Everyone on the staff is awesome. The receptionist, Dr's, and Dr assistants are all great. They are knowledgeable and patient, they attentively listen to your needs for your pet and they follow up with calls and cards. The team at this facility are by far the best I've had since I began adopting animals. Never a worry when taking my animals here.

As a former former military and Police K-9 officer who has seen too many Veterinarians to count, I just say that this is the most unprofessional (Dr Donis) one I have ever encountered! Our Corgi has vet office anxiety and she (the vet) did nothing to attempt to build a rapport or use a soothing voice while administering his immunizations. Mind you, there was not a vet tech present to assist the Veterinarian.Instead, her solution was to have him drugged up for his next visit! What??!!! He's a Corgi not a Cane Corso!! We decided to have all of his vet records sent to our email and sent the Vets office a concern. There was no reply however, we were sent a certified letter stating that we could no longer bring our mean Ole Corgi back to the office. Talk about an unprofessional retaliatory business. Reading the other reviews about this office, apparently this is not the first complaint about this particular Veterinarian. If you are searching for a Veterinarian clinic, I would highly suggest you look elsewhere!!

I love this place for our fur buddy. Our dog is extremely special to us and if your a dog lover that doesn't want you buddy home alone or stuck in a crate for 8 plus hours than this is heaven for your dog. Great service, a little pricey for full-time services BUT you get what you pay for and can ABSOLUTELY trust them with your pups

I absolutely recommend companion care to anyone with a cat or dog. Especially Dr. Donis who has always gone above and beyond for not only my animals but for me as the owner as well. I had a kitten who had an accident and was injured and she very kindly layed out all of our options and their price points. My kitten is now a healthy cat thriving thanks to Dr. Donis and the rest of the amazing staff at companion care veterinary hospital!!

We've not been going here long but already switching to another vet. I have a dog that is terminal but not dead yet. He's been on pain meds, prescribed by Companion but now, less than 4 months later, I'm order to refill the prescription, they want more money for more tests to "see how close to the end he is". Really? Does it matter? He's terminal and they just want more money. They always want more money. Terrible business practices going on here

This is hands down the best Veterinary Facility I have ever used. We have a farm with many animals. Dr. Melanie Donis has handled all of our animals in need of veterinary care and has always treated us and our animals with the upmost professionalism and compassion. I always trust I'm getting an honest and fair assessment from Dr. Donis. If you are searching for a Vet this is the place to go to.

I’ve struggled with getting appointments for my pets in SOMD when they’re having a health issue before. So when my dog, Goose, was having an issue I was worried about what I could do for him. Our normal vet is a good one but they never have availability and when your pet is having an issue that’s the last thing you want to hear.Luckily Rose at CC stepped in and helped me make an appointment for the next morning (virtually unheard of!) and we were able to have my pup looked at. Now we’re waiting on some test results for next steps but it’s such a comfort to have found somewhere that we can actually get an appointment when something is wrong.Thank you Companion Care!

My long hair kitty required some serious attention to her back end. Luckily, the Tech that tended to her was patient, talented and professional. Jenna was careful and thorough, all while keeping kitty calm and comfortable. The job demanded a caring, expert Tech with a can-do attitude and Jenna delivered it all. Thank you Jenna!

I have been taking my Two Shepherds here for years, and have spent thousands of dollars. Lately I just feel they are in it for the money rather than the care for my dogs. My black Shepherd has bad anxiety, and trouble with her hips and legs. She takes three trazadone twice daily, Carprofen twice daily and Gabapentin twice daily. It cost me 250.00 for a blood test once a year to check her liver because of the Carprofen. Then they want me to bring her back in 6 months for a wellness check because she's on Carprofen. You know what they did for a wellness check, they looked in her ears, and listened to her heart for 85 dollars. I told them I felt that was unessesary but they won't give me a prescription for her medication without it. I told her I think it was time to find a new vet then and she told me I guess it was.My other Shepherd had a sore on his neck that had puss draining out of it. They gave me 22 dollar antibacterial wipes and told me he needed 1200.00 surgery. The sore went away. I think I will definitely be happy spending my money else where from now on.

This was the best experience I've ever had at a vet for my cats. We walked right in and were taken back to the cat exam room. The staff was friendly and very thorough with explaining things and I was able to stay in the room the entire time. I was able to get a new patient appointment in the same week which was shocking after calling many vets who were not even accepting new patients. Highly recommend!

If I could give 100 stars, I would! We are new clients to Companion Care and I have had both my dogs in for a visit (one urgent care) in the past two days. I saw 2 different vets and 2 different vet techs with the visits. All of the staff is without a doubt PHENOMENAL and super friendly. From Ms. Stephanie at the front to the techs (Ms. Jillian & Ms. Leslie), to the docs ( Dr. Gilbert & Dr. Donis), to staff members coming into to say hello to my dog! This is my first time in 13 years of being a pet parent that I felt like the goal was finding out the root of the problem and not just prescribing some antibiotics and sending me on my way. I can not thank the staff enough for the attentiveness, compassion, detailed explanations and for simply making me feel comfortable when confronting difficult options for our pets. Shout out to Ms. Leslie for going above and beyond when tackling my old dogs nastyyyyyyyyyyyyy ears and skin!!! I appreciate you all so much and THANK YOU!!!!!!

