We love it here- we’ve been taking our rescue here for about a year (almost 3 visits she’s had here). The staff loves her, and she’s actually always excited to go in when we get there! Very nice space and you can tell they really care about your pets. Whenever she comes home she needs like a full day of rest (which is not typically of our highly energetic girl), so we can tell they really help her get good exercise while she’s there. Good price for the value. I like that we can bring our own food, or they supply food for free. They took these photos of her while she was there for her last visit!

I have boarded my elderly Siberian here several times. The Misty Ridge facility is clean, beautiful, and well managed. The staff are thoughtful, knowledgable, and deeply committed to providing excellent care for the animals in their charge. I am so grateful to have Misty Ridge as a resource to depend upon, and I highly recommend them.

We dropped our 5 year old dog who has never been boarded or been to a doggie daycare before off for one day to “test the waters”. We are new to the area and need some place safe to take our Trixie in case our usual pet sitter is unavailable. Misty Ridge took amazing care of our girl. They even sent me pictures of her nature hike during daycare. Trixie came out when we picked her up so happy she didn’t even run to us. It seemed she wasn’t ready to leave just yet! We highly recommend Misty Ridge. The facility and staff are top notch! We will definitely be using them in the future! Thanks for taking such good care of our girl Trixie!

We boarded Duke and Milo at Misty Ridge for the first time while on vacation. The facility is beautiful and they took such wonderful care of our fur babies. The staff was so nice and friendly. We drove from Hanover,Pa to board based on a recommendation and they did not disappoint! We will definitely trust Misty Ridge for our future boarding needs. Thank you to the staff!!

We received sweet photos and an email every day of our pup enjoying the countryside walks. She looked so happy in the green fields and got lots of affection during her stay. Came home in great shape!

We have used Misty Ridge for boarding our dogs a few times in the past. Just recently we boarded them again for our vacation. The staff is very friendly and you can tell they love dogs. Every time we have boarded our dogs they come back happy and clean. We will be using Misty Ridge once again for our next vacation this summer. I have peace of mind when leaving my dogs that they are well taken care of. A great place!!

A friend recommended Misty Ridge Kennels when I first got my puppy. I used to use friends / neighbors but wanted to not have to worry about their availability and was nervous using some of the other dog sitting / walking services. My dog runs up the stairs wagging her tail any time I drop her off, I get daily "pupdates" with photo of my dog who clearly is happy. The daily photo is an extra service. I also lovethey take dogs out and kennels are climate controlled .This time I also used their pet taxi service which they kindly b accommodated me with even though I didn't give them more notice. I'm very pleased.

The first time I left our German Sheppard with Misty Ridge was the first time we have ever left our baby with anyone outside of family for an extended period of time. When we arrived, the staff was very welcoming. While on vacation, the staff sent us the cutest pictures of our baby having so much fun. She was so happy. The second time dropping her off we had a peace of mind knowing that she was going into great hands. When we arrived she was so exited to run inside the building lol The staff loves her and she loves them back. The resort is filled with so many amenities that your baby will enjoy. From hiking, to spa bath treatments, to cool snacks. I can speak on all of this because our baby Sno has received all of them. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a safe AND fun place for their pets. Thanks again for the consistency in great customer service. We will be customers for a very long time.

Been using them for years. My dog was a rescue and has a bit of separation anxiety and barks nonstop during his stay. He comes home with laryngitis! But the staff doesn’t complain and is always friendly. They call the few times there was health issues, and are helpful with following up with the vet for checking or previously mentioned issues.

I have been boarding my dogs at Misty Ridge for over 25 years, and it is the only place I trust to board my dogs. The staff is very friendly and extremely good with animals, as I can tell from my dogs’ reaction when they arrive there. It is also an immaculately clean kennel and property. I have 100% confidence knowing my fur babies are in good hands when I leave them there. The owner, Joyce, lives on the farm property as well, and her kindness, love for animals, and knowledge of animals is apparent when you meet her. It gives me extra peace of mind knowing that someone is there full time. It is easily the most well kept and professional kennel in this area.

It's so tough to find a boarding facility that will be able to handle our nervous (and occasionally reactive) pit mix but this place was a GODSEND. They patiently answered all of my questions, and offered to have us come visit on site before booking. They sent us photo updates along with quick explanations of how she was taking to different techs that work there.When I picked her up she was clean, healthy, no injuries, and no noticeable weight loss (all of which have been problems at other daycares and kennels). We will absolutely be using this facility again and it's well worth the drive from DC. 5 star experience for our needy, anxious pup for sure.

I have trusted Joyce Burdette and Misty Ridge kennels for over 35 years. My six German Shepherds throughout the years have all come from Misty Ridge, and they have been both V scoring schutzhund dogs as well as loving, irreplaceable members of our family. Joyce is the only person I trust with German Shepherds, and Misty Ridge is the only place I would ever board my dogs. The staff have always been polite but most importantly, super good with our dogs. When you pull up, it’s not hard to tell that dogs come first at Misty Ridge.

We have been taking our German shepherds to Misty Ridge for approximately 20 years. They have received loving and responsible care and attention. Joyce, the owner, has shown herself to be a kindhearted soul. Several years ago, one of my shepherds was ill and suffering. She was very supportive of me emotionally during this difficult time. On another occasion while boarding our dogs, I mistakenly came in for "pick-up" when the kennel was officially closed." However, she left the comfort of her home to discharge my beloved puppies. I would strongly recommend this kennel.

