I've been going to the Safeway for about 5 years prior to the Safeway I went to the one in Jacksonville and I became somewhat of a Safeway snob, just kidding kind of. Both offer different experiences and sometimes you can get some items at one and some items at another but that only has to do with the supply chain. I downloaded the app, use the rewards program, if I know I need certain items I will go ahead and purchase in order to get more rewards and overall I can reap the benefits of free items or dollars off and I can pay $2 for a $18 bag of dog food or pay $0.99 for bread that would otherwise be $5.99. I've always found the staff to be funny and Interactive and helpful at both locations. We are a local community and we love our local people whether it's as a customer or or someone who works at local businesses.

I don't usually shop here but it's the night before Thanksgiving and I need French fried onions, because the other place doesn't have them. There seem to be a lot of cars in the lot, so I'm prepared to a) not find what I need, and b) wait in line a long time. But.... found them right off, and the line was short!

I typically like Safeway because of the great customer service and the deli items are delicious. The store brand produce is also really good quality. On the other hand, I had a really horrible experience with customer service recently. Ms. Tammy at customer service needs a refresher on customer service. I am sure she is a wonderful person outside of work but she should not be working the customer service desk. I do not usually address employees directly but the service was so bad that I am warning others to not visit when she is at customer service.

Let me start off by saying I have been a union member in the construction industry for 36 years. After I heard Safeway was also part of a CBA I decided it was time I patronized this store that employed union members much like myself.I walked in and went right to the customer service desk to apply for a members card, because of the sale flier I received in the mail,appeared to have better deals than the grocery store I had been patronizing for the last 25yrs.The first thing I noticed as I walked into the store was how dirty and unorganized it was(product seemed to be sitting in the isles because there was no more room on the shelves and grocery carts were few) I waited 10 minutes at the customer service desk to apply for a members card but a Safeway customer service employee never showed up to assist me so needless to say I will never return to patronize Safeway I will just stick with the store that has been faithful to me since I was a kid going there with my parents. Shame on u Safeway!

Whoever the girls were working the deli the afternoon 12/17 need lessons in customer service. They were more worried about gossiping about their coworkers then helping customers. I’ve worked retail for over 20 years. If I acted like that I would have been fired. Their behavior was disgusting. They were clearly upset with me disrupting them.Food safety clear was not a priority either. I’m surprised the health department hasn’t shut that place down.

Honestly the bibigo chickens are the worst; I will not be ordering this frozen product again; it's just the chickens that seriously sucks bcus Everytime I have tried it deep fried, pan fried, or baked; it all gives me a headache; salt content way too high. Otherwise this would be a five star review but three star review because the potstickers, dumplings, bao rolls, and especially the bulgogi dumplings are definitely five star taste.

Long wait for customer service with 1 person in line Pick the coupon on app if not looking at the register it doesn't take off the sale price advertise in the circular. Customer look at the receipt before leaving the store if the price total is the sale advertise

The store is fine, maybe a bit pricey compared to their competitors, the bigger issue is it's a little bit too complicated of a shopping experience. They have lots of deals and sales if you use their app, the problem is the app doesn't work that well, it often doesn't sync up to your customer card account, and you have to spend a lot of time at the register working with the cashier to try to figure out which sales price are being recognized by the app and which ones are not. Trips that should take 15 minutes end up taking 40.I don't understand why there's such levels of complexity. I know Safeway wants people to use the Safeway app, but if the use of it is prohibitive to people shopping at your store, or they can't figure out what sales prices are on the card and which ones are on the app, it just makes for unpleasant shopping experiences most folks don't want to repeat.

Now if you love flowers, especially carnations. This is my go to store, brought some flowers for my Birthday celebration on 12/06/20, these flowers were still popping three weeks later.

At the end of this month I will no longer be shopping here. It’s close and convenient I live two minutes away so ofc I come here but 4 times in one week my fruits have had MOLD on them 3 strawberries and one raspberry, and I was looking all the way at the bottom and thought I was safe until I noticed the molded ones were in the middle. And I mean once I started looking all the raspberries had mold inside and when I went in yesterday you can see all the fruit had mold it’s displayed not even hidden. This has been going on for a while now and my main problem is if you guys are going to be so expensive at least have quality ingredients! I’ll be taking my money else where.

Great store. Cashiers are the best. There is a young man in produce who is rude. Doesn't want to answer questions or help. Bakery is poor. Other safeways have a better Bakery department. This one is poor. Mostly boxed. Very little fresh baked bread. But meats, and shelf items are great. They have everything

I just love the Cambridge Diner. I've been going there since I was a kid. Still has that awesome AUCE Salad Bar and the best Hot Turkey Sandwich with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy anywhere. Put Cambridge Diner into your Wazexand simply enjoy yourself. Cap it off with pudding or ice cream, which comes with your meal! Yum!

The aisles are much smaller than other grocery stores. Barely room for two carts to pass each other. The people working there aren't particularly friend and their self checkout is very slow. That said, the store is well stocked and clean

Wow, not sure what happened but today, a Saturday—there were more than 2 open cashiers and my guy was top notch. He was truly hustling and super polite. Not to be snarky, but someone was finally paying attention in hiring new employees.I’ve been a long time shopper here more out of convenience, than love for it. Today was a bright one for this place.

