I have been a service customer of Herb Gordon (HG) Subaru for about 13 years with two Outbacks and from two addresses (neither of which was close to HG) because they have never disappointed me. Before I retired, HG provided me with a loaner car for every service visit so I never had to take my family out of their way or find a colleague to coordinate a drop off and pick up for me. HG Service Dept is well staffed and well organized with knowledgeable service advisors and skilled auto technicians. There is little to no waiting time for drop off; they provide a price for standard scheduled maintenance (often discounted), and the service advisor communicates any concerns expressed by the technician after the scheduled service is complete, as well as the time and cost of any additional work so the customer can make an informed decision. When HG services your vehicle, they also do a standard check for the safe running of the vehicle & safety of the driver. I feel confident in the drive ability of my vehicle after every service at HG.

Bring my Subaru for an oil change. The advisor tapped on my window within 1min On my arrival. Super efficient. Loner is offered right away for a 2 hour wait for completion. I didn't need it. But it feels so good to know they have a backup plan for me. The waiting area is nice and filled with snacks and coffee. Upstairs an extra quiet lounge that also comes with a coffee machine that makes latte, cappuccino, espresso,..the free car wash put a perfect finishing on the visit....strongly recommended!!!

I was very carful in choosing what Subaru dealership I went to in the DC area, and Herb Gordon Subaru has definitely earned its great reputation. The staff are very friendly and go the extra mile for customers. I think one of the biggest hesitations of going to any car place is worrying about being over charged, but I can assure you this place is extremely honest. I always leave my maintenance appointments feeling confident in the work that was done. I would also like to give a shout out to Michael Goodman. He is the reason for the great experiences at each visit and why I will continue to come back to Herb Gordon Subaru!

Just had a fantastic service experience at Herb Gordon Subaru in Silver Spring. I had a smashed side-view mirror. The service department quickly identified the parts needed for repair, got them ordered and set up an appointment for repair. They kept me informed every step of the way. The repair was done quickly and I had my car back in a little over an hour. They saved me about 30% over the original estimate by repairing a broken wire (rather than replacing an entire assembly). I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I have been a Herb Gordon Subaru loyal customer for years and this is an example of why!

This review is for their Service Center.I received excellent, courteous and professional service. Arrived around lunch time during the week to get an oil change, tire rotation, multipoint inspection, and an exterior was on my car. I was out in less than 2 hours.I found their quiet waiting area, located on the second floor, to be the ideal place to wait for my car to be serviced. Had a great experience.

Was visiting my grands in Laurel, MD when I had my first issue with my car. My brake light was on So I googled Subaru near me And I found Herb Gordon. I called got an appointment to bring my car in and from the first moment of contact they were so nice and very welcoming. They treat you like family from the start to the finish of your visit .Where'd these folks come from 😊 They are great and very genuine. My second visit was exactly the same experience. Be cautious with the extended warranty!! as it entails meticulous attention to fine print, particularly if you plan to sell your car prematurely. Dealing with the dealership and manager can be cumbersome and frustrating regarding this issue. You most likely need to settle the remaining warranty loan before selling, then wait around six weeks for reimbursement. Despite paying off the $2000 for the remaining five years upfront, I’m yet to receive my refund 3 months later as promised. Additionally, be mindful of mileage restrictions, which could affect your ability to cancel the warranty or sell the vehicle. I’ll give it another week before pursuing further action to reclaim my money.

2nd car I purchased here 2019 / 2024. Sales staff is very helpful. The process was quick since I was prepared. Finance department now is very James bound love how all the paperwork was digital.Now the service department is another level I am not going to give them a bad review but make sure if you purchase extended warranties and you have an issue you have the information at hand. Had a couple of issues.

Service was great! Vitaliy was my service advisor and offered a great explanation of what was wrong with my car, and even worked to give a fair price for the diagnostics on my vehicle! They were fair and upfront about pricing compared to other Subaru dealerships I’ve worked with previously and did not pressure me regarding optional services to the vehicle. The complimentary multipoint inspection was better than any I’ve received from other dealerships!

Was a customer of here for 10 years, but not anymore. They overcharged my wife for maintenance cause she was a woman and they could take advantage. Charged $90 for replacing bulbs that they said were installed incorrectly (by them previously). Charged large diagnostic cost. Tried charging $1900 for a part replacement. The part costs $800. That didn’t include labor. The service manager said they’d honor the $1900 to install though. Hardly breeds confidence they tried charging over double just for the part.They also wanted $800 for a windshield replacement. We took the outback to a reputable mechanic and it costs $1700 for windshield AND actuator part install. Never again herb Gordon.Sales department seems fine though.

I consistently have an excellent experience having my Subaru serviced at Herb Gordon. Today I took advantage of their no-reservation express service for an oil change and free multipoint inspection. Used one of the desks and WiFi in quiet room while waiting. Got friendly and knowledgeable treatment by service advisor Luis Prada, who explained what needed to be dealt with today and gave me a heads up on things I should address at my next oil change. Sent on my way with a free car wash.

Not satisfied at all with my service ! Jarrell was my service advisor and the experience was horrible !!!!!He give me a list of recommendations for my car , however when he noticed they were under warranty somehow they did not get addressed . I had to bring the car back for the same recommendation!!!! After Jarrell insisted he knew what the real problem was although he is not a mechanic- !!!!!! He was fast to try to sell Something instead having the actual problem fixed ! Terrible advisor ! Terrible visit !

Deserves zero stars. Bought a 2024 subaru from this location and within months the tire bent and back suspension failed. They blamed me saying I hit a pothole. I wouldn't trust them for anything. I will never buy a car here again and now my father said he's not going there either. Lying about a pothole because they sold me a broken car is a huge low. Buyer beware!Update: I did not hit a pothole or anything. It's insulting that you keep insinuating that I don't remember hitting something so hard that it broke the car. A 2024 car should not break like this without incident. I already escalated this with insurance to a higher department. Or your shop did damage when you lifted it, it will be investigated.
