Ordered a dishwasher on December 4. Had to wait until December 22 for delivery and installation. The contractor from Lowe’s (installer) refused to do the installation because our pipes were supposedly outdated (our house was built in 1997). He left the appliance and told us that we had to find our own plumber. We finally got it installed by Byco on January 19. When we ran the appliance for a test, there was an error code indicating a problem with the drain sequence. Byco discovered that the appliance was leaking due to a large bump on the lower side (see photos).I went personally to Lowe’s to report the issue on January 23. The Lowe’s employee first told me that I can get 10% off if the product is damaged. I told him that it doesn’t work because it’s leaking. Then he asked when was it bought. When I replied that it was purchased on December 4, he replied “that’s a long time ago!” Not realizing that it was only installed 6 weeks later.This was likely a refurbished item, or one that got damaged when assembled together.I am flabbergasted that a company as Lowe’s doesn’t do its quality control due diligence prior to sending supposedly NEW appliances for delivery.The employee then took my information (phone numbers, etc.) and disappeared for 20 minutes, supposedly talking to a manager. He then promised to call me back the next day.As no call was returned the next afternoon, I proceeded to call Lowe’s main number and got into contact to the appliance department employee who then told me he had no time for me, as he was busy and would call me right away. HE NEVER CALLED BACK.We followed up on the next day and talked with a manager. The manager told us that a technician contracted by the manufacturer would come to our house and inspect the appliance. The technician came on January 29, confirmed the manufacturing defect and told us that the faulty part will need to be replaced. He later called and told us that the part is on back order and he had no date when it would come (could be 3 days, 3 weeks, or 3 months).We contacted again the Lowe’s manager. Finally Lowe’s agreed to take back the appliance and refund our purchase.It is now almost two months after the date of purchase and we have to start back to square one. But this time we’ll go with a local appliances business.This concludes the saga. I am updating the rating to a 3 due to the agreeable outcome. But CUSTOMERS BEWARE: Lowe’s focuses exclusively on SELLING. Keep your fingers crossed that the product is working. Any follow up (including installation and/or troubleshooting) is done by contractors.

We have had problems with a carpet order. Ordered on Nov 5th, was told it would be in at the latest Nov 15th. Called multiple times each telling us later & later. As of today it's 2 weeks late & we were told its now going to be in Dec 6th. I'll believe it when I see it. We were told its who the vender shipping company. I found out the carpet brand is actually owned by Lowe's. So the blame is on Lowe's that our carpet is now scheduled to be here 3 weeks late. There should be a credit to the account for this.

Worse place ever. Said they price match. But they don't. Cashier said had to be within the area. Had to load my pellets my self. Guy acted like a crime to do it.

The whole experience was terrible! Purchased in store did a pick up later , go back to get it , husband waited an hour !! Finally they come up w our tub... box destroyed and wrote all over which probably means it was returned once, husband asks to open before leaving and it a left handed not a right that I purchased. They had no more in stock And refuse to order us a new one, said they were discontinued and that one was on clearance which was why it was $201...I pull up Lowe’s site and low and behold it’s NOT discontinued BUT to order online the right was $70 more (269.99)than we paid plus shipping .... they refused to make it right and said they didn’t have to honor the price difference because in store it was a “clearance” item . It was NOT clearance .. then to top it off they put my refunded my money on to a store credit and wouldn’t give back a gift card so not only did I lose almost $100 on the same exact tub BUT I couldn’t even use the money that was gifted to me for that tub because they did a store credit and made me order it myself at a higher price. I think my business will now be going to mernards !

Ordered a freezer for delivery and it's been delayed 3 times now. Supposed to arrive 3 days after order, then was delayed to Halloween, then again to the following Sunday. Sunday rolls around and the delivery window keeps getting kicked back from the afternoon, to the evening, until I get a transcribed voicemail saying the delivery is canceled because the third party service ran out of time at 6pm when the window was from 4-8pm. Called customer service and was hung up on 5 times while the transfer from automated voice pickup transfered me to the front customer service. Got through on the 6th time to be hung up on when being transfered to a manager. Finally got through to customer service again and talked to the manager on staff. Was then asked to call back at opening, 6 am, to talk to the delivery manager to reschedule my delivery for first thing in the morning. Not worth our ordering an appliance from Lowes with this kind of customer service on deliveries. See if we get another 1 star review based on tomorrow's saga.

Ordered a washing machine online and was to be fulfilled by Oakland MD Lowes and to be delivered week and half later. The delivery service gave me a 4-hour window of when it will be delivered, 1-5 PM. Took off time from work to be home. They never showed up and called at 5:45 to tell me that they will not make it today. They rescheduled it for it to be delivered 2 days later. Again, take time off away from work to be home for when they deliver it. They call me again and say they cannot make it. Called the store and cancelled the order. Went to Lavale Lowes and they delivered it next day. The following week Oakland Lowes tried to deliver the washing machine that we had cancelled and already got our money back on. If we were dishonest people, we could of just took the washing machine for free. I understand things happen and come up, but there was no communication with me and the numerous times I called the store employees were not exactly nice to deal with.

