My first time visiting this particular location wasn’t the best experience! As soon as I entered the store I was asked to leave my purse at the front of the store. I explained that I clearly read the signage but I didn’t have on a bookbag but my purse which is smaller than a bookbag. Not sure if that location has issues with theft but I clearly have money and would never steal merchandise and definitely not from a $1 store. I nicely turned around and exited the store. Decided to spend my hard earned dollars elsewhere. Not every customer is a theif.

The manager of the store, his attitude was not friendly at all, poor customer service. He told me get back behind a customer, with a nasty attitude. He is setting a bad example as a manager for dollar tree. He was looking at me with a evil look. He made me feel uncomfortable, about going back in that store.

I went there recently and was lucky enough to get a clean basket that was not covered with sticky stuff that collects other debris. Perhaps since spring is coming they will clean the baskets or at least hose them down out back. This store is getting better as there is not as many stacks of boxes on a dolley blocking the shelves.

My original review in 2020. Wide variety of merchandise. Update: Due to inflation, prices rose to $1.25 in 2021 or early 2022. This store narrowly missed a five star rating. Sometimes, checking out is slow.

As I was in line getting my items scanned I requested for young lady who claim she was the manager bag the frozen and wet items in a plastic bag because I did not want the items break through the paper bag she informed in saying she unable to use the plastic bags as they were running low and continue to bag my items in the paper bag along with baby products lotions and diaper rash in one paper bag. I don’t know who taught her to bag but, that’s not how it goes. And after done with paying the lady behind me had her item in a plastic bag. This made me question in the purpose why she did that without the customer request?

Not my best Dollar Tree experience! There were unpacked boxes everywhere and most of the shelves were nearly empty. I was only able to get one of the three things I came to buy. The two stars are for Ms. Linda, the sweet cashier, who was very friendly and helpful.

This Dollar Tree has recently been reorganized and fully stocked with plenty of good "finds." The aisles have been cleared of items that blocked them and the products are beautifully displayed. The balloons are ready for customers to pick up, so this eliminated the long wait when a cashier had to retrieve the balloons and fill them with helium while customers waited in line. New hires complement the regular staff so waiting for longer periods, for the most part, has been eliminated. I especially like the greeting card display. With the new and more cashiers, along with the cleanliness and availability of stock, this store has experienced a major turnaround.

Unfortunately I have to put one star to post a review. I was just yelled at because their carts automatically lock at the rug right where you walk in. Instead of politely telling me why my cart wouldn't move, I was yelled at. It was so loud it actually startled me. I couldn't believe that this person was even talking to me period I don't even get talked to that way at home. For the past year I have been intentionally avoiding this store location because it's always an organized but more importantly the lines are extremely. Usually people are lined up halfway down some of the aisles. The one time I return I get yelled at.Also there's a review here written where the reviewers states that people should lower their standards and expectations of Dollar Tree. Simply because it is a dollar store. Well, I beg to differ many people who shop at Dollar stores do not simply spend a dollar many of us are going there spending between 10 and 50 sometimes $80 in one visit.Even if I were only spending a dollar that does not mean that I should be treated like trash money is money. People are people

The Manager Mary Smothers and her staff were very unprofessional. The store was open until 10 pm but they decided that it would close early. They did not place a sign outside instead, as you walked in the door they would yell at you that the store was closed because 3 associates had called out. WOW - who would do this? I walked in this store at 8:40pm and even they even had a customer involved in the matter. They argued how short staff they were. Mary informed me that I had gotten passed her but that the customer was telling me the truth. I asked the other unprofessional staff for her information since she was enjoying turning away customers and making smart remarks. She replied look online. Again, to have customers in the store involved, respond to me in that manner as well as turn away business as I watched and not place a sign on the door was so unprofessional. I will never give business to this franchise of Dollar Tree and I will inform everyone that I know of how unprofessional my experience was at this location. I live in Laurel, however; I would bypass this location before I would spend another penny of my money for a business that has employees that treat customers like this. This incident occurred on 7/8/17 at 8:40pm. The store signage indicated that it was due to close at 10pm. One lady walked in and said she just wanted a paper and they said no, so a customer told the lady she would by it just to satisfy the customer. Embarrassing the customer provided better customer service than the associate with the loud mouth and bad weave and the Manager.

I like this chain much better than the other "dollar" stores because everything here IS actually a dollar and never more than that. I wouldn't expect to find stuff here for a dollar that is 20 bucks elsewhere, but I do get things like Rubbermaid containers (yes, that actual brand) that are 4-5 bucks in the grocery stores for a dollar, and birthday/graduation cards are along the same lines with the same savings. They also have an amazing variety of cleaning supplies and things for parties to help keep your budget in check.I like this location in particular because not only is it near where I shop for other things, but they also have refrigerators and freezer cases, unlike some of their other locations.I am a bargain hunter, and I have found that stopping here first when I make my weekly shopping run saves me quite a bit of money. I try to go Thursday or Friday for best selection, and even though the lines can get long when they don't have all the checkouts open, it's worth the trip for me because of the savings.

What a shame that they don't have -5 stars ratings , cause you surely earned it.Cashiers were not professional at all, disrespectful and kind of ghetto,really , really disappointed on this store,I have been buying from this store for over 20 years, but that can be corrected.They used to be decent , but now they are just a joke and really do not give a flying F@%&!

Talk about get it while the getting us good. That store stays packed of items but it can vary each week. Also now you can get balloons. The lines are always just 2 cashiers and long but they go quick.

