A rate find in a busy world. If you haven’t been it’s absolutely worth the drive out for one of their events and their tours of the farm. We visited for the first time during their recent Spring celebration. On top of that we recently signed up for their home delivery. The milk and food is incredible (even the Pizza Rolls - our kiddos favorite each week). I cannot say enough good about the team at South Mountain Creamery. I just wish we’d signed up and visited sooner!

At farmers market and I asked to use Apple Pay because I didn’t have enough money for the eggs and string cheese. I come here every other week or sometimes every week depending on how fast I use eggs and I always use my credit card… in a nasty harsh way she told me “you need to come with cash at a farmers market”. First of all everyone at this farmers market take credit, every single vendor takes credit. Since covid not many people use cash anyoMore. She is very nasty to me and she continues to argue with me over cash and personally I think she’s acting very racist or acting like a Karen. I will never go there again and there’s other places to buy my eggs. So I’m done. No need for a business to be unpleasant unprovoked.

We had fun. The corn maze was huge. The kids loved their ice cream and milkshakes. The sweet tea and cherry soda was good. Only thing we missed really was the food truck.

Great spot, very well established, staff are super friendly and very active (lots of people come and go), their farm and the ability for patrons come pet the cows and see different stations it's very important

Beautiful setting for the creamery and we each got single scoops of ice cream a single scoop is a lot of ice cream but they will split it so you can get half scoop of two different flavors.I'm not going to lie... When you're next to some cows... a lot of cows...it has an odor that maybe doesn't make ice cream as palatable.

My new favorite thing is to search “ice cream near me” as I travel. This place exceeded my wildest dreams. The ice cream was superb ! And it was mind blowing for this city girl to experience the working farm. I was as giddy as an elementary school kid on a field trip. It’s not the cheapest ice cream but I can see all that goes into producing that little scoop of deliciousness. I’ll definitely go back.

South mountain creamery has been a game changer for food delivery and making sure we have meals on the table each week without spending a ton of time in the grocery store. We have also visited the farm and had an opportunity to feed the baby cows which was absolutely a wonderful afternoon and our kids loved it. ❤️👍

We loved it! Much more than an ice cream shop! The ice cream is DELICIOUS! Cups and cones are available as well as handmade waffle cones. The shop also includes take-home ice cream, cheese and milk from the cows.We enjoyed watching the cows get milked! We loved visiting the baby calves across the street! We could pet the cows and there is a wash station outside. Ample parking.Very kid-friendly! Beautiful farm!

Ah!! My bit at our local store in Bluemont, but it is even better at the creamery. The cute baby cows are adorable!!! Today, by chance they had an ice cream eating contest. 10 scoops!! With all the Fi in’s. Always a good family fun, or even to take your pup out for the day:))) lol have fun

What a wonderful experience, from the milking shed, to the nursery of six-day-old calves, to the baby goat play and feeding area. Ending at the store to pick up ice cream and their delicious chocolate milk. This is a place for kids and adults who are still kids at heart. During the Spring/summer season, there are many activities and programs to enjoy. We’ll be going back for more.

We loved bottle feeding and petting the calves. The ice cream and hot chocolate were outstanding as well! Plus, all of the farm staff were super nice. Not too far from DC, and totally worth the trip.

Such a beautiful area. Loved getting a delicious chocolate ice cream and then walking across to pet the calfs. So adorable! The staff were friendly and helpful.

Great dairy farm experience with the kids. Really nice that you can take a self guided tour, and lots of friendly animals to pet. Beautiful scenery and plenty to do. If you plan to do the self guided tour, make sure to read the FAQs on the website, and stop in the store for the map of the grounds. Otherwise can be a bit confusing. Definitely a one of a kind experience the kids will love! ..and the ice cream is the perfect treat to end the day.

Our homeschool group had a fun tour here. We met for a picnic lunch at the playground. They have a large pavilion full of picnic tables by the playground. Our children enjoyed playing corn hole and visiting the goats while we waited for our tour to start. The tour given by Lauren was well paced, fun and educational and ended with ice cream from their creamery. Great field trip!

Incredible local family owned dairy farm! Clean, environmentally friendly, and a place for kids to actually learn where milk and their favorite ice cream comes from! Take the time to watch the cows get milked, go to the petting barn, maybe even feed a baby cow! Great place for kids with special needs as well as the whole family! Very clean with hand washing stations, friendly staff, and delicious ice cream to end the day! Definitely worth the trip!

South Mountain Creamery is like extended family to me. My husband and I have been customers for several years and became Moo Members when the program started last year. It is important to me to support small, local businesses that value communities and sustainability. South Mountain Creamery provides great products and continues to expand their co-op to an extent that it is like having a local farmer's market delivered to your door every week. I really appreciate their communication and customer service. Their drivers are also great and I love getting a Christmas card from them every year...shout out to Kenny, I'm glad he delivers to my neighborhood every week. We have also visited the farm and Harvest Kitchen restaurant...loved them both. Their ice cream is sooo good. My husband grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin and was very impressed by their operation. Love being able to pet the cows! Thanks for everything. :-)

What an absolutely beautiful place. I came to feed the calves and they are just the cutest! Thank goodness they sell their products at my local Harris Teeter because their chocolate milk is the best on earth. On-site they have some delicious ice cream and their other dairy products for sale as well. All the staff here was very friendly and helpful. I’d come back again just to feed those sweet calves again.