Out of convenience we use Lowes occasionally if other small businesses in town don't have what we need. Several of the staff members are friendly but it can take forever if you need help with loading larger items. It seems like there's enough employees but if someone is busy running a register and backed up with a long line of customers several other employees noticed but no one ever came to assist with opening another register.

I used to come here as a maintenance worker for supplies, and it was always a seamless experience; prices are okay. Now, I am mostly frequenting here for plants. They have a good selection with an according range of prices. It's mostly a positive experience, but you do have to pay attention to pests on some racks to make sure you don't infect your other home plants, which has sadly happened before.

Awesome experience.. Reserved parking for vets told my father to park there went in store with my father a Vietnam Vet..Was greeted right away employee thanking my father for his service.. go not even two more isles my father was thanked again for his service. We are getting some plumbing supplies another employee comes up ask us for help and thanked him for his service.. we finally get to check out lane the cashier thanks him for his service.. Employees of the Lowe's of Oakland MD. I thank you... Made my dad's and my day a little better

I think we threw them for a bit of a loop when paying for a new fridge with a couple different forms of payment, but still great people. Decent selection and not hard to find assistance when needed either.Seems to be dog friendly there as well. I love dogs so its cool to see them walking around the store.

Good prices. Great sale prices. Good selection for most supplies. You need to sort through the lumber a little to find some straight pieces. Good discounts for signing up with Pro, gives you another 5 percent off. We spend about 1000 dollars a month here. Some special pieces of lumber we had to get from OC Cluss, but they were not the usual. Helpful staff, but a little sparse. Download the Lowes app and use the in store part to find hard to find items. Good appliance selection. Scratch and dents are heavily discounted. This is our go to for most items.

Make sure you read the warranty before you buy any product from them. We bought a self propelled mower from them and bought a 4 yr warranty. Something fell out from under it and caught on the blade and ruined the motor. They said the warranty didn't cover it. Basically I bought a warranty that was no good. So I'm out over 400.00. And no lawn mower. They said the warranty doesn't cover parts falling off . The warranty only covers 125.00 worth of repairs. A 99.00 dollar warranty only covers 125.00 in repairs. Think about that for a min.

Always warm and clean inside. Large print signs throughout the store make for easy navigation. The employees are always attentive, asking if I need help finding anything, offering assistance when I do and not hovering when I don't. Large variety of many household, lawn and garden and home improvement items. Definitely recommend.

Nobody around to ask questions to when looking for products in the bldg. supplies.Cashier didn't hand me or put one of my bags from purchase in my cart. Waited 10 minutes for an associate to meet me at Propane exchange. There were plenty at front of store generally hanging out.Had to drive 1 hr round trip to go get missing bag/items & that took too long once getting there.

Overall and enjoyable experience lots of products seem to be staffed accordingly, with the staff being somewhat knowledgeable in their areas. They could definitely improve by expanding on selection in different areas and offering better sales as well as different bundle packages for the power tools

It's a big box store with a large selection of products ie tools, building supplies, etc. Like the other big box home improvement store, if you're not sure what you need, or have questions, it can be difficult to find help in a timely manner. Also, like the competition, you'd be hard pressed to find any products that aren't imported from China. I recently bought some screws made to be used for wood, and when I tried to use them, the wood was stronger than the screws, and they broke after penetrating the wood about 1/2".

We purchased carpeting for two rooms in February. The installers arrived and installed the WRONG carpeting in both rooms. We pointed this out ti the store and they said they would take care of the issue. It's now May, and they have not refunded us or changed the carpet. We have talked to numerous people, including the assistant manager of the store. The level of incompetence of these people is remarkable.My wife has spent hours trying to remedy this problem and nobody at the store seems capable of doing the right thing.

I was at Lowe’s in Oakland at 4:30 today. Employees were wearing masks and almost all customers were also wearing masks. I needed paint—the paint area has plastic screens protecting customers and employees. Lots of signs on the floors. At check-out, employees were wiping down the counters with disinfectant. Finally, restrooms are readily available at front of store. Easy to wash hands and, without touching anything, exit the store. I was impressed.

This is a poorly managed store. I've had numerous issues here. The first being a hot water heater was damaged. It was within 90 days but they insisted that after 60 that I need to call the manufacturer. I halled it back to my car, called Smith and come to find out Lowes needed to accept it. Lowes then wouldn't honor the original amount. I recently used self checkout and accidentally scanned 2 items but walked out with 1. I tried to get it fixed but they are investigating it and it seems like a big deal with management.
