drank was perfect! This is truly a great place to check out.

The tables were really close together. The service was good and the food was awesome. There were some breakdowns in communication during our visit. The first server took an appetizer and drink order. The drink order got passed to the second server but not the appetizer. There was water on the chair when we were seated, so I was glad I looked before sitting down. They were out of an item but that wasnt communicated until we went to order that item. Overall, it was a good experience but left some room for possible improvement.

The location and outdoor views are the best thing about this restaurant. The service was good, but the food wasn't really anything to write home about. The crab dip was the stand out dish, creamy and hot, with noticeable pieces of crab meat. My friend ordered a single crabcake, broiled, which she said tasted okay, but looked kinda grey. I ordered a burger, medium, but it arrived rare. I still ate it, as I hate sending food back, but the experience was more or less ruined, probably my fault for ordering a burger at a seafood restaurant, lesson learned. I'd probably return and give this place a second chance.

Had a very enjoyable dinner last night. Started with a Crab Tower with lump crabmeat and avocado. Delicious. Hush Puppies are one of our favorites. Dinner was wonderful. Single Crab cake & Salad with grilled shrimp. Everything was very good. Service was excellent, very attentive checked on us frequently. The restaurant was very full but the staff was on their game. Thanks for a wonderful evening.

Customer service was excellent. Food was beyond delicious. I had the crab cake sandwich with onion rings. My fiancee had the grouper with fries. For our appetizer it was a crab dip. Totally price including a 15$ tip was $84. It was worth every penny we spent there.

Popped in here for a wonderful lunch with family. Seafood selections are plentiful, specials are creative and delicious. Drinks were great, my fiancee ordered a "bucket" and while not an actual bucket, it was fantastic and tasty. Service was great and pricing is reasonable too.

We have enjoyed a birthday lunch and anniversary dinner at The Lighthouse Restaurant and Dock within the last three weeks. I would have given 5 stars if our dinner visit was as pleasant as our lunch. Yes, yes, I realize so many are short staffed and the waiters are pulled thin but, if you are there to support the place keeping them employed you want to be treated as if you matter just a little. :-) Thankfully, the food made up for the lack of service we received on our anniversary. The food and ambiance had impressed so much when we celebrated my husband’s birthday there when he asked where I wanted to go for our anniversary I chose The Lighthouse again. I’m just thankful we had such a great waiter the first time because I’m sure we will give it another chance since the food has not disappointed us! So far our family have experienced & enjoyed, fish & shrimp tacos, fried pickles, a Cobb salad with chicken, chicken wings, french fries, some delicious creamy bacon crusted chicken, boom boom shrimp not to mention the delicious, rum chatta ice coffee and bloody Mary’s. So if any of this food sounds appealing to you…give it a try. The back deck is lovely if it’s not too windy/cold but inside seems pleasant as well :-) I hope your first experience is as good as ours and that it was just an off night for the wait staff on our second visit! :-)
