I recently had the pleasure of visiting Pepco on Rockville Pike, and I was incredibly impressed by the outstanding service provided by two of your team members, Kevin and Devaun. As a soon-to-be kitten owner, I walked into the store with a mix of excitement and nervousness. Both Kevin and Devaun immediately came to my aid, turning my uncertainty into confidence with their knowledgeable and attentive assistance.They took the time to walk me through everything I would need for my new kitten, thoroughly explaining the essentials and guiding me on what to avoid to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for my furry friend. What made my experience even more exceptional was their understanding and thoughtful approach to my partner’s cat allergies. They educated me about the fel-D1 allergen compound and recommended specific products to minimize the allergen's spread in our home.Their patience was truly remarkable—no question was too small, and they addressed all my queries with detailed answers and genuine smiles. It’s rare to encounter such dedication and kindness in customer service today.Kevin and Devaun went above and beyond to help me make informed decisions, and their advice was invaluable. They were not only professional and knowledgeable but also exceptionally kind and understanding. Their assistance made me feel well-prepared and excited about our new family member. Thanks to them, I left the store feeling grateful and well-informed.I believe that such exemplary service should be recognized and rewarded. Horrible grooming. I brought my mini golddoodle here because my groomers van was down. This was the worst cut in her 2 years of life. Now I see why vets say never go to these places.Here is a cut from her regular groomer vs what she got at Petco Rockville, absolutely unacceptable. This is pure laziness. It was easier to just shave her. Needless to say I will never go to any Petco again.Pictured below is her groomers work vs Petco. I am happy her hair is finally starting to grow back and she was able to go back to her groomer.

We scheduled an appointment for our 12-year-old dog's grooming at Petco, seeking a professional touch for our senior furry friend. While the online booking process was smooth, our experience at the store left us quite disappointed.Upon arrival, we were met with a rude response from the person at the reception desk when he learned that our dog was a senior undergoing grooming for the first time. Without any explanation or attempt to find a solution, he abruptly left the desk, leaving us confused and frustrated.After a brief wait, a lady approached us, informing us that they are "corporate groomers." This information was not specified on their website, causing further confusion. Unfortunately, she failed to apologize for the inconvenience or express understanding of our frustration, even though we explained that we had canceled other plans to prioritize our dog's grooming.We suggested that they communicate their limitations on the website or at least have an alert system to avoid such situations in the future. However, the response we received was disheartening – "I have no power." This lack of accountability was disappointing.In writing this review, our hope is that it serves as constructive feedback for Petco to improve its website communication and train its staff in better customer service. Customers, especially those with senior dogs, should be met with understanding rather than confusion and frustration. We believe that with some adjustments, Petco can provide a more positive experience for all pet owners.

I had a good reference about this store but today, 6/5/24, I went to buy 4 dyes for men and to my surprise when I got home one of the boxes were empty 😡😡 how is it possible that I pay 14 dollars plus taxes for something that does not exist, that's too bad

Terrible service. From the minute i walked in. If i could leave 0 stars i would.First the clerk spoke to me as if wondering what i was doing there, when i mentioned i had an appointment she looked surprised. First thing out of her mouth afterwards was that my pup bit previously (during his first time at a groomer at that). I'm pretty sure that was his first note on file so clearly hadn't bothered to look at his profile prior to our coming. I agreed and said it was his first time and he hadn't since.3 hours later calls me that he would be ready in 20 minutes, same time they close. Cool, whatever, I was around. I get there and then proceeds to tell me that 5 minutes after calling me he started barking and couldn't finish the cut bc a male colleague walked by. Took me 15 minutes to get there so confused why she didn't try again after he'd calm down.He is brought out and not one bark. Not to mention that when we first got there, he did not bark at all. The male colleague was there both times i was present. Hmm.To top it off, she asked why i hadn't nuttered him yet...Safe to say, she was way too opinionated and not thorough enough with the service she was actually paid for.I have been going to petco for the past year at different locations at that because i moved to the area and have been seeing which one is a good fit for us but I have never felt so unwelcomed and left so dissatisfied. There were at least 4 'groomers' just standing around and not one could finish the job.I have never left a review before so this goes to show just how bad of an experience it was. If i were you i would not come here and I would definitely not have Brianna attend to your dog or serve you.

