Update #2: we finally received our rug, but it arrived destroyed. I repeat my earlier statement. if you care about your rugs, do not go here. Pictures for proofUpdate: DO NOT GO HERE! Do not trust them with your valuable rugs.If you look at my other reviews, you’ll notice I very rarely give a one or even two star review. We have been trying to get our rug back for a whole month (starting two weeks after the day it should have been done) and for the past week the storefront has been closed with no warning or way to contact them. They have not responded to emails or phone messages. We are now moving across the country without our rug because they are unable to return it to us. At this point we’ll probably have to seek legal action just to get our property returned.Look up their MD business filing, read the common thread of similar bad reviews. These people will not provide you the service that they promised. We brought them our ring on 6/1/23 they said it would be done 6/15. They evade the phone and when you go in person (if they are even there) they say their machine just got fixed or some other excuse.Update 2: the company finally contacted me and said they would ship my rug. I will update my review once I have received it and evaluated its condition.Would not recommend this place. Brought in my rug over a month ago and was told 14 days. Still have not received it. Even paid in full because they said they would deliver it last week. I’ve attempted to contact them multiple times. When I went in person they gave me the same excuse that they gave a previous reviewer. The equipment was down for maintenance. For $500 for 1 rug, I expect better service.

Exceptional! I highly recommend this family business! Our experience has been outstanding starting with their welcoming customer professional service to examine the carpets and then advise step by step to restore them. Our antique carpets have their luster back and look fantastic. Love them! I found a rug at a yard sale that I brought in for cleaning and slight repairs. Not only did they do a beautiful, excellent job, but they were able to tell me about the rug, including the origin, likely age, and the quality of work and amount of time that went into making it. I love that this is a family-owned business run by kind people and that they don't use a bunch of machinery to do the work. Will bring my rugs back here in the future!

UPDATE: I reached out again by phone on 8/13 (a Saturday) expecting to get another voicemail message, but was happily surprised to have someone finally answer. I explained the situation of having dropped off carpets on June 9, the lack of communication from the company, and concern that the business was closed during the week. The gentleman was apologetic and explained they had had equipment maintenance issues (which was something I had not been previously told), but said they had been fixed and he could get my carpets back to me the following week. My delivery that week was rescheduled, but the same person reached out the day prior and it was only postponed by one day. My rugs were delivered on time that day and I checked each to ensure they had been cleaned. They did indeed clean each and did a very nice job. However, I needed to move one area rug into a sunroom because it was still damp. In the sunny room it dried completely within a day, but if I had not had an area with that much sunlight, it would have been a challenge to dry it completely. In the end, Capital Rug Cleaning did come through, but only after an incredible amount of wasted time and effort on my part, so I can't change my rating to anything higher than two stars. It's a shame because I like to support small businesses, but I would never feel comfortable using them again for fear of experiencing all the same headaches.Original review: One star-I dropped off three area rugs as a new customer two months ago, prepaid in full, and am still waiting for them to be cleaned and delivered. After two weeks had passed, I called to check the status and was told their rug cleaner had been out sick. However, I was assured they would get to my rugs as soon as he returned. Three weeks later, I called again. I was told the employee never returned and they were actively hiring a replacement, but since that person would need to be trained, it might take a bit more time. I was assured my carpets were a priority in the queue since I had dropped them off so long ago. On Aug 8 I called and no one picked up so I left a message. I also sent an email, but no one has responded. Update: I visited their store today, 8/10 during regular business hours (11:30am) and the place was dark and locked. I left another voicemail while standing outside the business. I could see a number of rugs scattered all over the floor and now I'm especially concerned that this company may be having financial troubles since they're not even open. No one is responding and I have not had any updates in the last three weeks. I chose Capital Rug Cleaning based on all the positive, local reviews, and to say I regret the decision is an understatement. Now I'm just hoping they haven't gone out of business and skipped town with my carpets and money. Someone from the company needs to call me and make things right.Service: General carpet cleaning

I've used Capital Rug Cleaning on some of the most valuable area rugs in my home and they did an incredible job. They are professional, timely, thorough, extremely well-informed on the various materials and weaves of rugs, and offered me great advice on how to prolong their life in my home. I used area rug cleaning, pet stain removal, and repair. In fact, Capital recommended I NOT get a rug rebound and instead simply trimmed the binding and it looks brand new. I use Capital Rug all the time and am always happy. They deep clean area rugs, wool rugs and do a great job with fringe repair and even provide the rug worth. All hand washed!What I most like is that if I have odor or stains in my carpet, they are completely removed if the stains are fresh and not permanent. I can call them to pick up and they arrive within a one hour window. I bought a rug for my living room and they delivered a great non slip rug pad for free. Professional, trustworthy and excellent service. Our rugs look great!

Took wool rug in on 3-18-2023 for repair and cleaning. Was told it would be ready in 10 days...have not received it back yet and phones calls do directly to voice-mail and messages are never returned...not a good business model. Service is exceptional. The owner inspected each carpet dropped off for cleaning and he knew more about our carpets than anticipated including his assessment of quality and value! The estimated date of completion of the cleaning was accurate and the owner was very understanding when business called me away delaying pickup. These guys were awesome. I started by only having them clean 1 rug to see if they did a good job and if they were knowledgeable to clean my more expensive handmade persian rugs. I found their prices to be very reasonable and I trusted them to clean ALL my beloved persian rugs. The people I worked with were great too. I highly recommend them. Also, they did not try to upsell me services or products I did not need. They simply informed of other services they offer.

They cleaned 4 large and 2 small rugs and cut 4 pads for the large rugs. 2 of the large rugs were in fairly rough shape and all 6 of them were dirty from 2 cats and a dog. They also did some repairs to one of the small rugs.I am extremely happy with the quality of the work they performed. All 6 rugs are very clean and soft, and the pads were cut perfectly.It was a pleasure doing business with Hamid and his son. They are very professional, courteous and take the time to explain the cleaning process in depth.I highly recommend Capital Rug Cleaners!

They gave a reasonable quote and then met it in a very timely manner. On a smaller rug they gave a discount for me bringing it in. On a larger oriental rug they did a pickup and delivery, which included moving some heavy furniture which I could not have done. They called in advance an the crew were friendly and professional. They are very knowledgeable about the different types of rugs—country of origin, composition (wool vs. cotton, etc), hand vs. machine made. Used Capital Rug Cleaning a couple times now for cleaning area rugs. Each time, they thoroughly explained the cleaning process, inspected my rug, and annotated any potential areas of concern. Turn around time for my orders was about a week. During pick-up, the rugs were securely wrapped in thick paper for protection. The cleaning itself was extremely thorough. I immediately noticed colors were much richer. The rug material remained soft and undamaged. It's obvious Capital Rug Cleaning has a passion for and great knowledge of carpeting and takes pride in their work. Highly recommend!

Not sure how they have 5 stars. I made appointment for a pick up for 2 rugs which they missed twice. I asked for 3rd appointment and they told me they don't pick up for a small order like mine so I asked for exception because I had already waited twice for them. So they picked up rugs and after about 4 weeks I called to see if rugs would be ready in 1 week for pick up and they guy left voicemail and guaranteed rugs would be ready. I arrived and they were not ready so they said they'd drop them off in a week. Made another appointment for drop off but at the time of the appointment they called and said 1 rug got damaged in cleaning process so they would miss drop off appointment and try to fix rug and would deliver following week. Rugs dropped off today but 1 rug the color bled. It wasn't a very expensive rug ($250) but decorators designed the room around the rug so not easy to find replacement. I was not charged for either rug to be cleaned but still a series of missteps from start to finish.
