Megan is fantastic, our puppy attended the 6 week off leash obedience training and it has completely changed our lives! Walks (on and off leash) are now a breeze, she loves going to her place to settle/relax and knows to go there when guests come in/out of the house. Her impulse control after training is better than mine! We’re thrilled we could send our pup for training and she loves going back to visit her best friends there for boarding as well. Our family is forever grateful to Megan and all the incredible staff at Delmarva K9 for taking such great care of Millie!

I just brought home my Working German Sheppard, I rescued from New York State. My boy has a very high drive and I knew my level of skill would not be enough to make sure he had the best quality of life and environment he deserved. I learned of Delmarva K 9 and J.C. Richardson and his background from a friend. I knew from that point forward, this was where I wanted my companion to learn. I met with JC and one of his skilled trainers Meghan and discussed a plan. They layer out a 3 week program where he would have his obedience skills honed in just for his nature. I picked him up today and he's a different dog. So we'll behaved, still has his Hi drive but I have the control rather than he doing his own thing. I'm going to get him acclamated then I want to move on to Blood Tracking for Wounded Deer. The facility is kept very clean, every dog there is treated and kept in the safest environment ever. There's not enough stars possible for Delmarva K-9.

I board my dogs at Delmarva K-9 whenever I'm away, and my dogs are returned to me happy and well taken care of. The kennels are very clean and very roomy, and I feel the care is excellent. Highly recommend.

After doing an amazing job training my very stubborn, and head strong, Anatolian Shepherd, I take my dogs (3) there for boarding. Even my little one, that doesn't like anyone, loves them. Everyone is always so friendly and it doesn't break the bank, boarding 3 dogs at once. Wouldn't take my babies anywhere else.

I have three dogs who are all high energy, and over 50lbs. The team at Delmarva K9 are FANTASTIC!! They greet my dogs like they are their own, are flexible with all their needs, add on services same day if I need a bath or want to give my girls extra play time, and overall just obviously care about what they do. My dogs never come home stressed, and they’re always happy to go see the chickens and their favorite team members. I recommend this place to everyone 😊

I did the 4-week boarding training program with the shock collar ($1,600), and I feel like I have a brand-new dog, in a good way! My dog is a 4-year-old female pit/lab mix and the main reasons we did this training was she needed some stability, leash training (over excitement when passing by other dogs) and guest training I call it (barking at my guests). She was walking us on the leash and not the other way around and she would continuously bark at my guests that would enter my house which is scary for my guests, as expected (it echoes in my downstairs). Now, the trainers have instilled the place command where she must remain until she's calmed down and released. As far as the leash training, with the combination of the training, prong collar and shock collar she doesn't even really look at other dogs now! it's such a relief being able to have guests over and they be more comfortable as well as me. It's also a relief that I can go on walks with her and not have to go the other way to avoid her having a reaction. She seems much calmer in general and it was good socialization for her too. She's still pretty hyper for being 4 years old lol.I will add that she contracted conjunctivitis (allergies/pink eye but for dogs) and the receptionist let me know right away so I could get her an antibiotic, had a few scabs that I'm not sure where they came from, and her front left paw was extremely swollen, but it seems to have gone down now.Also, they have a company cellphone where you can get picture/video updates from the trainer of your pet which I really liked!

If you have been looking for a dog trainer, look no further. I can’t say enough about Megan! I appreciate her knowledge and expertise, but more importantly she is warm and welcoming to even problem dogs, understanding they may have come from a not so great environment ….. so she tailors their training accordingly. When we were having a little issue with an dog we rescued Megan and JC offered to come to our house just to see our dog in his environment. I feel our money was well spent for folks who take pride in their work and actually care about animals the way we do.

I sent my puppy to Delmarva K9 for boarding and on leash training while I was traveling and I'm so glad I decided to do this. I had never boarded a dog before and was extremely nervous but Delmarva made me feel safe before and during his stay. Pam was especially amazing! Megan was my pups trainer and did a great job, he is so much more of a joy to go on walks with, now we can't stop walking! Two other people stood out but I cannot remember their names, the person who greeted us, handled intake and reassured me everything would be good and the person who did the send off, you both were wonderful.

