This review is super late. I stopped by on Saturday, 10-1-22. I had not been to a Safeway in many years. I picked up a few items for my travels. As one of the biggest Ravens fan, I was happy to see items I wouldn't usually see where I live.

Seafood and meat department never seem to be open during business hours. The store is never really adequately stocked either. I was told there was a call out today and so Seafood never opened. Hire people and pay them decently

visited Safeway in Owings Mills and Bree was our cashier. Bree was not friendly at all. When attempting to ask her a question that she had to call someone to get confirmation on a price for a product, she ignored me after several attempts. There is no need to have such a nasty disposition when dealing with the people who come there just to shop. We did not initiate her calling. She chose to make a call for herself. Once she got off the telephone, she was not nice. I really wish that I could give NO STARS AT ALL. Bree’s behavior was totally unbecoming of what someone who work in an industry dealing with customers should be. My husband and I will no longer shop there.

Short gentleman who monitors the self-checkout couldn’t be more rude if he tried. I alerted him that there were no carts near the left entrance and he said “yes there are”. I went to go check and again, there were no carts. All of the carts were located near the right entrance (which closes at 8 pm). I told him this and he didn’t bother to look at me. Just nodded his head. It was extremely off putting and rude. Maybe Safeway should have a training on basic manners. Look at people when they talk to you.

I purchaesd an eggplant and the label says $1.79 per pound. When I checked out, it became $4.49 per pound!!!

The self checkout, although there are employees to always help and they do the best they can, can often take quite sometime. Not the fault of the store... the customers have a rough time with the concept, efficiency or being preoccupied (mainly cellphones) and have ZERO consiseration from those who are competent. They have opened a few more self checkout stations which has been very helpful. Nice and clean. The gentlemen that work the customer service center are ALWAYS super friendly, helpful and efficient! LOVE them!

I stopped going to this Safeway because as another user mentioned, you cannot take shopping carts out onto the parking lot. I discovered this only AFTER, I'd loaded my cart with groceries with a baby in tow. I was shocked that I had to carry the baby and somehow juggle 10+ bags in my arms to the car.Never went back. How does that make any sense???!

Great prices and a good selection. The produce section definitely needed to attended to. There was fruit that was going bad and a lot of the green vegetables bins were empty. A few of the aisles were at some point being restocked but the cart was in the way and no one around for a while I walked pasted the asile twice and it was not improved.

Second time in and I was greeted by a nice white gentleman who pointed me to the candy I was looking for, self-checkout was quick, in and out. That's some good service for a market.

Do not sign up for the FreshPass program. The first order went ok, and after that, they were always "out" of milk and OJ and other basic items. They delivered strawberries with very visible mold. There is no way to get a refund on the freshpass, but it was a huge ordeal to even try.

Only giving 2 stars because the cashiers and meat department staff are friendly. This store has the worst produce section EVER. Things are constantly molded and just not fresh. The smell of spoiling seafood overwhelms the back of the store. Ive seen flies trapped inside of the donut case on occasion and have seen new goods be placed in cases without proper sanitation. Bakery breads and bagels are often stale. The cooked food is often overcooked and has a bad charred, dirty taste. Ive found options on shelves expired multiple times. There is not a great variety of quality products especially if you require options for a vegan, organic or allergy sensitive diet. Overpriced for the quality.

Sometimes they can be pricey, lol. The deals are amazing 👏. The $6.99 for a 3lb bag of wingettes/drumettes with NO LIMIT can't beat. Especially, this week until today April 20th, 2023. Get deal often, thank you Safeway. The app is useful also.

This location seems to always be short staff. The produce section tends to be low, and the vegetables and fruits tends to be spoiled so this Safeway is my least favorite.

Place has gone downhill over the past couple of years. Frequently things are out of stock and the place just doesn't have the same appeal as other grocery stores. I don't even want to know when the last time the space between the front entrance automatic doors was vacuumed. The place is understaffed and it's obvious. I don't understand why I saw more Starbucks baristas working than employees just poor management and the clientele is also weird. Okay I'm done.

This Safeway grocery store had decent grocery prices and I was able to find what I needed, but it had a strong odor radiating out from their seafood department that was overpowering to the senses. As soon as I walked through the front door, I noticed a strong odor and as I neared the seafood department it was evident what the source was.The staff was kind and friendly, but if I lived in the area it'd be hard for me to shop here regularly because of the seafood odor.

I hadn’t shopped at Safeway before but will definitely be back! Digital coupons makes shopping here enjoyable and cheaper than some other grocery stores and it was easy to find most of what I was looking for! Love how easy it is to add your coupons when checking out!

The store is always clean. The staff are unobtrusive but available when needed. The bakery items are absolutely delicious, convenient, and stand up to homemade. The meat department is great and if I can't find something there is always someone willing got check for me.