Let me tell you something LESLY IS PHENOMENAL IN GROOMING. I love her she always does an amazing job with no direction from me whatsoever she needs a raise and if she ever leaves I will follow her wherever she goes! She is very friendly, helpful and is literally the only reason I get my dog groomed there!!!

DO NOT bring your pets here. Especially for grooming (Not including the guys, they’re awesome)! They cut the inside my puppy’s ear and didn’t say a thing about it. Everyone makes mistakes, but speak up and take accountability.Terrible service overall for this store. Jamey is miserable in his role. He should find something that he’s passionate about. He obviously hates his job!

This place is HORRIBLE ! I came twice in one week to try to buy birds and all associates said they could not help me. I waited 45 minutes just for them to tell me that the “bird specialist” was not there. Then on the second time I went I asked for a simple parakeet and the guy said he doesn’t have the staff to help me ? I am so confused on why this store is even open if they can’t do simple costumer service.

I went here with my puppies because it was raining and they needed to get their walk. The store was fun to walk around and gave them lots to sniff. I found a sweater/jacket on clearance for 4.00. An amazing find. The cashiers were polite and got thru the line quickly. I also go here for their shots. It is pretty busy on those days but you make an appointment online and I have not waited very long. It is fun to look around at the animals.

I purchased an exotic bird and the handlers at our local Petco were AMAZING !!! Connie and Joe were especially attached to the bird I chose to take home and we actually took pictures of the bird with them. They were sad to see her go but happy that we were taking her home. They asked that we bring her back to visit as well. They set us up with just the right food toys and traveling cage and made everything so easy for us.

This store needs to be closed down. It's an embarrassment to the PETCO brand. The floors are disgusting, there's merchandise everywhere and the associates are VERY RUDE! When I went to drop my dog off the young lady checking him in wasn't pleasant. Extremely stand offish and I almost didn't leave my dog. There was one associate who was well known and I wish I'd asked her if I could select her as my puppy's groomer. Came back to get my dog and the customer service I received was minimal and almost as if I was an inconvenience. I went to check out when another line was opened and JAMEY (caucasian man) raised his voice at me telling me there's a line when I came over. Proceeded to ignore me although no one came over. I then waited for him to acknowledge me. He continued raising his voice at to which I stated sir stop raising your voice at me. He then decided to snatch my dog's grooming receipt out of my hand and rings me up. I'm done with PETCO . Corporate is being called Monday morning. How disrespectful can you be . If you don't want to work at PETCO quit but don't make customer's who are the only reason this place is open a problem when you're having a bad day after all, this is retail and not a career. He tried the right one today. Your job is done sir.UPDATE : BRIANNA THE SERVICE PROVIDER CUT MY DOGS EARS AND I'VE CALLED CORPORATE .There are 2 cases open on this location .DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE !

Friendly staff, great service helped me to bring in items for donations. I now know that the donated items scratching posts for the cats are gonna go to a home. Dedicated to Smokey the grey cat and Bella the White cat who both died from the kidney disease during the Covid19 time. I am sure that they'd be happy to see these scratching posts go to a good home.

I searched their website to confirm that they carry freshwater live shrimps. It advertised all kinds of color shrimps BUT there was NONE on site. There's no live shrimps for sale in the store. A few employees were kind of rude, ignored me. No one asked if I needed any help as a matter of facts they tried to avoid me. They did not say hi back and pretended I was not there. Such a bad place, bad business, bad customer service. The only friendly person there was the cashier. She's the only one say hi and talked to me. I finally found the food for my goldfish and left.

