What an amazing meal! I saw the Valentines Day specials and had to make a reservation. They did not disappoint! We had almost every dish on the specials menu (minus the branzino) and they were all spot on! The shrimp cocktail was huge, the oysters were fabulous, and the bisque was beyond words. I ordered the lobster thermador, and my husband and oldest son ordered the filet Oscar. They were all spectacular and the portions were perfect. Both filets were cooked perfectly, as was the lobster. The kids meals were also wonderful and well worth the money. The cocktails were tasty and we ended the night with dessert. We ordered the keylime pie and chocolate creme brulee, again, both were phenomenal. We ordered a 2nd keylime pie. The thing that put the experience over the top was the service. The waitress (I don't recall her name but I think she had a batman tattoo on her arm) was great. She was on top of drinks, checked back frequently, and made sure we had everything we needed. All in all, it was a wonderful experience, especially for a local restaurant. Kudos to the chef and staff. We will be back. Keep the specials coming!Kid-friendliness: They welcomed our kids, and had a great kids menu. The meals were well worth the money and were freshly made. No microwave used! Phenomenal.

SOOOO DELICIOUS!!!! Everything tasted beyond amazing and came out hot and fresh. We sat outside so had an amazing view overlooking the dock as well. It’s a very nice spot to just sit at the bar and drink if you don’t want any food. 10/10 recommend for anything from a casual lunch to a fancy date night. Our sever was beyond friendly and had no problem splitting our check and even split the appetizer we shared three ways. Such a great lunch!

I was here few years ago, I wanted to post my experience, it's definitely a hidden place, the food is outstanding, amazing place to eat Maryland crab food or have a drink with friends or family. I would highly recommend this place. After you are done eating make time to see some beautiful homes with articactual, walk to the Pier, or walk right up to the water enjoy the views, see the bridge. Definitely a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ restaurant...Parking: There's plenty of parking if you don't find close enough parking by the restaurant you can park by the main street enjoy the video of the water and walk to the restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of wheelchair parking to make it easy to walk up to the restaurant and the beautiful views of the pier.

We love this place for a quick date whether it be for lunch or dinner. Offering both indoor and outdoor seating, we’ll usually request a table on their deck/patio to enjoy the beautiful waterfront view. I love trying out new specials on the menu, while my husband sticks with his mahi mahi tacos (which are absolutely amazing). This trip I ordered the pistachio crusted salmon on sticky rice, with shredded veggies, in a coconut curry sauce. The sauce was phenomenal- like drinkable. It was sweet and smooth and paired so well with the salmon & asparagus. I would go back and order the exact same items again- it was that good!Parking: Large, open gravel lot

I wanted to like this place but it just wasn’t great. The hostess and waitress were nice and it was a nice atmosphere with the outside seating by the water. But the food…. Was very underwhelming. Besides the food taking forever to come out, the Old Bay wings I ordered were overly salty and extremely fatty. They tasted like frozen Tyson wingettes that come in the bag and the bones were basically falling apart along with the meat. Overall it was so gross I couldn’t finish it. The fries were good, my husband said his burger was very underwhelming as well and they charge $2 each for things like cheese, bacon, onions etc. which we thought was silly. My daughter’s chicken tenders were flavorless and you can tell the grease they fried it in was old. She couldn’t even finish the tenders and she loves tenders. I don’t know if it was bad day or what but I don’t think we will be back.

My visit to Island Hideaway was nothing short of fantastic! Sitting at the bar, I was pleasantly surprised by the bartender's knowledge and attentiveness to my dietary needs. As someone with celiac disease, finding safe options can be tricky, but the bartender went out of their way to recommend gluten-free and celiac-safe dishes from the menu.I decided on the fish of the day, which happened to be salmon, paired with a side of wild rice and a Caesar salad without croutons. The meal was exquisite, with each component perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor.Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the service, the quality of the food, and the attention to detail regarding my dietary restrictions. I wouldn't hesitate to return to Island Hideaway for another memorable dining experience. Highly recommended!Dietary restrictions: Celeiac safe- they were very knowledgeable about which items on the menu were not only gluten free but also celiac safe and would be prepared without cross contact. This made my dining experience stress free and I ended up enjoying a really delicious meal!

