Johnson-McKee and the staff thereare excellent. Ashley took amazing care of our puppy starting with her first shots and all the way through her spay (which we’d never been through before). If you’re looking for a trust worthy, efficient, & caring team to take care of you pet, this is the place to go!

If I could give zero stars I would. What a horrible experience. Let me first say that the vet techs were amazing with my dog. They were petting him, scratching his butt, giving him treats etc. The new vet however, I wouldn’t let him touch an ant farm if I had one… never introduced himself when he came into the room. Then told me that they had a new policy that was put out two days ago that they are no longer seeing anxious dogs, and the appointment was taking too long and there were people waiting. The vet was in the room with us for approximately 10 minutes, I guess that was too long. I have been taking my pets there since 2015 (my dog since he was a puppy, he’s anlmost 3 now) and have never been treated as badly as we were today. The staff was super apologetic for the experience but the new Vet needs to think about another profession. Although we can’t go back because my dog is to “anxious” (he growled when they were trying to take blood and when the vet pushed on his belly as any dog probably would have) I would absolutely not return unless he is no longer there…absolutely traumatic experience for my dog!!!!

We have used Johnson-McKee for years. They recently saw my dog as a walk-in after she had been in the pet ER all night because she required continued observation. They watched her all day, gave her medicine, did new x-rays, and kept her on oxygen most of the day, and got her feeling much better. The cost was surprisingly much less than anticipated and only 1/3 the cost of the ER bill. They called the next day to check in on her and give further recommendations. I was very satisfied with the whole thing.

This office has turned into an absolute disaster! Really unfortunate that you try to defer scheduling vaccine appointments for a long term customer away from your practice ! This practice no longer serves this community in a positive manner.

We had a great experience here with our kitten this morning. They were informative about his needs and went out of their way to make our cat feel comfortable. They are a little short staffed so it took a little while to get in for an initial appointment but we are glad we chose to come here! It was worth the wait

EXCELLENT SERVICE!!! Dr. Peters treated my cat with love and care, Bynx suffered a stroke on top of an upper respiratory infection on top of ear infection, After going to 2 other previous vets we went to Dr. Peters who saved Bynx from fighting for his life to an already up and learning to walk again kitty. If you want a Vet in Salisbury who will give it to you straight, honest and take care of your loved one , GO TO DR. Peters! God bless! Let it be known i am very critical of who i give reviews too, This office deserves 5 stars. **Update** i dont understand how people are saying there costly, because we thought compared to all the vets in the area they are very inexpensive, even so , the care was wonderful you get what you pay for!

Took my dog to Johnson McKee ever since I first got her. I was so impressed with Dr. Melanie Culver. She took time to see where my dogs name originated from, she was given a Kong toy, the whole nine yards. I really loved this place. However today, I’ve had an absolute change of heart. My dog was having an emergency. I was told Dr. Culver was home sick for the day (that’s fine). I was told to go to Vet ER. As I’m on my way to the Vets ER, I realize they don’t open until 6pm. Not sure why I was told to go there considering the opening time was two hours away. I called Johnson McKee back in tears at this point because I don’t know where else to go. I was told to go all the way to Seaford Animal Hospital and by the time I would’ve gotten there, they would’ve been closed. I was pretty much told “well I don’t know. Good luck.” And rushed off the phone with no answers. After being treated so nonchalantly by the staff of a vet that I’ve poured my money into, I will never return here ever again. Thank you for your “care” front staff!

Staff are very friendly & happy to see whoever you're bringing thru the door for their check up. Price has gone up since we started going there, but they're very good to my boy. Just need to get his weight down!

I have been a client of Johnson (now Johnson-McKee) Animal Hospital since 1956. Throughout the 65 years the hospital support staff and veterinarians have been outstanding! Not all visits were happy occasions but in every instance they were caring, compassionate and totally professional. On several occasions when I was unable to take my pets to the office, a staff member came to the house to take care of my cats. In one instance when I had an out of town emergency they gave my cats a home until I returned. Best of all the staff always welcomes my cats and me with warmth and respect. Many thanks for your unending commitment to excellence in serving the community and its pets.

I had a new veterinarian she was young, very bright, and pleasant. I felt like she was in a hurry to get us out. I dont believe she reviewed the technicians notes and our communications were awkward. I took us several attempts to go thru the shots and records before I was clear and confident what I would allow her to administer to my dog.Again, this veterinarian was nice, but in a hurry. With a little coaching on customer service, she could be a great vet