I wanted to take a moment to thank all the Staff at Companion Care for helping me work through making the hardest decision of my life for my old friend Halal. You never realize, when they are just 12 week old puppies that eventually they will grow up and eventually move on. I never knew what true hurt was until I lost my friend. She Loved unconditionally, Loyal and Guarded to the end of her watch. Thank you all for the card, patience, understanding and respect and even though it may be years or not at all, if my family and I decide to adopt a new family member there is no other place I would feel more comfortable taking my critter for check ups and medical needs than Companion Care Animal Hospital, they are wonderful. Thank you all again for your support, care, and understanding.For anyone with a four legged furball, love them as if everyday was their last, take it from me.

***edit to this review *** the technician was not honest, and at no point did I say that I was done! I stated the truth and after writing this review, I received a certified letter stating they would not do business with me or my animals from this point on, they called on February 2, asking for a follow up appointment and when I said I was going to a specialist the conversation ended. I see they truly do not care and this shows it to be true. Avoid them at all cost.Clean facility, the only good thing I have left to say about this place. It was good years ago, but it seems to have fallen apart. Dr. Donis had zero compassion as she told me that my sons dog needs more care than expected, they will make you wait for extended periods of time and when you bring it up to the person checking you out they offer to send your records elsewhere. Well, I have 3 dogs and 3 cats there between my boyfriend and I, so there goes 6 patients that you will see from us. They don’t care about your time, only about the money. I will find a new vet that cares about my animals, my time and my pocket book.

It is always a fantastic visit with these guys. Their compassion for caring for animals and creating a comfortable environment is unmatched. Prices are extremely fair, especially based on the quality of items and the turnaround time for tests. The doctors and techs are always knowledgeable about what is going on around treatment options and upcoming visits. As always, when I arrived with my kitty today, we were taken back to their cat room, which helps so much with my girl's anxiety. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Today’s visit for our black lab/Sheppard mix was wonderful. Our girl is a very nervous pup. She dislikes car rides, the vet, noises and anything other than being at home. She becomes super nervous and she lost her companion two weeks ago which has just raised her anxiety. The technicians were calm, easy with her and so caring. The veterinarian was the exact same way. Our girl was so anxious but the entire staff treated her so well. Thank you all for taking care of our sweet Lexi today.

Canceled our appointment because of an error on the schedulers part (apparently they dont know how confirm information) none of the information was correct so we never received a call or email trying to confirm the appointment and so they would not see our pet when we showed up for our scheduled appointment. That is your policy, ok but you made the mistake not me. Called another vet in the area who was just as shocked as us by the lack of professionalism and took us in right away.

I’m SO DISAPPOINTED in them. We’ve been seeing Dr. Melanie Donis for almost 30 years, but today was the last. Not so much her, but I was told I was an hour late for Sophie’s appointment, but I spoke with Kim yesterday, and she told me the time of 11:40, which I was 15 minutes early. They said no, it was at 10:40, and that it would cost $47 if I wanted to be worked in. They’re also SO EXPENSIVE, that we being a retired couple, can’t afford it. Anyway, I said No Thanks, that I’m done with you guys. She said OK! Would you like your records? They don’t even care if they have our business.

I have been using this veterinarian for years. I feel like they have my friends' health care in their best interest. Clean, courteous, professional without upsell or guilt trip in the event that I'm not wanting a suggested service. All the doctors, technicians, and office staff are approachable and offer service with a smile.I would recommend this vet to anyone who would like to get and keep their pet in good condition.

If I could rate this hospital at a MINUS 5, I would. Dr. Spruill, is a great Vet. She needs to start her in practice. She did solve my cats parasite he obviously still had from the animal shelter. The staff at this hospital is making her look bad. She was on vacation so my cat had to see Dr. Donis. My husband took our cat to the vet's, I cannot drive; the cat is actually my service cat. I suffer with multiple sclerosis. I should have waited until Dr. Spruill to get back from vacation.Dr. Donis was more interested in selling me an expensive bag Of cat food as well as probiotics that I already had from my previous appointment with Dr. Spruill. Furthermore, Dr. Donis had to ask my husband why we were back in the hospital with the cat. At an appointment, there were no notes from the office from my phone calls during the week. There is no organization, the office staff is always in a hurry. I was also charged the new patient office visit, it was his 3rd visit. I was quoted the wrong price for bloodwork. None of the other issues were addressed? He is still excessively thirsty drinking a lot of water and anybody that owns a cat knows that cats don't drink excessive amount of water. He also uses the litter box 8 times or more per day and 2 or 3 times during the night. Urination as well as feces. His abdomen is swelling it goes up and down he's in excessive pain. When I called the vet hospital 1 day they transferred me to the pharmacy for a pain RX !!!. I didn't ask for the pharmacy, what treat pain, we don't know what we're treating. He was obese when we rescued him, we are feeding a high quality organic food. That Royal Canin food 1st ingredient is chicken meal, sure, nutritious, i refuse to feed any animal chemical garbage food. My show dogs ate Bil Jac my cats eat Wellness Core. NOT MEOW MIX !!! They never have room in their schedule for an emergency appointment. They do not have Saturday hours.I had show dogs for over 20 years. I bred champion show dogs. I was a very conscientious person. I have never seen such disorganization or an arrogant Vet/Staff in my life.I will not be returning to this clinic. I will not recommend this clinic to anyone for canine or feline, & I know a lot of people in this county to tri-county area and the state.

My first time at Companion Care I had a great experience. My dog saw Dr. Gilbert and Leslie and they took great care of him. They stayed late to provide him with the best treatment plan and I can't be more grateful. Comet will be feeling better soon, thanks to them, and I will sleep better knowing he is okay.I normally go to Prince Frederick Animal Hospital but could not get in there. Glad to know I have a good place to take my pup if i can't get in to see our regular vet.Thank you so much for your help! You really are making a difference for people
