They deserve zero stars for the lack of customer service. Short -brunette with short hair is the worst of them. If I have to deal with attitude and bad energy from this current staff I don’t trust them with my puppy’s care. I used this vet for my first pet and the young ladies at the front desk were awesome. Clearly, they just hired anyone to replace a competent staff.

My bulldog recently had entropion surgery done with Dr. Benson. My usual vet quoted me more than 3 times what AVC was able to do it for. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, and my dog’s eyes are so much better now! Thank you to all who were involved in Beau’s care. Highly recommend this practice for surgical procedures at an affordable rate

Good doctor, but dealing with customer service is a constant struggle. They often promise to email blood results but forget, leading to multiple unfulfilled promises until I drive there myself. Additionally, they tend to put me on 30-minute holds and forget, never bothering to return calls. This has been my experience for two years, even after lodging complaints. That’s the reason for my two-star rating. I’m hopeful for an improvement that will allow me to revise my review more favorably in the future.

I worked here for a month. Dr benson needs to retire. Nothing there is clean, your pets are going into a hell hole. If you don't believe me just simply ask the angry owner for a tour. Check out the kennels where your pet will stay. Also look at his criminal record with the state vet board.

My baby sky injured her ACL I was worried,She tore one before and it was extremely expensive. I brought her there and they took excellent care of her. The bill was more then half of what the previous vet charged me. Sky has made most of a full recovery. Thank you Dr.Benson and staff.God bless

Moo-moo & King have been here for 10 yrs. With Dr. Benson by their side i know they will receive the most efficient, caring, attentive knowledgeable, care any animal can receive. Ms Jean the Office mgr is as caring and understanding as well, she has helped in some pretty big spots. I love them both. Dr. Benson has been in this business for years and can spot an issue in a split second. He also has his own animals so make no mistake his love for animals is goes farther from the office. Moo-Moo was recently diagnosed with an enlarged heart 3rd stage heart murmur and this is hard on me every day. I'm taking videos and pix everyday. She is my best friend. She has attacked for me, she lets me use her harness to pull me up if i fall. She is my best friend and has no problem showing her loyalty. King is my baby boy the Yorkie n he's just as full of life as when he was as a puppy. For a dnall 11 lb. Felliw he has mire heart than a pit-bull. He will run and jump on some1 or something alone or together to porotect myself and l them. I in turn would do the same for them. Moo-moo won 2nd place for mixed-breed at 2018 Dog fest. I love her so much. I'm praying she has many more yrs to come. Their both 12 n God blessed me with 2 little ones for me to love n nurture. Dr.Benson prices are very reasonable as well. There's no other place I'd rather take my babies than Advanced Vet. So give them a call , don't wait till its to late. Get your dog spayed, neutered, monthly flea and tick specials on 6 packs. Heartworm monthly specials also. For grooming see Mary she has a way with your pet and makes sure THEIR comfortable and then she begins her grooming. Don't hesitate to go to Advanced Veterinary complex. You won't regret it. I know.

DO NOT USE!! Bad customer service..zero stars!Went in today for heartworm step 1 and was not the best experience dropping my dog off. The lady who came to take my pup away had a looped leash and came right up to her without even saying hi or letting my pup sniff her, just attempted to put the leash around her neck as she scaredly tried to hide behind me to avoid her. No compassion. The two receptionist staff could not answer any questions about how long it would take, said to just call back at 4:30. She went in at 7:30 and I was told a half a day. So 4:30 is not a half day, that's a full day minus 30 minutes. The support staff should all be on the same page. That is a common question and should have an accurate answer to schedule around work and kids, and other obligations. Also they kept talking about the dog coming in the next day for every possible procedure, kinda unprofessional in my opinion.Edit 3/21/23..taking my dogs chart out of this place. 24 hours ago I requested a call back due to my dog vomiting after treatment and no call. Drive there with my dog in tow, was seen immediately by the Dr. who couldn't return my call. As I expressed my concerns, and the lack of help, he said he could leave now and stop talking to me to go and continue to help other dogs but he "made time" to talk to me. He confirmed the receptionist nor vet tech I spoke with the night prior did not leave a message to call me back. He only had a message to call me back was from me calling again at 12:30 this afternoon.

