Kind people who care about the animals in their care. I adopted a cat & he started having issues in one eye a few days later. I think he caught a kitty cold from the stress of getting neutered and adjusting to his new home. I brought him back in, and they sent me home with eye drops. They also showed me how to give them. I appreciate that they were willing to help him post-adoption. He appreciates that his eye gunk is clearing up!

Outstanding devotion to animals, first, and the owners. I’ve had to euthanize several of my rescue dogs over the past few years. They made the entire event as easy as possible for my dear babies and me. I am also impressed by the coordination between the staff, volunteers and Animal Control. Please consider adopting a fur baby from them and financially supporting this incredible place and people.

Went to volunteer to walk some pups. They are happy to see new faces. These animals look to be happy and taken care of. They were all so sweet wish I could take them all home. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there!

Hope your dog doesn't get out and someone takes them here. Tried to get my dog out after she got out and they told me no they are going to spay her first and then I have to pay for it. I did not ask for that nor do I want my dog to be kept there. My dog is not a stray so why would they do that to someone's actual pet?

Love that the general public can go walk dogs there! However they do have an evil witch that works there who will be quick to snap at you like a ferocious dog if you ask what the dogs name is that she walks that is not available to adopt! So for your own safety don't come near this lady because she may either bite or pee on your leg!

I dropped my cat, Sassy, off at 9am after being there at 8:30am, because those were my instructions. They were all business and seemed perturbed by my wanting to stay with her until they took her into the back. When we picked her up at 4:30pm, she was unresponsive and cold. We were told that she was having trouble coming out from the anesthesia. Looking at the paperwork later, I think they gave her too much anesthesia because they had her weight as 6lbs and she is barely 5lbs. She was unresponsive all night and peed on herself because she was unable to really come out of it and unable to walk. We were given special instructions on how to take care of her and they did seem concerned. Her incision was clean and beautiful. After about three days she finally seemed more like herself and she is making a full recovery.

I went in to fill out an application for a small dog, was told I had to go online to do so. While I was there I fell in love with a cat named Jax. So…I asked again about an application told to go online. Walking out the door there sat a man next to a lady as she filled out an application. Completely changed my mind about adopting all together.

The Feline area is open to the public again. You can also walk the dogs but the staff brings the happy pooch out to the lobby for you to walk. The dog area is still currently closed.

Very nice people who are fur babies angels. Thank you for everything you do for the pups and kitties. We were so happy to meet everyone on Friday when we adopted Teddy. We absolutely fell in love with him. Thank you for making this such a wonderful adoption.

We get SSI only to live on. Humaine Society fixed our male dog and gave him his rabies shot for free. And we didn't get him from them.

Thank you Humane Society of Wicomico County! We got our girl from the Wicomico County Humane Society and we had an awesome experience! We participated in the Foster to Adopt program to ensure that she was a good fit for our family. The staff at this Humane Society are great; checking in on her often, providing for her needs until we officially adopted her, being very excited to see her when she came to visit, etc. They did everything possible to ensure she and we had a positive foster/adopt situation. They even checked on her after we officially adopted her, during the COVID-19 quarantine! They were great, she is great, and we are super pleased with our decision to Adopt a dog from the Humane Society of Wicomico County! We sure do love our Brynley!

I had to put my cat down the other day and I’m getting her cremated. She was 17 years old and lived a long life. The lady was very nice and caring. They let me go in through a private way so I could have privacy.

Was very helpful when I was out of work donating me dog food however my dogs are allergic to chicken so they gave me grain feed however my dogs have got itchy skin from this was told by my vet also that grain free causes heart problem which my one already has. Too much protein in grain free bad for dogs my vet said.

I was adopted by Opal, now Sugar. I am so blessed to have her in my life. She is such a good fur baby. The staff were incredible, such a smooth process and so friendly and helpful. I and Sugar are beyond happy! Please adopt and do not shop! There are so many wonderful animals looking to give lots of love at your local shelters.

We adopted our dog, Cody, from the Humane Society of Wicomico County in November of 2021. We drove over 300 miles on Thanksgiving Day to adopt him that Friday! We were so impressed by the facility and the staff that we became monthly supporters.We returned in September of 2022 and adopted our dog Flip!

Hi! We actually visited twice in two days! We came to see Smoke and check out some other rescue dogs! We feel in love with him immediately! The staff is super helpful and happy to help answer any questions or concerns we had! We couldn't bring him home the first day so we scheduled a time for the very next day! We got to walk him both days! We highly recommend rescuing from this location! Keep up the awesome work! Stay safe and well!

They are attentive when you arrive. They communicate well about what's required. Maybe it would be more efficient to get licensed by mail? Just a thought. They are wonderful with the animals

It was a nice place to look for a pet it was clean and well kept as were the animals and I liked that you can volunteer to walk the animals and spend time with them even if you aren't adopting a pet just to be kind help out. The only thing I thought fee are a little pricey but I understand bc that helps run the shelter.

We as a county has one of the best humane society around.They are a no kill shelter and when they put out a call for help to the community, the community steps up to the plate and helps with their needs. They are great people.
