The new Cabin John Liquor store is now named Oak Barrel & Vine. It's located on the front side of Cabin John, directly next to the Starbucks & Giant. This store is the future look of the ABS MoCo stores. There's a built in tasting room, wine library & plenty of beer, wine & spirits to choose from. This place completely outshines the old location that was on the back side of the plaza. All of the staff is new to this location as well, ABS likes to shake things up & they definitely did so with this new location.

A standard Montgomery County Liquor store dressed up to be something more than it is. Disappointing selection and misleading atmosphere. Workers and staff are unfriendly, especially the older gentleman with grey hair. I asked him a simple question and he responded with enough attitude to sass a crowd. Why does this place exist? No clue. But it’s just a standard ABS. The Potomac location is only 10-15 minutes away and has a better selection and friendlier staff. Wont come back here, I advise you stay away too.

Older, tall gentleman was very helpful at swiftly guiding me to find what I was looking for. He checked and brought restock from the back for me as well. Pleased to find some brands that we couldn’t get or had limited stock of in Virginia.

Great selection, great staff, and they even have a tasting room. I miss the old Montgomery County liquor store in the mall nearby, but this one is really neat. Great effort by MoCo to branch out with more upscale liquor stores.

More of a convenience shop, run by the alcohol monopoly of MoCo (I believe that's called socialism?- that's a joke people...kinda). Anyway, I go here in a pinch, but VA (e.g. Total Wine) is WAY better because it has much more selection, and prices are at least 30% less for beer and wine. I go to VA to stock up and use this place to fill in when in a pinch

If I could, I'd give this newer concept store 3.5 stars. It is located in the increasingly trendy Cabin John plaza near a space that used to be inside where it was the typically dowdy almost Soviet-like Montgomery County liquor store. This one is nicer, but seems to have fewer products. For example, refrigerated products are not an option. From time to time, there are free tastings available in the back whether beer or wine. But that seems a bit unpredictable.So, pro's are:-Nice compact design.-Prices are lower than found in some other nearby states.Con's:-Limited selection.-Nearby parking lot gets crazy busy. I'd advise parking in one of the less busy areas and walking, unless you have a case of wine, etc.If you want much wider selection, go to one of the larger country stores nearby including in downtown Rockville. The parking is better there too. Total Wine, nationally known, is 20 minutes or so away in Northern Virginia. There's a Maryland store in Laurel, farther away. Otherwise, privately run stores might have better selection of wine and cold beer.As locals know and mostly lament, Montgomery County has a unique approach to liquor retailing and wholesaling which limits supply, but also keeps prices down. The revenue is used to fund government operations, as opposed to taxation. So, there are two sides to that coin.As mentioned above, this is a shopping center that's improved quite a bit through renovation and new offerings in recent years. There's plenty of fast casual or better dining nearby and a Giant, CVS and dry cleaners nearby.

This is the refreshed new designed alcohol and liquor store. The new store is vibrant, very welcoming, and has a good collection of spirit's.Bravo to Maryland and Montgomery county to launch this redesigned store. The staff have always been very friendly and warm.

Great customer service. More than one person offered assistance upon my arrival. The gentleman who ended up helping me gave a lot of info on whiskey and helped me select a bottle of rye I was buying as a gift.

Two different men at this store have been very rude on several different occasions. Not sure what the attitude is all about. It is a very easy county job... I see similar issues in other reviews.

For a county run facility, I found this remarkably upscale with lots of products that were fairly unique and well presented. In addition, the staff knew most of the product line and could direct you to what you wanted to get. Not surprisingly, they have special offerings and tastings where you might find a line of people at the door waiting for the product to arrive or the store to open.

Very nice looking store. This is the flagship for other ABS stores. The layout was a bit confusing. The prices and customer service was fantastic. There is plenty of parking.

I drove around for an hour looking for the Montgomery County liquor store at Cabin John. The address listed on ABS is 11301 Seven Locks Rd. No mention that the sign says Oak Barrel and Vine and the address is actually 7913 Tuckerman Lane. I finally called the # on ABS and they answered Oak Barrel and Vine-mystery solved. The store is very nice and appears well stocked.

This store was a gem about 3-4 years ago.... Now it is quite possibly the worst ABS store in the county. I honestly do not understand the attitude at this place- constant disrespect to customers & absolute lack of motivation to provide an even halfway decent customer service experience ever! God forbid you have to deal with Nestor Reyes.Do yourself a favor and go to one of the many other amazing ABS store in the county. Montrose Crossing, Muddy Branch & Potomac Village all offer a clean store, friendly employees & a much better selection of wine, beer & spirits.Have a great day and stay safe out there!

Visited the store for my xmas shopping and its beautiful inside. More upscale than the old county shop in the mall. I was suprised to hear that it was a new design for the county stores. Help could not have been nicer.

Awful service to say the least. I went into the store the other day and asked one of the associates if they had a specific kind of drink in stock. He said they didn't have it and didn't even bother checking inventory. I eventually found it on my own after combing through the store and informed him that they did in fact have it. He then had the audacity to lie to my face and say that I had "called it something else." On my way out the cashier also proceeded to act extremely passive aggressive to me for whatever reason. Clearly the staff her is unprofessional and I will not be shopping here again.Look boys, this isn't rocket science. If you're getting paid to do a job then you might as well do it right. Take pride in your work. Even if it's something as minuscule as working at a liquor store.

We usually go to the Rockville liquor stores but wanted to try out another one. The Cabin John clerksman denied my 30 year old husbands Maryland ID because it was the old version and still had years until expiration. He denied our $200 purchase of rare gin and other items. I’m writing this bc it’s unacceptable to subjectively decide to not accept a completely valid Maryland ID when it has not yet expired, just b/c it doesn’t “look great”.