Benson is great with clients and their furry children. We have taken 5 of our pets here. Recently, things have really fallen off. We waited 3 days for antibiotics for kennel cough. This was never the case before. It seems that finding good team members has effected the practice. If you get Dr Benson you are in good hands. If you need to deal with most everyone else good luck! Some are awesome and others are not good.

I’ve been going to Advanced Veterinary Complex going on 6 Years. I first started out taking my dogs their, then once I got cats, took them as well.I have spent all said and done, THOUSANDS of dollars on services & procedures at this establishment.Tonight, with no warning, I was told that my 12 year old Cat would not be able to get his prescription filled anymore unless I came and saw Dr. Benson for an expensive, and down right unnecessary exam.I only have 10 days worth of his medication this month (prednisolone) for reference to now last me till I can schedule an appointment, and be seen, which will most definitely mean my elderly cat will be without his medication for a good while, since they never have enough staff for prompt appointments. Obviously, I will not be taking my Cat to them any longer.My cat was diagnosed with Asthma, clear cut & dry. Prednisolone and his bronchodilator (Terbutaline) work wonders for him, and allows him to breathe easier, and have less asthmatic flare ups. He needs this medication to LIVE! And to be told, with ZERO warning (no letter, email, call) that tonight was the last night for his prescription to be filled without an expensive exam,Well frankly, It’s down right unprofessional, and stress inducing financially for the pet owner and seriously neglectful and dangerous for the pet.This is even hitting harder because I was told this without warning just before the Holidays when finances are always a little more tight for everyone. And then well knowing, I only had purchased a short supply tonight that wouldn’t last me the month. Even though, I’ve been picking up his prescriptions from them monthly for well over 3 years. (My cat has seen a specialist for asthma and wellness check ups within that time frame, but not Dr. Benson directly for said care)Dr. Benson is an out right business man first, uncaring Vet the latter. All he cares about is the money grab. He gives zero you know what’s that my cat needs his medicine to live and breathe, he just wants me back into this establishment to milk more money out of me, and cause my very elderly cat stress. I looked him up and was horrified at all the public documents against him and his practice.You would think maybe it would have been a good idea to notify the Pet Owner prior? A letter or email, shoot even a call to get a heads up that he wouldn’t fill it for me anymore? That’s why I’m writing this review, merely for the zero warning about the change regarding the prescription, which is DANGEROUS.As for the ladies behind the desk, They are only his messengers, so no harm to them. This is all purely directed at Dr. Benson and his quickly failing business.TAKE YOUR PETS ELSEWHERE — if you would like to have proper notice about upcoming expenses, and common decency.Happy Holidays!

We took our dog Joey to this vet multiple times because my dog was in pain and peeing all over the floor. We took him there for 2 months and they kept telling us he had a uti and kept prescribing him antibiotics. We took him to a new vet two weeks ago to find out he had aggressive kidney cancer. These secretaries are very unprofessional and we couldn’t even get his paper work sent to his to the new vet we were taking him to. They ignored our request for weeks and our calls. we couldn’t get urine results from them, and we could’ve prevented some of the pain and suffering My dog went through if they hade properly examined him in the first place.

I’ve taken my pets here for over a century. The reason I am now given 1 star is because my dog hurt her leg and I’ve been trying to schedule an emergency appt for five days now. I was told to take my dog to the ER. I took my dog to the ER and they honestly mentioned that I should just call my Vet bc the cost would be extremely high which wouldn’t make any sense not to call my vet for an appt. Why in heavens would I spend the money on the ER when its not a dire need. They do not value their patients. This has happened twice now. So now I am forced to start looking for another VET.