Everything was fine until the lady supervising the self checkout that only had 2 people in it was short made my sister feel like an inconvenience for dividing payments between 2 cards! Literally doing absolutely nothing at that moment. Said it couldn’t be done and when my sister asked if there was ANY way she said “ I’ll have to suspend it and walk 5 feet to my station to process the payment! Do better!

Horrible experience trying to order a cake for my son from the bakery. I called them prior to Corning to inquire about the time the bakery was opened. The person who answered the phone, answered it as if we were talking on her personal line. Finally transferred to the bakery and was told that the person who takes cake orders would be in early afternoon. I come in so around2pm, waited for someone from the bakery to come to the counter and they never came in. I went to customer service and they said the cake decorator would be in around 4pm. Came back at 445pm, to place th order, and the associate that was there says she does not take orders because she is not the cake decorator and to come back TOMORROW at 930 am! Can’t believe this location has screwed up this bad and inconvenienced me.

I love to shope Safeway but after yesterday I don't know. This cashier is the rudest person on earth her name is India. She charged me for an item 3 times and voided once then I told her that I was charged 2 times and she said she voided. After a few conversations, she realized and she voided the second one. Then she became mean and mean she ignored I existed after I put my card to get my receipt she gave me her back and I tried to talk to her a few times and then she responded "I'm waiting for manager " . At the end threw the receipt to me.

This store is clean and well stocked. The only downsides are that the bakery does not carry as many products as it used to, and that the prices have drastically increased - even on Safeway brand products.

The cashier was good and I hardly shop at Safeway but I did today I left my cart for a split second to put the other cart away and some lady that works there came out and asked if the cart I left for a minute was mine. I said yes I dont know what her problem was but this is not how you should treat your customers.

Went in here hoping they would have decent balloons and helium. They did and the manager who was working did a great job. It saved the day and my grand daughter's birthday because apparently there is a helium shortage.

I experienced the most amazing customer service today at the Safeway of Waltham woods rd in Parkville, MD by a young lady named Raina in the deli. I called and asked if they could do a last minute same day catering order for a tray of some sort to be ready in a few hours. (Remember it’s July 3rd, busy weekend). She told me that she could do a sandwich tray and have it ready. Some of their other trays required more notice. She was a great problem solver, and prepared a beautiful tray for me at the last minute. I called several other places before calling Safeway that were rude and told me not a chance. Raina went above and beyond to help me and was polite. I had to get a few things so I was checking out in the line and she personally walked the tray over me. Not only was it ready but the presentation was also beautiful. This experience exceeded my expectations and I had to immediately write about this exceptional employee. I manage others in my career and Raina possesses the qualities of a successful leader that will surely inspire others! Thank-you for being a wonderful asset to all!

The butchers are awesome here… one thing that seems to be disappearing these days is a REAL quality butcher. This Safeway has butchers that hustle and actually have blood on their aprons like they’re supposed to because they actually cut meat for a living in house. Many places are shifting more and more towards prepackaged from an outside facility. Those places have lost my business. A simple example… I like my steaks cut thicker than the market typically demands from the case. So I always ask for custom cuts, and at this Safeway, they have always been more than happy to help me. To the Safeway gods… you retain your butchers, you retain my business.

I usually LOVE this store. Like my favorite grocery store in the area. I left there today feeling really uneasy. There was an older African American woman with very short hair behind the customer service counter ( 10:30am) and a guy walked up to get a ticket cashed and she got annoyed with him! She said “I’ve been on my feet all day I’m tired and I’ve been trying to sit down” so he apologizes (for what? He did nothing wrong) and leaves. A minute later a woman is standing there waiting for help, the same thing happens. She huffs and puffs and has an attitude. THEN, she says to one of the male cashiers (young African American kid who’s always super kind) turn your light back on. He basically told her that when she sent him in break he couldn’t go because he had a line full of people. She says “Oh well, now your going to wait”. I am STUNNED at the absolute ignorance this woman provided not only customers but staff as well! VERY disappointing.P.S- the only reason their races were mentioned is so management can identify them :)

This was not my best Safeway experience. I had not been to this one before. It is a pretty large store. I generally found the employees to be unhelpful. I probably will not go back again. They have a Starbucks in the store.Plenty of parking as well.

This SAFEWAY takes EXTRA steps to satisfy the customers! I was behind a customer today that wanted a cashier to hold his place in line while he checked to see if another cashier had a customer!!! I gave him a SPECIAL look. He was silent and changed his mind.

This store has a consistent serious lack of cashiers, the prices are high and the staff are hit or miss. The produce section is awesome, the girl who works in produce does an amazing job and it's the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1. The meat department is pricey but the meat selection is better than the other grocery store across the street by a country mile. I only shop there when I need something I can't get elsewhere or it's the only store open. It's a shame because we used to shop there regularly but the lack of decent customer service drove us away.