We stayed on Solomon Island MD for a total of four days and this is our favorite restaurant we went to! We had reservations for the Hideaway before coming to the island but the owner of the bed-and-breakfast we were staying at told us how amazing this place was so we really were looking forward even more so to our upcoming dinner reservation. When we were arrived we sat right away and received the best service in the world! The atmosphere was great and they had both indoor and outdoor seating right on the water. The food was our absolute favorite of all the places we ate the food was the best on the entire island! The pasta is all made from scratch right there in the kitchen and all the meat and seafood we were told was local caught / kept. Did I mention how incredible the food was because it truly was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. If this place was closer to our actual ho,e we would eat there every day because the food is that good!

I had the seafood platter with the fried haddock, shrimp, & crab cake balls. It was okay at best, the fish had no flavor & the crab cake was just ok. The coleslaw was also flavorless. I was very disappointed based upon other reviews I had seen online. I've had much better seafood in Colorado than this place had to offer. The atmosphere was nice, but the waiter seemed like he was hurried & didn't have time to even take our orders. It was an okay experience, not horrible but I wouldn't go back again.

Positive:The atmosphere is amazing, especially when the weather permits outdoor dining. Right by the marina and allows great views in the evening.Negative: Staff were dressed in odd attire for the atmosphere, some wearing workout clothes and sneakers. Upon arrival two staff members were arguing at the hostess stand and during our escort to our table.Definitely would benefit from a better or more experienced restaurant manager.Food was nothing to note, not good, not bad, but for the price should have been great!Best thing overall is the location and back deck dining in good weather.Parking: Plenty of off street parking

Our server went above and beyond for us while dining for lunch last Thursday. I wish I remembered her name but she was brunette and our table was a reservation under last name Holmes.I came to visit from Savannah GA but I was born in Clements and met my best friend from there and her niece. We devoured the Homemade Crab Dip, the homemade lasagna was wonderful and fettuccine Alfredo. Her niece loved your kids Mac and Cheese. It tasted homemade too. The grand finale was the Cheesecake and Chocolate cake ! Delicious 💓 The restaurant is right on the water and if it wasn't so cold and rainy we would have enjoyed sitting outside too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HIDDEN GEM ! Thank you for making our time together so special!

My wife and I, we find this gem 4 years ago, and we always support these local small business, because they always give you the best quality you deserve at the time to eat. As a food business owner myself I know how the prices are in the market and for the quantity and quality they serve you definitely is worth it.This is definitely my favorite restaurant in Southern Maryland.

i had a great time tonight at this restaurant. however, they literally stole my money. i had had informed them i was splitting the check between me and my friend at the beginning. we both put our cards and cash to pay and we payed. however the tab was $55 and my friend had put down $35 for her half + tip. when we got the receipt back, they had literally charged my account dry. mind you i only had $50.25. they made us leave a tip of $30. insane tip for mediocre service.

Lived in the area for over 25 years and this is the first time at island hideaway. They do not take reservations for outdoor seating. So we arrived early to celebrate a friends birthday. The parking is limited just a heads up. We sat outside overlooking the water. Inside was very crowded. Our waitress was very busy, she appears to be working inside and outside. That made our time waiting a bit long. We were a party of six, was originally seated at the picnic tables but then it began to rain. We asked our waitress to move up onto the deck and she had to check with the hostess if it was okay to move. I’m sorry, but if my guests were getting wet, I would let them move up and out of the weather. We ordered multiple items from the menu. They do have items made in-house like their salad dressings. I am gluten free, so I enjoyed the options. After enjoying the plentiful meal, getting dessert was a bit of a chore. Our waitress again, was running around, and the sweating profusely on her face proves that she could have used better help or have tables in a closer proximity. The overall experience I am rating a 3 star because after our meal and drinks we spent almost $300.00 for our party. Spending that type of money in a limited space with so so seating restaurant NOT in the DC metropolitan area, I was expecting a better experience.

amazing experience! our servers name was whitney, she was very attentive, informative and just all around a very nice person to chat with. we ordered the shrimp scampi for an starter, best thing i've ever had in my life, definitely 11/10! as well as crab cakes and the cut of the day for our meal, my steak was cooked perfectly and a very nice size, not too much, not too little. overall, great dining experience... highly recommend for anyone new to the area or looking for new places to eat at. prices are reasonable for being a high quality restaurant!

