We have been taking our pets to Laytonsville Veterinary practice for years they’ve been there with us through the joys of pet parenting, and the final last days when we’ve had to say goodbye to our beloved pets. They are very compassionate and caring and very knowledgeable. Not just about dogs and cats, but exotic pets. We have a great Dane and they provide excellent care for him. Not all vets are willing or able to accommodate giant breeds.

Everyone that I encountered at my first visit was wonderful and accommodating. My dog is big and strong and still a puppy so even the small fact of being able to check out at the end in the exam room made my visit much easier for me. I got to meet the owner's husband by coincidence outside, and we had a wonderful conversation about golden retrievers, and we even realized that my very first veterinarian that I ever worked with (I'm an LVT), went to vet school with his wife. We will definitely be back and I will recommend the practice to others. Thank you!

I have been bringing my beloved companions to Laytonsville Vet since Dr Godwin was working out of her house, back in the 90s. She and her team have given all of them great care. I just got a new dog and didn’t think twice about where I’d take him. I recommend LV to locals often.

Hands down the best practice you could ever ask for, period. Responsive, communicative, direct, with a patient first approach. I cannot say enough good things about this practice- they are so good that they could run clinics for “other” vet practices on how to properly run a successful practice where the customers actually appreciate and respect the team and feel well taken care of instead of confused and taken advantage of.They are truly a gem that has remained tried and true over the years in an industry that appears to be rapidly evolving for the worse.Thank you for everything Claire & team I will always remember how good you were to my boy. My only regret is trying to find somewhere half as good closer to home.

Dr. Godwin, who I guess owns the practice but is also one of the practicing vets, is a national treasure. In addition to the extraordinary level of care and knowledge she brings to the pets she treats, she is also actively involved in research for improving the lives of dogs generally. I didn't know whether I'm doing her a favor with this review, though. She already works way too hard.Our family has had excellent experiences with some of the other vets in the practice, but also some negative experiences.

We didn't have to wait to be seeing. I love Cisco's Vet so much. She always take the time to ask questions, speak clear and answer any answer. Her assistant was amazing! They are very friendly and professional. I certainly love and recommend this clinic 100%!

Dr. Godwin is the best. (She’s also funny in a dry, deadpan way.) Skyler is always friendly and helpful. McKenzie was also attentive and friendly. And the Frontdesk folks are very responsive and cheerful. Five stars all around.

Dr. McKnight is great. She is very knowledgeable and thorough and takes the time to explain any issues. She responds to questions thoughtfully. The support staff gets kudos too - they are always friendly yet professional.

We are going on 13 years using Laytonsville Veterinary and we couldn't be more pleased. Dr. Fitzpatrick is the best of the best, but all of the staff is absolutely wonderful and compassionate. They try to help with costs wherever they can.

Claire Godwin and her veterinarian practice is by far the BEST practice in the DMV area. I’m on my third Vizsla with Claire…the first she diagnosed with Adison’s disease and saved her life. Claire is no nonsense, but is the best at what she does…if your pet has an issue that you can’t figure out…take them to Claire. I will say her entire practice embodies what a veterinary practice should be…very professional and they know what they’re doing.

The vets and techs at LVP have taken great care of our three dogs throughout their lives. It's a popular place - pretty much always busy - but it's worth the wait and despite the busy-ness, we never feel rushed when meeting with the vets or techs. They are a great team and provide great care for our pups!

I have called the Laytonsville Vet 5 different times to get my cats allergies results back and the doctor still has not called. This is a problem because my cat had a hematoma, got surgery for it, and now has a hematoma again bc she wasn’t put on immediate allergy treatment, and isn’t on a treatment because the doctor has failed to call. Which will most likely result in another surgery. They have been incredibly negligent and at this point we are just going to find another vet. This is a negligent vet.

I have been taking my dogs to Laytonsville veterinarian practice for over 30 years, Dr Godwin and the staff have been excellent and caring with all of my dogs from the begining to the end. I was an employee for about a year in the late 90's I saw how the animals were cared for when the practice was closed and when it was open and the care of the animals was as if they were there own pets.I highly recommend there service for your pets needs.

The front desk staff were able to squeeze in an nail trim appointment for my daughter's bunny, and were so nice throughout that process and when we checked in.The vet tech who clipped the bunny's nails was so sweet with him and made it super quick.We highly recommend Laytonsville Veterinary Practice as a result of the excellent customer service and care we received before and during this appointment.

Staff are friendly and welcoming. Dr Godwin is amazing in her care and creativity in maintaining a pet’s health. She performed plastic surgery on our 10 year old husky’s right front paw to give her the best possible outcome for the remainder of her life. She corrected a poorly healed cut in her main pad and custom designed a splint that would keep her from walking on her foot as she healed from the surgery. Her paw looks so much better. Dr Godwin is asking us to keep her on leash until her foot is fully healed. We are following her instructions and are looking forward to our husky living out her life able to run and play as much as she wants without pain. She really a remarkable doctor. We also like all of the other doctors as well. They are quite a team. We can’t recommend them enough.They are popular and it’s can difficult to get an appointment but it’s worth the wait. They also find ways to fit your pet in to be sure they can be seen in an emergency.We switched to Laytonsville Veterinary Practice within the last year. We wish we had done so sooner. We couldn’t be happier with the care they give our pets.

Very professional staff went out of their way to get our dog's record from a different vet during his appointment.