Delmarva K9 provides individualized training for both the canine and the owner. They offer a variety of training options to suit different needs. My Malinois went to them to obtain good foundation skills. We then did individual training sessions to help make us a strong team/ family. This group of trainers are excellent! I highly recommend them.

Definitely saw improvement on my bully. She still has her excitable personality but much more manageable and can control far easier. Boarding is great too. It was worth the money.

I am a helicopter mom over my two large dogs and Delmarva was safe, responsive, and amazing! I was passing thru for a festival, and while searching for a kennel, Delmarva had the most accommodating times for weekend pick ups. Prices were fair and affordable. I also felt at ease knowing they had trainers around as my dogs have some leash/barrier reactivity. They showed professionalism and concern for staff when they said they needed to assess my more agro pup, who had no issues once out of car and in their care. . To me, that says a lot about the staff and their ability to connect with the dog and help them feel at ease over rushing intake. Facilities looked homey and farm-like, away from any major road/traffic, which is a big comfort to me. I also had a bit of anxiety while away and reached out after hours - I was extremely surprised to have gotten a response and pictures, putting mind at ease. They even told me they have alarms in place should a pup somehow manage to get out and assured me my babies were safe.All of this to say, it felt like a friend of the family watching the kids. Highly recommend and saving their number for the future. 10/10

JC and his staff are professional and knowledgeable on all things K9. We have been using Delmarva K9 for six years and they have always treated us and our pups like family. We were referred to JC when we received our first Cane Corso pup six years ago and realized we were way out of our league with training our precious girl. JC worked with us as well as Bella and she has been the best dog we’ve ever had. We recently adopted another Cane Corso that did not have a great start so we contacted JC right away and started her training. JC and his staff have been right by our side with Harley and she is a completely different dog now. We cannot thank them enough!

On June 5-6th my two Great Dane's stayed overnight at Delmarva K9 for one night. My dogs were labeled as “leash walk only.” They were diagnosed with pneumonia and our vet bills neared $4000. Ghost would have died otherwise. I am not alone.The emergency vet stated several other dogs were hospitalized with a very severe case of pneumonia after their stay at the same kennel. I immediately informed the kennel of my dog's diagnosis. I asked the vet and they said they informed the kennel as well after the first three cases.After sharing my dogs experience on social media (without mentioning the kennel name), several others messaged me to to let me know about their sick dogs just like mine boarded before, during, and after at the same kennel. It took weeks for the kennel to make "the tough decision" to close, meanwhile their customers' pets were terminally suffering and new ones were getting sick.While discussing assistance with vet expenses directly with the owner, I was referred to contact their lawyer. Delmarva K9 blocked me from their Facebook page. My account access on their portal to access my pet information was revoked as well. My dogs seem to have recovered, but my friend's young dog was not so lucky. He lost his life after battling the illness's contracted at at Delmarva K9. She was blocked on Facebook too. They did not offer condolences. They do not have one negative review on their Facebook page, and we found that is because they are blocking anyone who leaves one.

We have boarded with Delmarva K9 many many times and have been extremely happy with the care and love they have show for both of our dogs. We no longer have to worry about how they are being cared for and we can relax on vacation or out of town. JC, Heather, their family and their staff care for all their clients like their own.Our rescue hound is a graduate of Delmarva K9 as well. Their training team did wonders for an unsocialized hound dog from a hoarding situation, with no skills ...he is now living his best life ever with us.Everyone at Delmarva K9 is professional and trained and I look forward to boarding my dogs there again very soon. Hands down the best in the business!

We are very pleased with our Harley Blu. She was a difficult dog. She follows commands and doesn’t run off. It is really worth training if you have problems. Megan and Hope were good with Harley.