We attended an event they were having at the farm. It was really well organized, the staff were very friendly. We visited the baby cow barn, and saw the goats. We also got a tour of the milk plant.

The change from Oberweis to South Creamery was disappointing.Lumpy milk from the first day of delivery. Not a lot of beverage selections and very over priced. And I could call Oberweis anytime. Here I can only call from 7am -3pmwhile I'm at work. Will discontinue doing service with them!BEWARE!!

We visited South Mountain Creamery on a Thursday afternoon at the end of June. Great spot all around. We all got ice cream(strawberry, blueberry cheesecake, black raspberry, coffee and Monocacy Mud). Everyone enjoyed their choices. I personally got the Monocacy Mud and could've used a tad more of the add ins but it was still a great flavor. They have a great playground (had s cool hill of ricks with dozers and dump trucks!) and area with corn hole. By the playground there was a pavilion with several picnic tables. Also in this area, there were goats to pet. The calf barn was the highlight for my daughter. The calves were so sweet and we were able to pet a number of them. We were also able to observe the cows being milked. This would be a great spot to visit more often but we are 2 hrs away. I would definitely go back if we're in the area again. Could easily spend 2‐3 hours there.

We purchase south mountain from a local farm in our area. A little pricey in comparison to the local supermarket however! The best tasting I have ever experienced or in a long time anyway. The glass bottles make a difference in my opinion. Both white and chocolate are just outstanding and the eggnog is exceptional. I don't mind paying a little extra for good quality. Love your product and the farm of which we make our purchase. Millers farm locust grove Va.Thank youFarm fresh rocks!

Went for ice cream based off a friend's recommendation. I got the last of chocolate so I was happy, but not so much for the others. Also had Apple pie flavor and birthday cake. Loved the different flavors. Was able to go to the calf barn and pet different calves. Saw a girl born that morning in the pen which was cool. Also got to name a calf!! Cool place to visit. Will be back again!

Beautiful farm experience. The cows are clearly happy and healthy. Makes you feel good to spend your money there. The sundae was HUGE, and for such a reasonable price. It was tasty, but probably too big for just one person.Only complaint is the calf feeding took a long time to start. The website was very clear that guests must arrive on time or the calf feeding will start without them. We got there early, then ended up waiting 20 minutes past the start time because the farm staff was still setting it up. There were also very few chairs and limited shade. Not a big deal for adults, but for little ones, I would recommend bringing lots of water and sunscreen on a hot day.

If I could leave them negative stars I would!! Absolutely terrible to do business with. I got forced into their delivery service when Oberwise left and gave them a good couple of months on home delivery before finally giving up. In that time I've had 1 successful delivery, been charged for items I never received been given the run around from their customer service for almost a month refusing to give me a refund for the mistake they admitted they made. No attempts to make it right. Absolutely terrible. It's clear they don't care about their customers. I would absolutely recommend NEVER trying their delivery service.

Cute dairy farm to visit for some fresh soft creamy ice cream. Walk around and see the baby cows and goats. The place isn't huge, so you'll see them rather fast, but it's enjoyable. Inside is small, but they have milk, cheese, butter, yogurt, granola, eggs, coffee, some meats (pig ears, jerky, ground beef, hot dogs, beef patties) and we saw some cucumbers. Keep an eye on their Facebook from time to time they will have other produce or even full meal kits to pick up or food trucks. We did get some.granola, milk, and string mozzarella cheese (sooooo soft and fresh tasting!) To take home with us.

Great experience. Took the kids and we all had a great time. Highly recommend for all kids especially those who have never been around farm life. Calf feeding was fun and educational can be a little difficult for younger kids. Calfs are newborn to 2 months. Average newborn calf is 90lbs. Check out those prego mama's about to delivery. You could see them moving which the kids loved.

Check their Facebook for festivals that are going on pretty regularly. That's when I would recommend going. Tons of activities from feeding the cows, to corn hole, hayrides and tons for the kids to climb on and play with. Their ice cream is delicious and made on site. They also offer select meats, eggs and other dairy options including milk delivery in glass bottles like the old days. 4 stars because if there's not a festival going on there's not much other than ice cream. Which, if you're going out for ice cream then you're set. Friendly people, friendly animals, good day trip.

They have a way bigger selection than i anticipated and flavors of all sorts of cheeses, ice cream, milk, sour cream, honey and jerky and all types of beef. The prices were lower than i expected as well. Plus the lady working there was very hospitable and patient with all our questions. She was very nice. We will definitely be back.

Very cute place for kids. The kids' plastic playground was nice for my toddlers. They like the ride on toys as well. The kids liked the birthday cake ice cream in the mini cup. I enjoyed the dirt road ice cream in a mini cup. My husband enjoyed the sets of corn hole boards. There was plenty of outside seating. The cows were as young as a day old and they were friendly.