I made an appt for my cat to get spayed in early January, for February 27, 2023. I took her this morning to the vet and when I tried to check her in they had no appt made for her. I didn't cancel it. I had all their info, and the directions that they gave to me for the night before and morning of. Very disappointed with this vet front staff. If they are disorganized with their schedule, imagine how they treat your animals?! Very disappointed. I won't be scheduling there again.

HORRIBLE place. I bought a dog that used to see Dr Benson here. I have been calling for a day and a half. Over 24 hours to get the records so this poor dog who is missing half of her fur can be seen by my specialist. And they keep telling me they will send the records over when they have time. I just called again and got yelled at. She (front desk or management I don’t know) yelled and said “you keep calling me and I have patients here”. Well my new dog needs to see a vet as well. And needs old records. It shouldn’t be that hard. She said “you keep calling and calling and that’s taking my time away”. As if she was working on my dogs records in the first place. This is beyond unprofessional and ridiculous. They need to retrain their whole staff. They took zero notes every time I called I had to give my email where to send it and what to send all over again. Each person I spoke to had no idea I had called before except for the last one that screamed into the phone. Gross. Just gross.

This is the ONLY vet I will utilize or refer clients to in regards to any concerns with their canines. I truly appreciate Dr. Bill Benson expertise and overall suggestions. And the staff is always attentive and helpful. I love the relationship they afford their clientele. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Dr. Benson & his whole staff are so comforting from the time you walk in the door, in the patient room & Dr. Benson is the best. He has taken care of Bear since he was 8 weeks old. The technicians here and most of the Secretarys always have an attitude! I had an iffy feeling about this place and i was right if you have Frenchies and you breed them dont bring them to this place to give birth THEY STEAL THE PUPPIES! Today they STOLE Mines and now Dr Benson wont return my calls and when i was there to pick up my dog & my 1 puppy he didnt even wanna show his face. THEY KEPTED MAKING EXCUSES FOR HIM! I had a clear sonogram of my dog she was gonna have 3 to 5 puppies you can see in the picture. when i called to see how she was doing they said she only had 1 PUPPY! Not possible!!! THEY STOLE THEM AND NOW THEY DONT WANNA ANSWER TO ME! DONT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR FRENCHIES TO GIVE BIRTH HERE!! I WILL BE SEEKING ACTION!!!!!!

The service here has gone downhill since the pandemic hit. I would go elsewhere if my dog hadn't been going here for care his whole 12 years of life. Dr. Benson still does a good job caring for my boy, and the staff who answer the phone are usually pleasant. But everything is so delayed now. I can't get an appointment right away unless it's an emergency (costs more). I've had to wait a week, and before it was next day or two. I call in for medication refills and have to wait till the next day. Many times when I get there it still isn't ready and I have to wait even longer. I used to call, and it be ready later that day. Im not sure what happened, but I've been disappointed lately.☹

Dr. Benson did emergency surgery on my dog immediately. I thought hygiene was poor and workers weren't routinely wearing masks, though they did if asked. Front desk was polite and professional with my question.I wasn't allowed back with my dog, and I worried about hygiene and sanitary procedures.

Excellent staff and doctors! They always take care of my super difficult, very anti-social dog with no issues. They are very patient and have worked with me and my dog for over 7 years. I honestly don't know what I would do without them, as my dog has high anxiety and really only gets along with people he is familiar with. Because of the staff at the kennel I have been able to go away on multiple work and personal trips without having to worry about my little buddy. And the groomer Shelly is AMAZING! I cannot say enough good things about her...she is just an awesome person! She takes excellent care of my dog every time she grooms him, and gives him special attention anytime he's having a tough day. Love this place, and recommend them to everyone I know.

Top-notch service all the way around. Prompt treatment, professional front desk and Dr. Benson treated our elderly dog with great professionalism. Clean office, no racket like other vets making you wait in the car. Best vet practice in Northern Maryland / South Central PA.