Delmarva K9 is the bomb! I can't say enough wonderful things about JC, Heather and the staff here. I sent my 2yo rescue Shih Tzu there for obedience training. I live on a busy road and very close to a public park. My dog loves children and I worried everyday that he would run out the door and across the street to see them. Also, he would never listen and walking him in the park was not a fun experience as he would stop at every post, barrel, and pick up anything he could. I decided on off-leash training as my children and I also wanted to take him camping and to beach without having to worry about his safety.My only thought after having him back for nearly a month - WOW! I can walk my dog in the public park off leash and he stays right by my side the entire time. I can can tell him to stay and he stays right in that spot even though we walk 50 yards away. I feel so much better about my dog's safety now! The long term relationship between myself and my dog has been greatly improved thru this training!Another great thing about the staff is that they truly care about your dog. My dog loves to go back and visit everyone.Thank you, Delmarva K9!UPDATE on 1/3/21I have used Delmarva K9 twice now. First, for my rescue Shih Tzu - Yoshi, (review above) and the second time for my Pomsky Loki.Loki was brought to DK9 for obedience training as he was an absolute wild child. He would never listen to me and would constantly run away from me whenever I needed him to come in the house (fenced yard). It was maddening, and definitely created stress for our early relationship. It was also difficult because my other dog was so good after his training.Upon his return his behavior and listening skills had greatly improved. So much so that the stress that was present in our relationship was no longer there. Dog training is not a cure all for everything. The owner and the pet must continue to work at the newly learned skills so they don't slip back into old behaviors. His initial training allowed me to do just that. We learned to patiently work together and grow a trusting relationship with one another. At training Loki learned to leash walk, basic commands such as sit, down, stay - which he could do for prolonged periods while I walked away. But most importantly, Loki would come when called. I would create games that would reinforce this behavior and in time he would quickly respond to my call of - COME.Loki and and Yoshi also go to DK9 for boarding when I travel for work. They take great care of my animals. They are also quite affordable, especially for multiple animals.It is also with great sadness that two weeks before Christmas, at only 2yrs 4mo of age Loki was diagnosed with Large Cell Squamous Cancer with a mass next to his heart. This progressed so quickly that only one week later the children and I had to put Loki to sleep. We are devastated with this loss, as is his bonded friend Yoshi. But the time we spent together and the close friendship we experienced was made better by his training at Delmarva K9. For this we will be forever grateful. He will be sadly missed!

We had a very positive experience with our dog at Delmarva K9. The facility was great, the staff was always helpful and really nice and the lead trainer was very knowledgeable. Our sweet dog seemed to grow from the experience and we are already seeing a positive difference in his behaviors. We plan to return in the future.

Our rescue Daisy was a handful and we were at our wits end. The staff at Delmarva K9 graciously helped us with her during a 3-week board and train with E-collar. They were flexible with scheduling and worked with us to schedule around our vacation so we wouldn't have to board her at a different time than her training. They were responsive with call backs, patient during training with my husband and I, and very caring and sweet to our little girl. After we left Delmarva K9, Daisy had a set-back and they came to our house on a Friday afternoon, on what worked best for our schedule, and helped us at home get Daisy back on track. We will forever be grateful for the staff at Delmarva K9 for their help training our little Daisy who is a great, well-behaved dog now. Thank you everyone at Delmarva K9!

The staff at Delmarva K9 was flexible to work with my dogs around a schedule that worked well for me as well. My pups never seemed apprehensive about being dropped off there which tells me that they were treated as I would expect them to be and cared for as I would care for them myself. One of my girls is very stubborn about being told what to do to the point where she was not fully trained as I had hoped when they completed the training, but the trainer has discussed with me about them coming to my home to continue the training. They want to do everything they can to train them properly and are willing to go above and beyond to accomplish that. Job well done.

Our dog contracted Canine Corona Virus and mycoplasma pneumonia while at this kennel and was hospitalized. He died 6 weeks later after turning septic.

They are amazing with my dogs! One of my dogs can be a little challenging but I have no problem taking him to Delmarva K9! It's always a great experience and I love that you can get other services like their nails cut and baths!
