My 7 year old corgi hates going to the vet but our visits to Family Pet Veterinary Practice have been as painless as possible. I appreciate the calm environment and the friendly staff. We've seen Dr. Nate in both of our visits; he has been attentive to hearing my concerns and answering all my questions. I don't feel like I'm being rushed or sold products.

We started bringing a rescue we got in the summer of 2021 here because we hadn't been crazy about Banfield, where we took our first dog who has since passed away. We got really lucky finding this place as the vets, techs, and staff are all fantastic. They are really accommodating with our reactive dog, helping us schedule appointments when there won't be other dogs waiting. Now we are bringing a new rescue we got a couple months ago, and they are great with him too. We were having dual emergencies right before leaving for the holidays and we brought a urine sample for one in to drop off, and they were able to squeeze us in to help deal with a badly broken nail on the other, which has since healed nicely. They really care about the animals and owners, taking time to answer our questions and make sure we have all the information we need to make informed decisions about our dogs' health and wellness. I just cannot speak highly enough about them and am very thankful to have found a place we feel we can rely on.

Family Pet Vet is the absolute best. Dr. Wehrli is so compassionate and authentic. And, not only is Dr. Wehrli the best, but his staff is my absolute favorite. In particular Beatriz and Cai! They have so much love for all the animals. They are so kind and helpful. We had a really serious surgery with our older dog and they were so helpful in walking me through everything and getting him out and into the car to help me. When our dog ended up passing they were so compassionate. We now have a new puppy and they are just as loving. I feel like they are a truly family vet practice.

Family Pet Vet not only has a great Vet in Dr. Wehrli but also has a phenomenal staff. Our dog, Toby, had a very serious surgery performed by Dr. Wehrli and the staff was so compassionate and helpful in keeping him comfortable and assisting me getting him in our car. We unfortunately lost Toby due to old age in June but are excited to have another puppy to bring to Family Pet Vet.

We have been going here since we first got our dog in 2015. The vets and techs are helpful and compassionate and have always provided great care. The office responds promptly to emails and it's easy to schedule an appointment. The location is convenient to Silver Spring and Bethesda (off East-West Highway). Really trust them with my dog's care and recommend if you're looking for a vet in the area.

We are extremely happy with this vet clinic. The staff is so nice and caring. You can tell they really do enjoy the work they do. We have had three visits with this clinic over the last year and each time we are always happy with the quality of service. They are affordable, reasonable, and Dr. Makhijani provided us with detailed communication about what we need to do at home for our pet. We feel very lucky and happy to have found this vet. We had our last vet for five years and when we relocated to DC we needed to find someone new which was stressful and made us so nervous. We are truly happy to say that Family Pet Veterinary Practice is our cats’ vet clinic!

Sharing my review today because that was how I found this place! My dog rose had her first vet visit today and the staff her is fantastic. Was her yearly visit so she had to get blood work and they were so patient when she wouldn’t let them get the first stick. The doctor listened to every single one of my concerns and I am so grateful to have our new vet at our new home

I love the staff at Family Pet Veterinary Practice! From the veterinary technicians to Dr. Nate, everyone is so kind and professional. One of my cats is very timid at the vet and they were so kind to him. They did everything they could to comfort him and make the experience less scary for him. Prices are also extremely reasonable!

Dr. Nate and all of his staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. I was able to make an appointment online very easily, and didn't have to wait more than a few minutes once I arrived. Dr. Nate and his staff were very gentle with my cat. He took the time to explain to me some preventative care for my cat's teeth, which was much appreciated. I highly recommend Dr. Nate and his practice.

Family Pet Veterinary Practice has been very good for my dog over the past 1.5 years. I have trusted their opinion, advice and diagnosis. The staff is friendly and the Veterinarians are great. They tell you what they are doing and give you choices about whether you want to pursue a medication or another course of action. I've taken my dog here for the yearly checkups and a lump removal surgery. Highly recommend.

I had a great experience all around with Family Pet Vet. They were very kind and took great care of my cat. More affordable than other vets I've gone to. I only deducted a star because they keep a large iguana in a tiny cage in their lobby, and the poor animal is so deprived. Such a strange sight in a place where people supposedly care for animals. I hope they've since moved her to a sanctuary.

We had a teeth cleaning in December that was below the price of other vets in the area when I tried to price shop. They worked on my 6 year old ShihTzu only so I know she had great attention from the Vet and 2 Vet Techs. She had a bad ear infection in May and they saw us three time to make sure it was resolved. The Vet is very knowledgeable and I would highly recommend them!

Dr. Nate is absolutely excellent, as are all of the vet practice staff. He is friendly and reassuring, and extremely accommodating for our (normally lovable) dog's shennanigans when she comes for examinations. The office is a lovely environment with friendly staff and a very calming vibe, probably as much for pet owners as for the pets themselves. I highly recommend this vet practice!

Great local vet. Husband and I have been living in Silver Spring temporarily the last two years and had been lucky enough to have this office right behind us. Dr. Wehrli has fabulous chair side manner and he's very patient with my fur baby. We have a cat and he can be a bit difficult.The staff are just as wonderful. They are very patient and when we have made requests for records or just anything I've never had the impression I was bothering them. Some businesses have staff that give you the impresion you are imposing on them for having the audacity to ask something thats in there perview and they are paid to do. Not this office.We are moving soon and are bummed to say goodbye. Hopeing we can find another great local vet in our next city.

Staff are upbeat and helpful -- haven't gone with an emergency yet. The care they provide my dog seems excellent. I wish they had longer hours -- specifically earlier or later appointments on weekdays. Also they close midday on Saturdays. Maybe as the practice grows, they'll extend their hours.

My favorite vet ever! Yes, they never answer the phone. But they have otherwise been amazing. Their system automatically emails me if any vaccinations are about to expire. This is also the first vet who's ever told me what each shot is for and given us a choice. The vet always tells me what he's going to do and why.

I've been bringing my new kitten to see Dr. Nate, and I couldn't be happier! The staff is always super friendly, but what really stands out is Dr. Nate's patient and thorough explanations of his assessments and what next steps he recommends. It's refreshing to have a vet who not only obviously cares about animals, but who can also devise (and communicate) sensible treatment plans. IMHO, Dr. Nate's practice is a great find.

Dr. Wehrli takes great care of my little guys. It's super easy to make an appointment online, I've never had to wait more than a few minutes to see him and the prices are totally reasonable. As the owner of a French Bulldog and a 22 year old cat, I go to the vet a lot and I'm very glad I found one like him!

Dr. Nate is an excellent veterinarian and Family Pet Vet is needed in the neighborhood! Well-located between Silver Spring and Bethesda with Saturday hours, who could ask for more.After our vet retired, we were so pleased to find Dr. Nate and he has exceeded our expectations with his bedside manner and welcoming office. He takes his time, explains everything and doesn't recommend any aggressive treatments, which I appreciate.Our 8 year old dog has a low grade heart murmur that has developed over the last 1-2 years and I found Dr. Nate's explanations and recommendations reassuring and reasonable. If you are looking for a down-to-earth, smart and relatable vet, go see Dr. Nate!

This is such a nice practice. Karla, at the front desk, is so professional and takes pride in her work and the practice ....and it shows! The doctor is very kind and calm which helps my distressed pets who do NOT like to be at the vets. Perfect location and plenty of parking. Cute and clean office.