Prices are priced higher than Giant and Trader Joe’s in my opinion. I don’t shop often. They have a 50% miscellaneous sale shelf in the back of the store I visit frequently though. yet I wasn’t able to purchase a half opened missing paper towel from the shelf. The manager preferred telling me that someone stole the other paper towel roll and tossed it for trash instead smh. It was 6:29am I went to buy some folger coffee Folgers for 13.29 cents. While at the check out a lady came up to me after I scanned and paid for my coffee and Receive my receipt. She told me I needed to pay for my coffee, I proceeded to tell this lady I already paid for the coffe and I would not be paying for it agaIn. Safeway if you have someone manning a station like self checkout they need to be Monitoring their station. This could’ve turned real ugly real quick, but being the person that I am, I’d let it go.

I went at 4:15pm on October 29th. I accidentally asked for a pumpkin spice latte instead of Frappuccino. When the order came out I apologized and asked for a frap instead offering to pay the difference. She said it’s fine and made a frap using the latte which did not taste like it was supposed to because the ingredients are different. I apologized again for being difficult but asked that it be remade again because it wasn’t what I ordered. She gave me attitude the whole time and even her coworker asked her why she was being so rude to me. It was remade again from scratch this time but there was so much syrup in it like she was trying to spite me. I took it and left but threw it out it was so gross. I get that I made a mistake but it’s not like they had any other customers and I was quite nice about the situation. Thanks for ruining my day.An exhausted new mom who just needed some caffein.

This Safeway has the rudest employees I have ever seen. Don’t bother asking them anything because they are to stupid to know the right answer anyway. Also the African Americans that work there are racist as well. The bathrooms are worse then the spot a pots. Go to giant down the street for better service food etc.

This store has greatly improved over the past few years. The last time I was here (in 2019) the store was a little disorganized and the produce was not as appealing. The store is much better now. The produce was very high quality, as I would expect from Safeway, and the store was very clean too. Their coupon policy has always been better than nearby Giant grocery stores. In 2019, when I visited this store a few times, I used many coupons and was even paid the overage. The next time I need groceries when I'm in Owings Mills, I will make sure to come back to this store.

Clean, organized, amazing selection of everything- including meat department!Have been my go to pharmacy for many years as well.Carries products that Wegmans doesn’t- literally has THE best croissants 🥐, Chobani drinkable yogurt flavors that I haven’t seen anywhere, the freshest ginger you will ever see & just the most delish radish. 5+ 🤩👌

Safeway is not just a supermarket ;it can be an experience. Like most markets, you grab a sales paper and go after some bargains. However, in Owings Mills, this store has a lot to offer. Friendly staff that are willing to help you. Restrooms are usually clean. Also, unexpected sales that are not listed in the sales flyer. A Starbucks and a really great hot food's bar. Safeway can be highly priced on some things, but the quality is there. I have tried several different locations, but this is my favorite .

So I have frequented this Safeway for 1.5 years off and on. This store is nice, clean and usually has the items I am looking for. My only gripe with this place is the older black lady at self checkout. She never knows what she is doing, and seems like she is oblivious to what is going on around her. I have observed this lady watch an elderly women fall, and not even tend to her. Also, someone cut the self checkout line, and another customer had to intervene, while the self checkout attendant was standing right there. It is clear she seems tired, and maybe aged out of the position she currently has. Either way, she doesn’t seem like she is too attentive to customers or their needs. Other than that, this store is cool in my book.

Always a pleasant shopping experience and I can always find what I'm looking for (and if I can't find it, there's usually someone who can help).UPDATE - This visit (4/15), there was NO frozen corn on the cob! None, no national or store brand. What's up with that? Also, I wanted to buy a store baked pound cake but the cashier couldn't find the price (no QR code), wouldn't take my word for it and told me that a "price check" would take awhile. I had to leave the store without it. Disappointed...

Today I had the opportunity to not shop in peace at this store location where I felt as though I was being profiled not once but twice. Once where I was pushing my cart with a few items near the produce department and a 1090 (African American) male associate asked me did I need a cart. I was puzzled being as though I did not have anything in my hands but he also saw me pushing my cart. The second time was at checkout where a 1091 (Caucasian) male that I see often first stated "That's a lot of paper towels why do you need so many?". Then I had five detox bottles that I decided to scan one bottle five times and skipped bagging (because the screen will not continue if you do not place items in the bagging area - which is already a headache) and the machine prompted for assistance. I then stared at the associate staring at me as if I do not need any help and as he clears the screen I place the remaining four bottles into the shopping bag. He then stated in a loud tone "OH NO YOU HAVE TO SCAN SOMETHING FIRST BEFORE PUTTING THEM IN THE BAG" insinuating that I was under ringing my items which if he was paying attention to the screen he would have seen all five items accounted for. I felt offended because I shop at this store often. However, I did take the time out to speak with the manager on duty Dwayne who stated that he will have a talk with the associates. This situation made me feel very uncomfortable and I will not step foot into that store again.

Curbside pickup was really easy, the young man was really friendly and fast. Highly recommend 👍If you are doing curbside, park in the loading zone in front of the store, there is no designated parking.
