Really clean location with wide open parking lots. They don’t have sushi here. The staff is friendly and everything is fresh

very bad experience at the deli. after i picked up my order i looked around the store some lie looking for some ice melt. when i couldn’t find the ice melt i started walking to my car and Rey the employee followed me outside. he then began screaming at me: “SIR!! YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT!! SIR!!” when i calmly tried to explain my mistake he called me a coward. i have been shopping at this harris teeter for more than 10 years and i have never been disrespected like that in my life. fortunately the manager on duty, Steve, was able to help me checkout and apologize to me. be warned if you go to the deli, make even one small mistake and Rey will scream at you and berate you as he sees fair. please do not go to the harris teeter deli

Debbie in the floral department was amazing. Offered to wrap our flowers, made them look great and easy to present to the person we got them for. Friendly, efficient service

I love this grocery store. The cashiers are some of the nicest people. I had an awesome experience with Dennis the other day. Such a nice guy. This store connects with their community, which doesn’t often happen in other places.

I had an unfortunately negative experience here , much because of an employee named Nicky who manages the meat and Deli section . She made extremely rude and biased comments towards myself and friend when picking up food and we definitely felt harrassed and uncomfortable. Please Harris Teeter address Nicky’s behavior with dealing with her staff and customers.

It still feels like it should be BJ Pumpernickel's and the Olney 9, but apart from that feeling the only thing I have to say against the store is that the checkouts aren't always as fast and fully staffed as they could be.Product selection in the store is excellent, and they tend to have a lot of stuff that Giant doesn't stock. If you don't normally shop here it's worth stopping in every once in a while for that alone.Prices are slightly higher than Giant but the quality is there. I've never felt ripped off, and always do feel like I've gotten a good value for the money. Sales and specials are usually good but not unbelievably low.The service is usually very pleasant, polite, and competent, unlike Safeway. The prepared foods (especially the pizza bar!) are a definite step up from those in the other grocery stores nearby. The parking lot is by far the best, way better than the Safeway and Giant lots. More than once have I gone here after not finding any good parking at the other two.

Customer Service Sucks, Or maybe it’s just against black people. I never felt so uncomfortable. There is clearly a race issue in this store. We are not living in the 50s,60s or 70s anymore! We are all equal. Educate your employees ASAP!!!

Big and clean with plenty of variety. If only they had aged beef and lower pricing

We generally like this store, but have been continually frustrated by the expired or nearly expired Simple Truth gallons of milk. Often we’ve found skim milk that is a week out of date. We’ve tried twice to point out the issue at customer service, but we still find old milk. The third time we left the expired milk in the refrigerator case, and three days later the same gallon was still there. Does management just hope they can pass off old milk for increasingly high prices to their customers? Very clear sign of a lack of attention to details and safety.

I have been a loyal Harris Teeter "home shop" (online) customer at the store in Olney, MD for more than 5 years and have seen the service gradually decline, which compels me to write this review (and retract my earlier 5-star entry). Originally, the Teeter home-shop team was supportive and customer-centered--now, they are rude and too busy to provide good customer service. They consistently ignore and fail to make substitutions for home-shop (online) orders; they have hung up on me multiple times when I call in to clarify a substitution (and don't call back). They act like their online client base is a bunch of entitled, rich people, who don't deserve help. I do not belong to that demographic and juggle two jobs & three kids; my spouse also juggles multiple jobs. The Teeter team doesn't seem to care what life situations cause a customer to rely on the home-shop option, and they assume their online clients are all "rich and lazy." The worst part: the Olney Teeter is actually a tad more expensive than the Olney Giant and Safeway. I used to justify the extra expense because I did not have the 2-3 hours a week to shop for my family, so I needed their service (and had to settle for their hiked prices). Now that all the grocery stores offer online/home-shop options, I won't go back to Harris Teeter...ever. I urge others to try the online "home shop" service at the Olney Giant or Safeway. They still value their customers.

Appeared nice, but lines seemed longer than necessary. I didn't see any self service lanes and I had only 2 small items. Had to wait behind folks with full carts. My first time here. Maybe the lanes were closed or I missed them. Either way, if they were there, they weren't marked well.

We love this Harris Teeter. Always great service, very well stocked and clean. The only downside is that their fresh produce does not compare with the Safeway across the street.

Nice and super clean. Very organized and well lit. Products easier to find and I found products to be cheaper than Giant. Friendly staff. My first time there and I'll go back.

Never been in a Harris Teeter before. Honestly, I'm not sure why people rave about these places. I was thinking they were more upscale, but they're definitely more along the lines of a Safeway. Not that there is anything wrong with that, just not what I was expecting. They do have a nice bakery section. Deli seemed on point as well. I was less impressed with produce. Staff seemed friendly enough, but I didn't need help while I was there.

A great atmosphere to shop in with a clean and big space with decent lighting. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is a lot of healthy options and lots of well known products. The deli section includes a variety of different cheeses, meats, etc. Also, there is a Starbucks located in the store and a quick ordering area for pizza, salads, or subs.