Lovely waterfront venue. Kind and attentive service - not rushed through your meal (but also not particularly fast). I wish I took a photo of the Crab Dip appetizer as I think we all enjoyed that the most. The crab cakes were acceptable. I’m not a huge fan of mahi-mahi but I wanted to try something different & I liked it. I has a very mild taste, but I liked the sauce that was served with it. My daughter enjoyed the Seafood Cannelloni, and if I go back that is what I would get as I have never had anything like that in another restaurant. It’s a little expensive but not overpriced for good food in a premium waterfront location. They had lovely indoor and outdoor seating and great views of the water.

We found the Hideaway last year on our yearly Calvert County vacation. We loved it last year and we ate there twice this trip! The Seafood Cannelloni with a mix of the alfredo/Cabernet marinara is spectacular! The fries are really good as well as the crab dip with pretzels logs! My husband had the lasagna and raved about it and my kids both loved the burgers! I highly recommend calling ahead for a table outside, nothing better than watching the marina activity while eating a great meal.

Ate dinner here for the first time and will definitely be going back. Waitress was amazing and the food was also. The crab dip was the best I've ever had. We also had the Island hideaway taco's (mahi mahi) and the soft crab BLT which were both cooked to perfection. Only negative I saw was the hostess wouldn't stay off her phone long enough to pay attention.

LOVE LOVE LOVE finding places like this! The service was great, the food was even better and I particularly enjoyed that they were also softly playing satellite radio EDM and just the vibes were so chill. The view is fantastic. Ordered the Crab Dip and the French Toast that was stuffed with fresh strawberries and a sweet cream cheese, so good! The Lavender Martini was just icing on the cake! Everything was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect! Will def be back for more!

The crab dip was like crab soup taste like Mayo but not even getting in to whole dinner. I had desert and I have been sick since I got home the supposedly keylime pie was bad , spoiled and old . It tasted very sour not like key lime . I didn’t notice until I got home and was looking through are photos from our first visit there tonight. Anyone know cheese cake is discolored like that means it is bad . Look in front of whip cream on cheese cake . Iam very sick and very very disappointed. 90 dollars and it was bad

Fantastic restaurant with excellent staff! This is a must visit location for the food and view. Great food selection and plenty to chose from on the drink menu. The seats on the deck are shaded for lunch and you can escape the heat by sitting inside. All I can say is go, you will love this restaurant. Use the Open Table app to reserve your table ahead of time.

When we arrived we had to wait a few minutes, but not too long. Loved the waiting area, sturdy and comfortable seating, and the scenery cannot be better. The restaurant has a boat dock so you can arrive by car or boat :) The restaurant was full and they offered to sit us inside but they have such a great outdoor seating area we did not mind the wait. Tables have a good separation due to COVID. The menu had different offers for both surf and turf lovers. I wish they had more seafood offers though. The specials were spot on and their appetizers were very tasty and fresh! Service was excellent from our friendly waitress “Allison” and the music was not loud at all, it all blended in nicely to give it a great atmosphere. Definitely will go back again! Ohhhh and the french fries were excellent ;) the fresh fish bite (mahimahi) were so fresh and their tartar sauce is homemade and delish. I can only see this place getting better and better.

We were looking for another spot in Solomons island, to celebrate and just happened along to the Island Hideaway. Such a great vibe, very comfortable. I loved how you can drive your boat up to the restaurant. Many patrons arrived this way. The food was good, and pricey. I had a salad with mahi mahi and my +1 had a burger and fries. We both had 2 beers and we ordered dessert to go. Our bill was over $150.00.I loved the vibe so much, I would visit again, except how folks dined with their furry friends. One patron even took his pet around for ppl to pet. I could smell the animals and it grossed me out. Also, good parking in their lot off of the main beat and path.Features: There were none in place.

Forgot to take pictures before eating, but the food was delicious! We had a large group of 7 and they were pretty quick to get us all seated. The waitress was nice and very knowledgeable about their drinks and menu. There was a lot of foot traffic in and out which let in some flies, one unfortunately ended up on my salad plate which they immediately replaced. If you get outside seating it's right on the water. Overall, great atmosphere and I'd definitely dine here again.Update: We visited again for my birthday and the experience was just as good as last time! Phenomenal service and they were quick to get our food out. The Adobo porkchop was sweet with a little kick and my husband loved the blackened chicken on his fettuccine Alfredo. A favorite restaurant of ours now.
