Lovely Inn! Comfortable and well maintained property with lovely hosts and wonderful breakfasts. We stayed in the Antietam Room which was very well appointed, quiet, and had its own private balcony area overlooking the property. Very close to all of the major historical sites and there are many great restaurants close by to choose from. Thank you to Amy, Chris, Maya (sp?) and Liberty for making our stay so comfortable and for making us feel so welcome! We highly recommend this Inn.

We had a wonderful stay. Very comfortable room. The whole house was incredibly clean and well maintained. The proprietors are wonderful. So helpful and friendly. The breakfast was an absolutely delicious home cooked meal. And very convenient for visiting not just the Antietam battlefield, but also Harpers Ferry and Shepherdstown. We highly recommend this place. .Rooms: Clean and comfortable rooms, including adjoining bathFood & drinks: Delicious breakfast. Early morning brewed coffee available in the parlor

We just stayed here and loved it! The rooms were immaculate and tastefully decorated. The sheets on the bed were so soft that my sister and I both bought a set. The bacon and sausage at breakfast were the best I’ve ever had. Chris and Amy were both very hospitable. Chris actually led our tour and was very knowledgeable. I highly recommend the Antietam room because of the wonderful second floor porch. We also loved the gift shop on site. They had a great selection of items very reasonably priced.

My husband and I wanted to stay at a bed and breakfast close to the Antietam battlefield, after reading several positive reviews we choose the Jacob Rohrbach Inn. This was our first trip away with a one year old and we couldn't have chosen a better place to be. Both the Inn keepers were very welcoming and extremely accommodating of a small child. I recommend staying in the Clara Barton room if you have a small child since it has a separate room and a full cast iron bathtub. The sheets on the bed were very clean and comfortable and the towels are we're ultra-soft. Each room in the Inn has such a cozy feel to it, I loved all the Christmas decorations. The rooms had very solid walls so you couldn't hear any other guests, a very well built house. Each morning breakfast was served at 0830 and you were greeted by Chris or Amy (two of the nicest people you will ever meet). Wish I could eat there everyday, very good food, each morning was fresh fruit, a delicious homemade scone followed by an equally delicious main meal like four cheese quiche or the best French toast you ever had. Chris and Amy even helped entertain my toddler so I could eat! They have two small friendly dogs that also greeted you each day and my son loved playing with them. If you were going out early or coming in late there was a fully stocked comfort station with tea, hot chocolate, soda and coffee and homemade cookies. We enjoyed learning from Chris the history of Antietam and he let us borrow a driving tour cd of the battlefield as well as some books, he is a great source of civil war information. Amy and Chris both could tell you all the best restaurants to go to and also other attractions in the area. I recommend eating at Benders pub down the street and grabbing an ice cream at Nutter’s (also within walking distance). We will be coming back again for sure and look forward to seeing Chris and Amy, they make you feel like you are part of their family, thanks for making our stay so special!

Of the more than 30 B & B's that we have stayed at over the years this is one of the best, if not THE best, B & B of them all. The rooms are large, comfortable, and expertly decorated in keeping with the history of the house. The beds are great and the sheets smooth and soft. The breakfast was delicious and service was perfect. Amy made us feel like we were in a very upscale restaurant but she also made us feel relaxed and comfortable. We were just there for one night but when we return to Antietam and Sharpsburg we will definitely stay here. You should too! We have been Innkeepers in Ohio for 16 years so we can attest to the fact that this is the best! Thank you Amy! You and Chris have done a great job in preserving a part of history.

Greeted by friendly owners and fashionable historic decor, the Historic Jacob Rohrbach Inn certainly makes an excellent first impression. Fortunately, that is an accurate depiction of all to come from a stay here. The food is excellent and the rooms spacious & comfortable. The amenities were exceptional, with free chips, fresh baked cookies, water, tea and coffee as well as a fully stocked mini fridge awaiting a peckish impulse in the living room. To top it all off, there is a wonderful loyalty program where you get increasingly better free goodies with each stay. (the first night is a sport bottle) If you're looking for an atmospheric place to stay between battlefield tours and trail blazing, you are looking at your best option right now!

My husband and I stayed at JRI for one night during our trip to Western Maryland. Chris and Amy were very friendly and approachable, and we enjoyed chatting with them. The room was spacious and comfortable with all of the amenities. It had a large porch overlooking the back yard, and if the weather had been a bit warmer we would have definitely made use of it. Breakfast on Sunday was lovely and relaxed. We enjoyed our stay very much, and wish we could have spent another night. Thank you, Chris and Amy!

Amazing stay! Rooms are big znd comfortable. Breakfast is the best around, sooo good. Great coffee, but more importantly, the host are amazing. Chris is a huge civil war buff like myself and the conversation with him about the battle was everything I wanted, he also gave me a greatvtour of the battlefield since hes also a licensed guide. Amys cooking skills and attention to detail are top notch. Theyre people you could see yourself going to dinner with. I definitely will be back in the future.

My husband and I spent two nights in this historic inn. Chris and Amy have taken real pains to make the guest experience comfortable and accommodating. Chris kindly offered us wonderful historical details of Antietam and the area, and Amy conjured up one of the best breakfasts I have ever had with replete with fresh scones and homemade blackberry jam. I recommend this B & B unequivocally. A real gem!!

