I was out driving around the Smithsburg, Md area hoping to find an apple orchard in early in December that had not yet closed for the season. I came upon Lewis Orchards as the first orchard. So I decided to stop and check out the place. What a find!!! I feel like I hit the jackpot. They still had apples and a nice selection too. So I decided to buy 3 bushel. I got a variety of Fuji, Gala, Granny Smith and Pink Lady. I was a little worried about the quality and freshness of the apples since it was early December. I bought them primarily to cook and freeze and enjoy throughout the year. When I got home I tried a sample of each variety. Oh My Goodness was I surprised. These were some of the best apples I have ever tasted. They were so fresh and crispy, and oh so tasty. I guess I won’t be cooking up as much of them as I had planned since I will be eating them fresh and sharing them with family and friends. Nothing like a crispy and juicy apple right from the orchard. Thank you to all at Lewis Orchards & Farm Market for the great apples. Although they didn't allow you to pick your own apples, they had a "you pick" flower area with a wide array of different flowers to choose from. They were very sweet with my children, and allowed them to watch the employees sort the apples in the barn. The prices were fair and the parking lot is big enough for a full size pick up.

This is a wonderful place. Family owned. I may be biased as I do work there and have for many years but it's all about customer service. For the gentleman that left a one star rating if you would have called and brought your produce back to the market the following week we would have replaced your fruit or refunded your money. Customer satisfaction is always number one.

Always good produce. Friendly people. Answer the phone and offer to sell you something you're looking for even if they're closed. Family owned and it definitely shows. Free sample of their apple cider and it's the best cider I've ever tried.

Went to let the dog out for a tinkle because I thought they were closed for winter. I was surprised that the owner stopped and opened his place for me. Big place out in the country! Even though Mr. Lewis was closed he sold me on his apples! What a nice man and GREAT quality apples! I WILL be back (when Poppy has to tinkle) and to buy more produce in May! Thanks for selling your quality produce just for me, Mr. Lewis!

Great surprise find as we were heading back to DC from Sugarloaf Mountain hiking. Huge array of apples, test of produce looked great, and big display of hand-poured candles. Staff wasn’t very outgoing, but we were there at the end of the day, so maybe they were ready to be done.

Great pick your own strawberries. Much better quality than what you can buy in stores, plus doing it with your kids is even more special.

We're some of the worst tasting peaches, didn't realize they were frozen until they thawed enough to try one the next day. never go there again. If wasn't so far away l would take back for full refund.