It's very unfortunate to say that todays grooming for my two dogs was not good at all. My youngest dog ,who apperently had some anxiety and kept urinating in the kennel, came back with an injured (back) leg after being informed prior to the appt she was found to have arthritis in both of her back legs. The lady who had assisted me had given me an estimated pick up time of 12:30pm...not even a whole hour later after drop off which was around 10:15am I get a call at 11:09 saying my youngest dog was having anxiety and kept peeing in the kennel and I needed to get there by 11:30 to pick her up. I had gone all the way down to Laurel since we 1. never had this issue before UNTIL today with a different clerk and 2. I would've had until at least 12 to finish my errand in Laurel. I dropped everything I was doing to get down there asap and 27 minutes later I get a call asking for an ETA. I made her aware that I was coming all the way from Laurel and the gps said it would be 19 minutes. With an attitude she says okay and hangs up. Once I get there I'm greeted with nothing but the nastiest of looks and terrible attitudes. Being as I am 7 months pregnant I had absolutely no intention on trying to go back and forth or argue with the lady. Clearly, she doesn't know how to push her feelings aside and even though I know it's probably not ideal to have to want to clean up pee so often...you work with animals, they are expected to pee or poop even. Very disappointed mostly at the fact my dog came back injured. Hope these women do better.

Hello, I come here to share my experience in this store.Last Friday I went to the store at 7pm and the store closed at 8pm I knew exactly what I wanted it was dark in the fish area I asked for help and the salesperson said he couldn't help me because there were only two people closing the store and he didn't even ask what I needed it and turned my back. I went to the fish area to see if they had the fish and he came to me and told me not to stay there as it would stress the fish. such a big store with horrible employees

Be aware this store smells like the animal shelter. You will need to take an allergy pill before you walk in. It absolutely reeks! I couldn't complete my shopping I had to walk out. I don't even know how the employees are able to withstand the smell. They need a deep cleaning and new flooring.

Terrible grooming experience. They reached out the day before my appointment asking me to arrive 30 minutes earlier than scheduled. I agreed, which meant waking up early to take my dog. I arrived at the revised time only to be told that they couldn't fit the grooming in and that they would need me to come in a different day.

This store is awesome! It's clean and we'll light. The animals are well-cared for and the staff is friendly. I went to get a few new fish for my aquarium because 1 of mine recently died 😢. But, I'm happy to have been able to go to Petco and see how great the tanks look 👍👍. The reptile enclosures were pristine 💯 I would have bought a snake 🐍 if I had the money today! 😜

The attention they provided to my pet was delayed because even though I had an appointment, there were many pets in the waiting line and they also did not inform us that the pet's vital signs were not taken before the visit, which I valued for the utensils that were there. using for the pet, they also do not explain the side effects of the vaccine they give to my pet

The staff is helpful. However, Petco's feeder animal policy is unorganized, but this loccal seems to be getting a good handle on making it more efficient.I believe they have addressed the unorganized policy. The staff is still friendly and seem generally interested in helping. Half star upgrade.Great Staff!!

Skip this place if you’re looking for a groomer. Scheduled with Trish but was given a novice named Kendall because Tish called out. The groomer called 7 x back to back because my pup was biting the brush.Kendall mentioned that my pup was matted and he was trying to brush out the tangle. Clearly it must of hurt. I was told to pick up my dog but was confused because he has gone to Petco for grooming (Germantown) for a year with no issue. Kendall asked if I could pick up and bring him back in THREE days. I refused. He eventually said he would get help and I could pick him up later. 5 minutes later Kayla called back and demanded I pick up my dog. When I asked why she said, “You just need to come get your dog.” I told her she was rude. She said if you don’t like my performance, you can talk to my manager. I continued to give her feedback she continued to cut me off. Then said, “ I don’t need feedback.” After going back and forth, she finally hung up.I called my regular groomer in Georgetown and asked if my dog had ever bit and she said, “No never.”I’m not sure if they salon is under staffed or Kayla was having an off day, but I will never be back! It’s incredibly frightening folks like Kayla are in leadership at Petco. She clearly unteachable and doesn’t care about the customers.Do yourself a favor, book with Olivia at Georgetown. She is awesome!Update: not only is the partial haircut my pup received horrible, he was being cut. Of course he was bitting.