We stayed in the suite ( outside little adjacent room with queen bed and fold out couch). This place is absolutely beautiful! Their quaint Rockwall parking area greets you first and lovely flower gardens beckon you up the brick and stone steps to the covered veranda.. the whole home is so quaint and true to period... Then you meet Chris and Kim...the owners... True blue hospitality.. the room and beds we're so comfortable... Big 4 poster bed...decorated so comfortably... Breakfast was delicious cut fruit served in Crystal stemmed glassware, signature lemon curd scone, smoked bacon and croissant french toast with fresh peach compote. I so recommend this lovely quaint little B&B.. wonderful stay!

This as a terrific inn in every way.located in historic Sharpsburg, the inn has been lovingly restored. We had one bedroom with an adjoining suite as there were five of us. The space was perfect. Beds are extremely comfortable and the sheets are the coziest I have ever slept on. Breakfast is a feast. We sat out in the yard each night and had our own cocktail hour after a long day of touring the area. The inn is a perfect jumping off spot for Harper’s Ferry, Antietam, Gettysburg, Shepardstown, Boonsoboro etc. There is so much to see here. Your hosts at the inn are terrific. Chris is in charge of the guides at Antietam, so try to ask for him if you opt for a private tour. All in all, this the Jacob Rohrbach Inn will not disappoint on any front.

My wife and I took time after a conference in Baltimore to leave the urban downtown for the scenic beauty and history of Sharpsburg MD. An easy drive west of about of about ninety minutes. We spent the night in the Harpers Ferry room. It has a nice porch overlooking the back yard and garden, a tranquil scene of flowers and trees. Melon and tomatoes from the garden were part of the morning breakfast. The food was great and plentiful. I had gone out early and walked the battlefield for two hours before returning for breakfast at 8:30, it was a great experience. I would recommend considering a stay here if planning a trip to Antietam.

You absolutely will have no regrets when choosing the Jacob Rohrbach Inn! Our rooms were perfect, spotless, (even those hard to clean wood blinds were white clove sparkle!) and homey/ relaxing. The renovations the owners completed recently were top quality craftsmanship. When you slip in to the sheets, you will melt. Again quality wraps you up and sends you into a deep sleep. But those sheets makes you take a mental note to get up in the morning and ck the label because you must have them!! The porches outside your door pull you to sit and overlook the back yard and fresh air and enjoy some tea. Now, let's discuss Amy's breakfast creations from the kitchen!! O. M. G. Fresh warm scones served with a standing cup of fresh fruit cut up so perfect, you will swear they used a ruler to ensure each were perfect. You will be amazed at the time-investment she & Chris made just for you. Local meats, bacon, sausage. YUM. Crepes. German pancakes. Need I go on? You will not go hungry! Finally, you must make the time to book Chris for a guided tour (Antietam and Harper's Ferry etc). He is outstanding and a commanding wealth of knowledge that is riveting. Bottom line you won't want to leave because it's simply the complete package that supports your get away plan to GET AWAY and relax. 10 stars!

The Jacob Rohrbach Inn was beautiful and the owners were very sweet and caring. I want to come back for another stay. The prepared breakfast was great and was able to be customized somewhat. The two dogs they had at the time were friendly. It is a super nice place. I was impressed and the price is pretty fair.

Love everything about it. The atmosphere is quite, relaxing and quaint. Hearty homemade breakfast. 24 comfort station. Generous amount of toiletries. Interior and exterior of the property is very clean. Within minutes of the battlefield, harper ferry, shopping centers. Friendly hosts. And the biggest thing is- The mattress and bedding are super comfortable. We could rest all day! There's no shortcut in this b&b. Very satisfied.

The owners were wonderful, very helpful and friendly. The room was quite nice and comfortable. The breakfasts were very well done, home baked scones for starters then a full breakfast to follow. They have cookies, coffee, and soft drinks available all day. And if you get bored you can always play with the dogs, they are lovely hosts and quite cute! The inn is also very centrally located in downtown Sharpsburg, which means its a 5 minute trip to either Shepherdstown or Antietam. Ask the owners about the local ghost/history tour - they have a special relationship with the tour - and its a great way to learn a little about the history of Sharpsburg.

My partner and I came to the area for the JFK 50-miler. We were in just for one night. Joanne greeted us at the door when we arrived. We stayed in the guest house, and it was perfect--wonderful historical charm blended with modern conveniences. The week before we arrived, Joanne sent us a list of local restaurants. The one we selected (Domestic in Shephardstown, WV) was excellent. When we told Joanne how early we had to leave the next morning, so offered to prepare a bag of food we could take with us. That bag of delicious food made our day!! We are very much hoping to return for a longer and more leisurely stay very soon.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at The Jacob Rohrbach Inn. We reserved the General’s Quarters and were treated to an incredibly comfortable evening and a delightful breakfast. The owners, Chris and Amy, were very welcoming and a pleasure to talk to, especially when discussing The Battle of Antietam. While this was only our first visit, we will be returning!

This is a fantastic Bed and Breakfast Inn. The owners, Joanne and John, are wonderful and kind people, who cater to your every need, and their breakfasts are to die for! The room was very clean and quiet, decorated in period furniture etc. Their backyard is so beautiful and lush! Flowers everywhere! The Inn is in Sharpsburg MD, right next door to Shepperdstown WV, this is an area rich in history of the Civil War, and Joanne knows every historical detail. They provide you with information on where to dine and places to visit. I loved it here and will stay here again if possible!!

This inn is rich with history and the owners are eager to share it with all of the guests. Breakfast is really tops. Joanne always serves fresh fruit, a pastry as well as the main dish. We've stayed here twice and plan to continue to do so.