Mostly OK but their rotisserie chicken, although tasty, are the size of squabs and overpriced for what you get. Love the fried chicken especially for $5 for a bucket on Fridays. They seem to have less people working at the registers from when they first opened. The wait times are getting longer. I have also noticed that some items run out and they are not quick to replace them. I find this store on the expensive side. The produce seems to be inconsistent in quality. The deli meat is good though, and there are special days for sandwiches. Most of the time the people who work there are very nice.

Very unhappy with my catering order for Mother’s Day! None of the tops closed, it was a nightmare trying to drive home with the food. The chicken tenders were burnt. The consistency of the “bruschetta” was watery and looked like salsa! The dessert tray wasn’t great! The deviled eggs had no flavor at all and tasted like nothing! That’s just to name a few! $150 down the drain! I will never spend another dime there.

I love the pizza from Harris Teeter. The lady who prepares them are the best. She always makes sure to offer nice slice and ask if customers want heated or not. She is also so very nice and customer friendly.

It is good to have a Harris Teeter in Olney. Harris Teeter is a Super Market chain that is a cut above the average Super Market. Always organized well and pleasantly laid out. This location seems pretty hassle free. Was very clean and was easy to shop in. Self Checkout was super smooth.

Always good produce. My favorite store in Olney for fresh fruits and vegetables. Staff are very nice and friendly. Not as experienced as the Shoppers staff were, I always appreciated that Shoppers employed adults. Most Harris Teater employees are very young. They have good sales, but some things are priced a bit high when they're not on sale.

I just had a fantastic experience at Harris Teeter. This is my usual go to grocery store because it is always clean, always has what I need and the service is consistent, friendly and most importantly, fast!I ran in early this afternoon, stocked up on many neccesities, plus dinner: NY Strip Steaks. All went well, and Mark, my cashier was friendly and even funny! I was getting ready to cook dinner, and I can't find the steaks anywhere. I went through the freezer, the fridge and even the trash. I checked the car, the countertops and asked each kid. I checked my receipt: Yes, I bought the steaks. I called the store, and was asked to come in and check a bag which was left behind. The bag had steaks, and sausage and a few other items, but it wasn't mine. The manager and Mark were very helpful. I was sent back to the meat department, and walked out of the store with new steaks.I understand that this is unusual, and that times are certainly strange. But the staff was kind, friendly, respectful and accommodating.

I went to the store looking for a particular item that I wasn't able to find and an associate by the name of Lauren was very helpful. I'm big on customer service and I would return because of her.

First and foremost, I'm usually not the one who writes reviews whether positive or negative; but my mother's recent experience at this location was absolutely RIDICULOUS. First, my mother was charged twice for a $53 item, simple mistake which was fixed (as they should). Once arriving home she opened a couple of items one being the $53 item which was charged twice in the store. The items were vitamin supplements which when opened both were damaged one with the cap broken and the other the bottle was broken. Not even a couple of hours went by before going back in an attempt to exchange the defective items. My mother went to customer service but was told by Kim who said she was the store manager and serves the right to not allow my mother to exchange the defective items. Which I don't believe is store policy to not allow exchanges. She rudely told my mother this was now consider fraudulent because the item had already been refunded once. I'm sorry, it was not a refund your clerk charged her twice it only made sense to refund something she wasn't purchasing. I mean how insulting, items she paid with her debit card and not necessarily asking for a refund but a simple exchange for non defective items. And you call that fraud??? Then rudely told my mother to leave the store immediately. My mother left without the items she'd already paid for to prevent any altercation. We decided to call Harris Teeter's corporate office to inform them about the nasty treatment by this Kim manager and was told the district manager Dave Wright will be reaching out to my mother within 48 hours to resolve this matter. It's now been 5 days and no one has reached out. This matter is not even about money, it's the principle. Calling my mother a fraud for something she'd paid for and all she wanted was an exchange. Needless to mention she has spent hundreds of dollars at Harris Teeter. I am totally appalled by the treatment she received. I will be telling everyone I know to NEVER again step foot at a Harris Teeter. Will certainly have our attorneys reached out again to their corporate.

After finding my usual grocery store to be lacking lately, I discovered Harris Teeter and couldn't be more pleased. The store seems to be very well maintained so far as cleanliness, and is generally well stocked.

We were there late at night. Such a friendly and nice experience. Ronald in the meat department helped me to find something that was close to what I wanted but later he came galloping up to me with his long young legs and brought me the exact thing! That just never happens but it happened there. Thank you, Ronald. And special shout out to Mary Raye who helped me in the vegetable aisle.

I love Harris teeter in general because of the great prices (if you have a membership) and the tasty samples. It's an above average grocery story with above average customers (if you know what I mean). The workers aren't the faster, but they are personable and respectful.

The Olney Harris Teeter is the best local grocery store. The food is fresh. The prices are great. They are flexible with coupons and will accept moat competitors coupons. Customer service has been top notch. There are always samples and those grocery carts for kids to use.

Nice store and helpful staff. I did have one issue with an employee but after I talked to corporate ( they didn't have a store manager at the time) he has been very nice. The parking lot is crazy so be careful. Love shopping late at night, not a bunch of people.
