Emily assisted us with our purchase. We actually were returning due to an ill fitting pair of sneakers. The Sales Rep. prior wasn’t very interested in the intricacies of a well fit shoe. Keeping in mind that these sneakers are rather expensive. I’m glad that we had to return because we met Emily. She was kind, patient and explained everything. She understood/understands the importance of a good fit and proper sizing and need of the correct shoe for a person. Go see Emily she’ll make sure you are leaving with the best item to fit your needs.

Went to Vernon Powell as I really love the store.Was at the Pandora case n was browsing so I could buy a couple charms.No one came to me at all.When I turned to the front register I made eye contact and the guy put his head down.Not I'll get someone or we will b right w you. I walked out and called inside and spoke w Joe.He said he would look into it.l'll go 3 hours to a Pandora store instead of ride 5 minutes from my house to b ignored

Love Vernon Powell when I was a kid growing up in Salisbury and going to the old store on Main Street there has always been a great feeling or something special about this family owned business thank you for all the shoes I have bought over the year's and this past Christmas your department that helps size and get you in the right shoe really help me out and ordered my 840 New Balance great shoe with so much cushion thank you again

I needed a good walking shoe, so I had an appointment with Frank. He measured my food and helped me pick out a good shoe. I did not know you could get an appointment, and the specialist would be helping you only to pick out a good and comfortable shoe.

INITIAL 2-STAR REVIEW: I usually like this place. They have a pretty good selection of shoes. However when I went today with my daughter we stood in the children's shoes section for an extended period of time and no one offered to help us. I probably would have purchased shoes here today but since the service was so terrible, and by terrible I mean non-existent, I didn't spend any money here.Updated review:I went back and got excellent service from one of the older gentlemen who used to work at Small's. He provided really great service. I hope that he can pass along his attention to customer service to some of the younger staff.

Went in today looking for new shoes for work. As soon as I walked in, Allen offered to assist me. I had a few specific things I was looking for with the shoes, and he helped me find exactly what I was looking for.My feet have been killing me at work, and he helped me find my correct size, where I carry the pressure in my feet, and what shoes would be best for me.

There is no better than VP!!1/17/2024I stopped by today for a new pair of running shoes. I'm so glad Ken was working! He took the time to help me pick out the perfect pair. His knowledge and expertise in performance footwear is incomparable!! Ken's level of customer is beyond world-class, it's incomparable. The fact that he uses a shoehorn speaks volumes. VP will always be my favorite, go-to store on The Shore!

I have shopped VP for years and mostly in children department for my grandkids. Today I was in there to get shoes in children department with 7 year old granddaughter. Sat for about 5 minutes waiting, finally a young lady came by and said you ok. I said no I would like someone to measure her foot so I can get her some shoes. She called someone from another department and basically I fitted my granddaughter for the shoes I got her. Love the store but service is not like it use to be.

I must say Tammy, the manager of the women's department is fabulous! I have a problem foot from foot surgery years ago. I always pick out what ever feels good. Even if they are ugly shoes to me. Tammy found me some really stylish and cute shoes.I bought three different pairs. She takes her time with you and knows her shoes and styles. Tammy is definitely an asset to Vernon Powell. Prices are a bit high. When you walk in it's hard to tell you're in shoe store. So much apparel and jewelry and other merch taking up the front half of the store and then the shoes are behind all of that.

My experience on Saturday was second to none. This is a company that has a strong culture and core values to deliver the customer service that they provided. Upon walking into the store I asked two of the salesman on the floor for Allen whom is very knowledgeable when fitting running/ athletic shoes. Even when asking them for another associate whom I was recommended by other customers they did not flinch or assume any negative body language knowing the sale would go to another associate. This was a great sign right away. During the consultation the customer service and knowledge of the correct shoes for my body was second to one. I highly recommend. Thanks!

They have a great selection of shoes, clothing and accessories for both men and women. As well as selections for children. Prices are a bit higher than competitors. The employees are very helpful, and have a wonderful attitude toward their jobs and the customers. A five star review was my aim, however; the exaggerated prices would not allow a five-star rating.

I called ahead to see if a certain shoe was in stock in my size and color. I wasn’t entirely sure if they were what I wanted. I was very pleasantly surprised to be connected with someone who loves what they do as much as Allen. Knowledgeable and helpful he made my experience at VP shoes memorable. I’ll be back.

I am a frequent shopper at this location and I must say there are friendlier people who work on the weekends I guess. The only saleswoman who greeted me today was Linda after she noticed I was there. My mom and I always go to Linda. She is always very helpful and very kind. I had been in the store for about 5 min before Linda had noticed me and three people who were employees there didn’t even greet me or ask how they could assist me. I also noticed that two other African American women were not greeted or asked if they needed help. It seems to be a trend with responses like this as I continue to read reviews. Good quality help is hard to come by and hopefully this review can bring about some change.

Stopped in on a very busy Sunday. The female employee who helped us was wonderful. She helped us for a long time and gave us her full attention without becoming impatient or annoyed. I ended up buying 2 pairs of shoes. I will definitely be going back for fall shoes for all 5 of us!

Very pricey but I was a little prepared for that just based on reputation. I didn't buy anything but I very well may have if I had been addressed and asked if I needed help like many of the other people in the store given there were 3-4 employees talking amongst themselves and trying out the machine that tells you what insoles to try. Maybe next time my experience will be a bit different

I was in Vernon Powell around six months ago and the service was terrible but I needed shoes and spent close to $700. Fast forward to today. The service was just as bad if not worse! I walked to the front counter near the entrance where there was a young man and older lady behind the counter. Neither greeted me..so I said hi to the lady and asked if they sold shoe polish.She shrugged her shoulders and said I don't know ask the sales person on the floor! I said show me a sales person. She walked from. behind the counter seemed disgruntled and found an associate. Then she pointed at me and said "SHE" needs shoe polish. Rude. Then the associate walked me to the front counter where I originally asked the lady about shoe polish. There the other her young man stood . The shoe polish was there the whole time. I don't know why these employees hate their job so much! I have been in the service industry for a long time and this is disappointing and disgusting!. I will never recommend anyone go purchase shoes shoe polish or anything from this store. And note to the owner .It's painfully obvious you know this behavior is happening. So keep your apologizeies and your disgruntled employees and your over priced shoes! ..if I could give a ZERO rating I would!

I made a quick stop to see if they had the Hoka brand athletic shoes. They did! The sales person was friendly, knew the shoes and the differences in the different styles. They made recommendations and bright back different sizes and styles. This was great because I could compare and choose the style I liked. It was quick, efficient and helped me minimize my time.

VP puts all the “big box” stores to shame. A local store that carries all the big brands - Yeti, Hoka, Brooks, Olukai, Simply Southern, The North Face, Marmot, Carhartt… and those are just the brands I’ve purchased! The moment you walk in the store, you’re greeted and offered assistance. Shoe fitting is an experience in itself; you feel like you’re the center of attention (as you should!) through the whole process. Their pedorthists are so professional and knowledgeable. Relieved my plantar fasciitis pain with a great pair of shoes and inserts. You might pay a little more, but the bang for your buck is second to none. They also have a kids section and they make the shoe buying experience for children a breeze. I’ll never shop for shoes anywhere else!