I really, really love Misty Ridge. We've used them a few times over the years. This last time, we were supposed to be boarding two dogs but a few days before, one of our fur babies got really sick and she passed. Our other pup is incredibly neurotic and he had never had to be anywhere without his sister. When I got in touch with the team at Misty Ridge to let them know what happened they were heartbroken right along with us. They'd had them just a couple months ago and were genuinely looking forward to seeing how our monsters had grown. I expressed my concerns about G being by himself and they were on it. They went above and beyond to make sure he felt safe, secure, and most importantly, LOVED. We don't travel much, but when we do, Misty Ridge will always be where our pups stay.

This is the only place I take my dog for any duration longer than a weekend. They have a ton of grassy outdoor space, spacious individual kennels, and the people are great. I drive almost 2 hours to get to Misty Ridge but it's worth it to know my dog is well taken care of.

She apologized and assured me the staff will be made aware of my concerns.ORIGINAL POST:Disappointed in this place.We were recommended to go here by a family member. It was our first time ever boarding our 6-year-old White German Shepherd in a kennel scenario (as a last resort). I expressed my nerves and asked to see the runs where the dogs stay. They obliged, but were not comforting to my anxiety at all. They basically told me that it is common for dogs to be unsettled. I also mentioned that our dog may not eat while we are away and all they said to me was, "that's pretty normal." But I gave them tricks to get her to eat and asked if I would be made aware of her behavior.We had also purchased the "Pampered Puppy Package," but never heard anything about the play times or received any pictures of our dog on her nature walks - both of which were promised to us.Upon picking her up, it took them twice as long to return her to us. We watched 2 other customers get their dogs - 1 arrived before us, 1 arrived after. We waited long enough to start to worry that something was wrong. Then when we finally saw her, I asked, "was everything ok?" and the gentleman just said, "yeah yeah, sorry about that." And that was it.When we returned home, it was evident that our dog didn't sleep much while she was there. We immediately needed to pull over for her to relieve herself extensively, then she proceeded to sleep for 2 days. There were also 2 servings of her food leftover that were completely untouched (that is a full day's worth). No one ever let us know that she skipped meals. I had asked, "you would have called if there was something wrong, right?" and they agreed, "yeah."Overall, Misty Ridge generally lacked personal attention and comforting customer service. Our dog is our child and we would prefer that she stayed somewhere with more comfortable accommodations and personable staff.

We've purchased five puppies from Misty Ridge and they have been the most wonderful dogs anyone could ask for. I can't say enough good things about Joyce and I don't think I'd ever consider getting a puppy from anyone else.

I will try to be as professional as I can in this review. Please DO NOT take your dog to Misty Ridge. It could mean the end of your dog's life. I will never go back to this kennel, nor will I recommend it to anyone. I have a small dog who is very old and needs to have life-saving epilepsy medications given to him every day. They did not give it to him for 3 out the 5 days he was there. When we picked him up, he was covered in poop and pee and clearly had been having terrible seizures. We're not sure if he is going to make it now. He was perfectly fine when we dropped him off, but he looked terrible afterwards. On top of that we have another small dog and when we picked him up he had a chunk of fur taken out of his ear. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS HERE!

Joyce is the BEST! My wife and I have two shepherds from her and couldn't be happier. They are the smartest, healthiest, best tempered dogs. Joyce is a wealth of knowledge and answered all our questions and helped us all the way. We are currently training our youngest pup in her Shutzhund training class and have learned a tremendous amount from her! We highly recommend her and her puppies any day! I would give 6 stars if allowed.

This is a large clean and bright kennel. My husband and I came to visit on the spur of the moment and everything looked just as we would expect a well run kennel to be. It was a nice day and we had the pleasure of lingering to chat with Joyce, the owner. We also watched some schutzhund training. The dogs were happy and excited to be out and working.There was a litter of GSD puppies available and we ended up bringing one of the boys home once the pups were 8 weeks old. He is an energetic, inquisitive and brave little fellow...well, he won't be little long. He is growing into a very handsome dog.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS HERE!!! So my dogs came back and one was sick and had diarrhea that they did not tell us about. Both the dogs had crusty ears and smelled HORRIBLE. They told us that they gave them a bath but they did not. I bathed them again because they smelled so terrible and I had to empty the bath water twice for each of them. They were also extremely dehydrated and not fed enough. Both dogs drank two whole bowls of water and two bowls of food when they came back. I am never taking my dogs here ever again.

My friend has bought 2 Shepards absolutely gorgeous and intelligent the 1st one passed away lived out his entire life expectancy with no problems, after he passed he KNEW he just had to go almost immediately thereafter and buy another puppy from Joyce ( I think thats her name) the new puppy is breathtaking gorgeous!! I would give anything to afford a puppy from here! If you can afford to get a puppy here, I definitely would, I have NEVER in my life seen more beautiful or intelligent shepards as I have from here... one day I hope to save enough to get a puppy from Joyce and put it through her training program.... my friend absolutely loves the owner, she stands by 100% her puppies and dogs!

I love the staff at misty ridge. My dog had severe arthritis and they took very good care of him. He got some time in the office since he didn't really want the nature walks. I will certainly use them again

Our well loved dog had issues walking and wouldn't get up. They didn't tell us until we came to pick her up. I now know not to trust this kennel. They didn't think to inform us at the 1st sign of problems. It was obvious the owner was lying as she talked to me. She kept making excuses saying she never had a problem there before.

We just picked up our 4 month old puppy after boarding her for a week and she and we were thrilled with the excellent care she received! Everyone was extremely friendly and professional! We will bring her back again this summer.

Absolutely horrible! Both of my dogs who were there for a week came home with sores on bottom and sides of almost every paw, elbows and bellies. Supposedly had a bath but smelled like they had been laying in urine all week. Never again!!
