What a great team. Super friendly, understanding, and accommodating. Dr. P. is the best. She took her time, answered all my questions and handled my emotionally confused pit-mix with perfection. While all vets will at least pretend to like your pets, I believe this clinic truly enjoys seeing my crew. I highly recommend Linganore Veterinary Clinic for all your veterinary care.Addendum-2/7/24--We inherited a matted Scotty who, despite our best efforts, we could not groom. While the team at Linganore admit they are not groomers, they took on the challenge as it must have been terribly uncomfortable for the dog and had become a medical issue. Nikki, the Tech who did the work, did a fantastic job. It must have been a daunting task. I am so grateful to have this team near our home.

I have been going here for years. The only bad thing I can say is it can be difficult to get an appointment even for urgent needs. But I emailed them with a photo of my cat and as a result, they squeezed us in that day. The care is top notch I highly recommend this practice. Amber thanks you for seeing her!

My furry family members have been going to this office for about 30 years while it was owned by Dr. Reid. Best vet ever. He recently sold the practice. The new vets were competent when I saw them just after the turn over. Recently, I called for a sick visit. I was told they could fit me in 7 days later. I repeated that my pooch was ill, was that the best they could do. I was again told 7 days as they were really busy. I asked what they suggested since he was in pain. They said go see an urgent vet but be sure to come back there for his shots and checkup. So, you can't see a sick pet but you'll happily do the quickie visit and pocket a fast 4 or 5 hundred dollars. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE. If I want my pocket picked I'll go to DC. I would tell a friend to avoid this place at all costs and find somewhere else. The only reason I gave them even 1 star is that the vets are competent. Not caring.

Friendly staff, no high-pressure sales tactics like at many, patient, caring, and affordable. I’m so glad I found them.Update: after using them several times now, I can honestly say they have the best staff I’ve ever dealt with. The doctors are so compassionate and thorough and they don’t rush you. In having to put down my beautiful cat, they made the experience easier to handle with their kindness.

We have used Linganore Veterinary Clinic since 2007 when our dog was a puppy. We never had an issue with the service and appreciate the caring, polite staff and knowledgeable and experienced vets. They always explained what was happening, giving us time to ask questions. It is obvious they love animals themselves. We always received a phone call and/or email when shots were due (often both). Our dog boarded there several times over the years and seemed to enjoy his stay. When it was time to have him put to sleep, Dr. Reid was gentle and explained the procedure. Such a difficult time for us was made easier by the peace we felt afterward.

Fantastic vet! The staff is very helpful and the environment is clean. We had to put our oldest pup to rest last year and they helped up do this at our pace. The Dr. was compassionate throughout the process. We bring our other pup in for checkups and shots. Again, very good vet!

I took my kitten, Pickles, there today for his first vet visit. I was so nervous since I had never been here before and I was not able to go inside with him. Dr. Smith and the entire staff that I interacted with were friendly and welcoming. I felt at ease right away, which says a lot since most communication is done over the phone for safety reasons! Pickles is sleepy but seems very happy. I really appreciate that kind atmosphere and great care I received! I will be bringing Pickles back for all of his medical needs!

Our dog has been a patient here for over 2 years now and we've always had a great experience. Dr. Hope is amazing with our dog, who is very anxious and typically needs to be muzzled. The staff is so professional and always treats us and our dog with respect, even though she's terrified.

I brought both my dogs in for routine exams and vaccines after moving to new market this year. The doctor we saw those times was kind and competent and I liked her. Unfortunately, the one we saw today was not so great. My dog had been sore for the past 2 days and had gone off her feed last night so I called this morning for an appointment. When the vet came in, she basically told me I should have taken her to the Pet E.R. in Frederick (up until she stopped eating, I thought she probably just pulled a muscle playing, and if they hadn’t had an appointment available this morning, I would have taken her wherever we could get in) She then proceeded to sniff my dogs face and accused me of using essential oils on her. After I explained to her that she was likely smelling my body lotion (which I have to slather myself in after every shower because it’s becoming winter and my skin is dry) and I’d been up most of the night petting my dogs face while she slept and the smell probably rubbed off on her fur, she left to go draw blood and came back with a bunch of internet print outs about essential oils. I told her again that there were no oils on my dog. She insisted that her symptoms were consistent with poisoning from essential oils. I told her again that I didn’t give my dog oils. Yes, I like nice smelling lotion and soap for me but my dog had been limping since Friday night and I hadn’t stayed up stroking her face with my scented hand until Sunday night. Once she stopped eating I figured it was more than a pulled muscle and took her to the vet! I told the doctor this and she kept pushing about the damn oils! So this woman basically accused me of being a delusional faith healer AND a time traveler. I’m not an idiot and I didn’t appreciate being accused of poisoning my animal. If I was some essential oil witch doctor, I would have stayed home burning incense, not gone to the vet! Then the blood work came back. My dog has anaplasma which means she was bitten by an infected tick and also means that her seresto collar is apparently useless. Absolutely no kind of apology from doctor sniffy. Just handed me the antibiotics and quickly left the room. I get that there’s morons in the world who are rejecting modern medicine and trying to use perfume instead but I am not one of them. This woman clearly has some kind of essential oil vendetta and a hyperactive sense of smell. I didn’t appreciate her jumping to conclusions based off of a trace of a smell before the blood work was even back. I told her the same thing 10 different ways and she didn’t listen until I screamed it! Then had the audacity to tell me not to curse at her. If you’d listen the first thousand times someone tells you something, maybe you wouldn’t get screamed and cursed at! If my lotion was poisonous, then my other dog would be dead because she licks me constantly. Also, blaming people for their pet being sick is a great way to end up no clients. That woman is a C U Next Tuesday and she’ll misdiagnose your pet if they smell too good.

I used this vet at the recommendation of my parents after our dog become ill suddenly. Dr. Poffenberger was extremely nice and helpful during the entire process. The office staff was helpful and nice. Amanda helped me to make the appointment and answered all of my questions. The experience was very peaceful and a beautiful way to say goodbye to a dear friend. I would highly recommend them.

Been going here since we moved into the area and love them. Very considerate and are don't push expensive procedures if they think that the pros/cons aren't worth it. Can take a while to get into, but that is the way a lot of places are right now.