This vet used to be great a couple years back. Seems like some of their vets retired, and they “restructured,” and quality of care and integrity has dropped dramatically. At my last appointment (which they squeezed me in for, for which, at the time, I was extremely grateful), we tried to address several issues was having with my pup – an ear infection, a possible UTI, recurring skin irritation, and bad hips. The new vet left with an ear swab, saying she’d be right back with the results – she never came back. When the tech came with meds and to check us out, I asked her where the vet went and why she didn't come back. The tech told me that my dog had a yeast infection in his ear, and presented me with medications, and that the vet requested a urinalysis. I asked to talk with the vet again, about the rest of the issues, because she said she'd come back. The tech went to find the vet, and when the vet came back, she acted visibly annoyed, and gave me terse answers to my questions. She gave me a sample of an arthritis medicine for his hips and left. She didn't even try to address the skin issues, and barely touched on anything else. I couldn't afford the urinalysis at the time, and opted to purchase the ear antibiotic online, because it's cheaper. When I placed the order for the medications – including ones we've used in the past to treat his skin condition – all but the ear drops were denied. At the time, taking care of his ear infection was paramount. Fast forward a couple months, and my dog’s skin issue is as bad as it's ever been. When I called, complaining that I've spent money on too many office visits for this to be happening still, they offered for him to come in and see a different (also new) vet, but still had to charge for the office visit. Upon further questioning, they told me that I refused all medications (which isn't true at all), and that they had no record of the medications I ordered on Chewy, despite the obvious fact that I needed THEIR approval to place the order. They stated that the vet’s recollection was different than mine, and that I refused everything because I couldn't pay, when this is very much not the whole truth. Deciding to order medications online, rather than paying the much higher costs in clinic, is not a refusal of treatment, and their records should reflect this. Instead, I was treated like a liar, after my previous office visit was decidedly rude and dismissive. This clinic has severely gone downhill, from being the best in Salisbury, to being one of the worst business experiences I've had in years. Don't go here unless you have loads of money to spend on whatever they tell you to buy, and to pay for common respect from people who won't give it otherwise.

Dr. Peters and the staff at Johnson McKee were so professional and seemed to genuinely care about our pup Sophie. They answered every question that I had and didn’t seem at all bothered when I called multiple times with concerns. I was nervous about having to leave her but they took great care of her.It is such a breath of fresh air to visit a business where everyone one of the staff members are so friendly, happy, and really seem to enjoy their jobs. Everyone from the front desk staff to the veterinarian were wonderful! Thanks for making a sad and scary situation so much easier for us!

Went once about two years ago with our older cat during pandemic. Was not able to see the quality of care… They said teeth needed to be pulled because of gum disease. Our cat is in extreme pain again so we called. Since our last visit was 2 years ago, and giving them several hundred dollars, we are considered a new patient and they are NOT taking new patients. WOW. From the reviews I think we are better off!! What a bunch of bull…Guess I’ll let my neighbor know she can’t bring her animals back there either.

Took my cat for an emergency illness visit and doctor took blood and charged for lab work only to tell me at check-out no matter the outcome they wouldn't be able to help us further because of staffing shortages. Went on to recommend I drive my cat as far away as York, PA. What was the point??!

Dr peters and staff have cared for our many cats and dogs for about 30 yrs..Staff and vet care have always been top notch.. I sense how they love our animals, even my dog watchdog who behaved horribly this last visit.. I feel their prices are fair and I trust that discussions of needed care are about what is really needed, without the element of maximizing their income. I love the continuity of a skilled, honest providers and highly recommend them.

So I walk in to the office 10 minutes before my appointment and I am immediately greeted by the lady behind the desk asking me if this was Callie (my dog). She immediately came over and greeted us and took us to the back where another lady met us and finished Callies exam. When the doctor came in, he took his time and answered all of my questions. This was a great experience and you can tell that all of the people that work here really enjoy their jobs and taking care of the animals.

Our former vet at Johnson-McKee retired, and we were all pleased with Dr. Lloyd. She spent a lot of time talking to us about our aging cats and what to be watching for. And through the whole examination, she didn't get hissed at once, which is a new experience.

Idk what the deal w thos place is I used them years ago and things were fine but in December I called and made an appointment they said I had to wait 3 months just to have a boy cat fixed. My appt. Was made for st Patrick day and when I went the office was closed!!! So I tried to call on Monday and during office hours all I got was a message saying they were closed. I called 3 times that day getting the same message. I also called numerous times throughout the week w the same message. Obviously I won't b calling them again EVEN IF I COULD

We are fortunate to have such wonderful vets as Dr. Culver and Dr. Peters in our area! They work tirelessly to give extensive care, advise us, and accommodate us as soon as possible, especially during a pandemic. They went above and beyond to keep all of us, including our beloved pets safe, yet, still offer the same care. Their office staff and vet techs are a HUGE part of keeping everything together and running smoothly...love them!! Just took my dog for an annual exam/vaccines after moving to SBY area. They made the no-contact exam very easy and the appointment was very quick and easy. The vet techs seemed really good with my dog and genuinely happy to see and pet her which makes me feel like they treat the animals like their own pets behind the scenes. Also prices are less than what I've had at vets in other areas.

I have used Johnson and mckee for years. This is the first year I have not been happy with them. Just to see my small dog they had me sedate him for an check up. He slept for 24 hrs. That was uncalled for. I could hold his head so he wouldn’t bite. This was the first time they ever did that. Months later I need my dog put down. He is crying in agony. They can’t put him down because they don’t have any openings for that day. No compassion
