UPDATE.So I figured I'd give foodlion another chance and I got strawberries. Well the very next day they had mold. Both packs. Extremely disappointedI order for home delivery often from food lion till recently. I have gotten fruits and bread, but the next day, the fruit has mold on them especially the strawberries. The bread is usually moldy within a few days. They have been out of stock on a lot of items that are up on their web page or on instacart. I have gone to food lion for a long time but recently I just keep getting disappointed and wasting money on fruits. One big thing that bothers me when you order online things that are BOGO you never get that free item. Always look at the circular before ordering, if not, you are probably not getting those sale items.

My family and I have been shopping at Food Lion this location Middle River 1413 Fuselage Ave 21220 since it opened and we like the pricing and products and have never had a problem until about 4 months ago. We then started noticing that the new sales for the week started on Wednesday and we would go there to get our shopping done for the week.But the sale items were out of stock always empty so we came back on the next day Thursday and the same thing no stock. Again we came back the next day Friday and the sale items were far and few.Does anyone else see this problem?I see the Manager a bald headed man wear a coat with ear plugs in and no name tag or it under his coat so this is why I cant give you his name . He seems more worried about the lottery machines and walking around acting like he is concerned and picking up empty boxes.This is very poor management as far as I'm concern and lets not forget the in store workers that get the grocery's orders for online shoppers as they shop and do not see you in front of them and block the isles and run into you and say nothing not an excuse me or anything. Again very poor management but I guess this is todays world.If anyone else has had this experience please speak out or it is only going to get worst.Thank you.

There is these two cashiers that work there their sisters they look just alike they are the nicest and the sweetest people ever that's the only reason why I go to food Lion otherwise I'll be going somewhere else these 2 sisters still work here and as caring as ever

First of all I love the sales in this store I shop online on Instacart too But I went to the store to shop in middle river location. I had the best cashier her name is Tammy. She was so friendly and perfect customer service. Tammy can teach others how to give great customer service. Thank u Tammy for for being so kind. I'll definitely will be back

This is my go to store. It's not one of the bigger Food Lions I've been to but they do a really good job for selection Even with the smaller size of their store. Strong Latin section, pretty good frozen section. The chip section is tucked away in an odd corner of the store, You end up walking past it after the frozen goods which is a little strange.The produce department is hit or miss on stock, but they don't leave decaying produce out on the floor like a lot of other places do. The deli counter is marginal, their premium brand is Dietz & Watson, and honestly it's not good, unless flavorless grissly pastrami is your jam. You're far better off with their store brand.The shining star of the store are the super friendly staff and their ability to keep the lines super short.You can get better meat at Giant but the selection for everything else there is awful. You can get a better selection overall at Weis, but the staff there are absolutely horrible.This is the nicest place to do your shopping in the area.

UPDATE JAN 24 RECENT SNOWFALL - parking lot is VERY icy. Seniors please be careful...everyone needs to be careful.This store is very convenient to my house, so i am here often. They are clean inside and always have what i need and a few of the cashiers are friendly.However, the parking lot always has trash in it and employees smoke in front of building. Sometimes, customers have to walk thru cloud of smoke and smell to get inside.Always be aware of surroundings during the day. I would not go after dark.

Typical grocery store. I went to this location for a specific water, but they didn't sell it either. The cashier was very friendly as I went thru her line. The store had lost of workers restocking the shelves during the time I was there.

People don't even know how good this market is. Excellent produce, quality meats at decent prices, very good selection in their Frozen food department, and a nice deli. The only reason I can't give them a full five stars is because there have been too many times that they've only had one or two cashiers working and the lines have been crazy long. I will say their cashiers are always pleasant and I've never had a problem with any of them.

They do have some great specials. Watch the pricing on buy one get one free. Not sure if they give double coupons. This week jumb shrimp regularly $11.99. Buy one the 2nd bag free.

Everytime I go there they never have the sale items but have plenty of the way higher price things. Everytime I buy sodas I get them home and always 1or more is opened and leaking, that's a waste of my money things are expensive and always damaged at Food Lion Middle River. Things have really changed for the worse here in the last 3or or so years. I think the management should get it together. I will be going to Essex from now on. It's worth the further drive

They had everything I was looking for aside from one flavor of soda, but considering that brand was on a bogo sale and it's a holiday, they were really well stocked to only be out of only the one flavor and they had a good supply of all the other items we were looking for. The store was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Third time I’ve been here and had to explain to bag raw meat separately. The person bagging my groceries was more interested in continuing his conversation with the cashier than watching what he was doing. He crammed so much stuff into the bags the handles started breaking as I was putting them into my car, even double bagged!

Very nice experience! My place of business is in the Essex area and this is easily the most convenient store to travel to for store related purchases! I had to get pancake mix and misc stuff for customer appreciation day and they had all of what I needed. The cashier was extremely friendly and accommodating. Good job Food Lion Essex!

I always have a good experience other than at the deli. The one lady yells to take the next person's order as she is still cutting another customers meat. That isn't good customer service. She also gives half a pound more than you ask for. She does it to me quite often. What I ask for is what I should receive. I understand going over, but it's like she doesn't care what the customer asks for.

I actually rate this store 4.5 stars. Most of my experiences here have been great. Although some things I wish were sold at this store but I do understand having to go other markets to get it. It’s one elder Woman who works here that makes my day every time I come in. The very next time I see her I must let her know she’s a big reason I continue to shop here.I honestly believe management should know about their pleasant employees who bring customers back. Prices are reasonable and I like the added discounts upon using my bonus card/number. Store is pretty clean. The only down side is the customer service. I visit here quite often and it irritates me that the cashiers never speak. I always have to greet them. They hold casual conversations with other cashiers. I'd much rather just go through a self checkout. The automated voices are much friendlier. Store management should revisit customer service guidelines.

Shop here every week out of convenience, but they have a good selection for a fair price as well. They've done an admirable job preparing the store for social distancing measures, especially consider they've just started renovating as well. The workers here have always been kind and helpful.

This is a very nice store I went to one in Middle River and one on Back River Neck Road. I love the prices and people were so much help for me, I am disabled and cannot get around good. They have carts that you can ride in and I do just great they always help me the workers that is. I do find they don't stop their shelves except I guess it night cuz when I go in a lot is gone. That would be the only reason -2 *. I met the manager last night and told her how much I love this store. And one more thing they have a butcher shop in the store I love it. The prices are fantastic the store is fantastic the customers and the workers are fantastic. Thank you