I don’t normally post reviews, but based on the FILTH AND DISARRAY I saw in the Laurel store today (I wish there was an option to post pictures), I was compelled to do so. Products in many of the aisles to the point I had to pick them up to avoid stepping on them and trash and visable dust under the majority of the shelving units. Keep in mine this store has a large food section. Although many of the previous post point to management, which I agree with as well, what about holding those that are above management responsible. The word SLUMLORD comes to mind. Why hasn’t anyone in the upper management level (regional or franchise) addressed these issues. A chain this large should be reviewing social media reviews to ensure customer satisfaction. Never owning a business, but isn’t it customary to visit the site. Should it be assumed as long as the profits are being met it is of no concern to them, and that the community be satisfied with affordability alone. I don’t live in the Laurel community, but I am ready to contact upper management to seek answers and actions on behalf of those that do.Wow, just checked BBB and found that Dollar Tree, Inc. has a D- rating. So I have concluded from this and the fact that the stores are pulling in customers that customer satisfaction in regards to affordability tops a clean and pleasant shopping experience.

Had a variety of items the only issue is customer service Sucks! The old lady was rude, bagged all my glass items in one bag making it Extremely heavy, did not wrap one candle and was so unpleasant with handling my items that were so fragile. I will go to another store.

The manager at the Laurel Dollar Tree is rude and obnoxious. The customer in front of me wasn't clear as to what button to hit to pay - the manager responded "well u hit the right one" and handed her the receipt - irritated this customer. I just asked about the old news papers, I wanted to see if the price reduces the older the paper - I got "today they are $1". I asked again - well the manager got more irritated and raised her voice again saying "today they are $1" - needless to say she ignored everything else - handed me my receipt and did everything but point me to the door. I understand this manager isn't working at a high end store but customers spend their money at Dollar Tree just like any other store and deserve the same respect. Higher ups at Dollar Tree need to address the attitude of this manager and examine whether she needs to find employment at a high end store (hint: most high end stores appreciate their customers and don't allow this kind of attitude)

Worst Dollar tree ever. I came into the store trying to get a package I already purchased online. At 8:58. One of the employees refused to get my package saying they were closed. It takes all of two minutes to pick up a package and give it to someone. Lazy, uncooperative, and rude. Another co worker just stood there doing nothing as well. There hours are posted wrong have the time sometimes its 10 and sometimes its 9. The store looks an absolute mess. I've been here a few times before but this will be the last. All of those employees that night need customer service training.

Just no. I went out of my way to shop at the store in Laurel Plaza because the one closer to my house is very small and difficult to maneuver.I quickly learned that I'd made a big mistake. While there were more items at this location, it was quite disheveled, the lines were long with no apparent concern by management to open additional registers, and the locking shopping carts?? Really??!! Perhaps I missed a sign somewhere but I didn't know that I wouldn't be able to use my (very full) cart to take my items to the parking lot. This is problematic because: 1. A person either has to hope they can park in the first two spaces or park in the fire lane (ummm...illegal!). 2. If a shopper is alone, they must leave their items unattended in the cart whilst making trips back and forth. 3. If a shopper has physical limitations, s/he will have a very difficult time and goodness knows no one who works in the store is going to offer assistance.I think it's a shame and a disgrace that we've developed such low expectations as to say, "It's a Dollar Tree, what do you expect?" Being inexpensive doesn't have to equate to poor service. So I expect good customer service and a pleasant, convenient shopping experience. I am a paying customer after all. And please remember, you can get treated badly in the comfort of your own environs for FREE--you shouldn't have to PAY for the experience.Never again for me--not with this store.

Wow! Take the time to travel somewhere else. I ignored the reviews and chose to have my shipment delivered here. I received an email saying my order arrived. I went to pick it up and the store rep said it wasn't there. I was confused and said I received an email saying it arrived. The rep said she doesn't know why they do that and it wasn't in the back.I waited 1 day and went back to speak with the manager. The manger said that my order did arrive and the person told me incorrect information. She guided me to the back and told me that all my orders are there but they gave one box to another customer. I thought it was a joke, but it wasn't. They indeed gave a part of my order to another customer whose name wasn't on the box. Wow!Then the manager signed me out using the bar code from my email. It doesn't saw that I didn't get all of my order. She instructed me to call the toll free number to let them know. I left with my other order but I have nothing stating I didn't receive all of my order. I called the toll free number right away but they couldn't help me because it's a Holiday. Never again.

So the store says it opens at 8am. It’s 8:45 and the doors are still closed. Someone in the parking lot said it’s because the cashier just got in...okay? Whose fault is that? It there only one cashier? Are the openers not cash register trained?

Very unhelpful unprofessional manager. The store is a mess boxes everywhere. I ordered online and went there to pick up my order after receiving the email. The manager comes to the front ask my name and starts searching through boxes and says it's not here it's on the next truck and that they (dollar tree) always sends out the email early 😳 I said no they sent it out days ago I need these things by Saturday, she says let me look again what's your name I told her she found it and says let me get your paperwork and leaves and never comes back I leave and get home only to find out there are 2 more boxes I have to go back to get 😖😡😠 Never again! Laurel MD needs a better Dollar Tree!

Decent selection. A few shelf's sparce but overall good stock. They have a fridge and freezer section which is nice. No better price for frozen french fries.

Messy store. They're always using the shopping carts for stocking. Today no one would ring my daughter up. Also its too many employees standing around for it to be long lines. And for people saying to lower your expectations because it's a dollar store well this Dollar Store makes billions of dollars so I expect good customer service and a clean neat store.

In my opinion, this location should be closed down. It's always in a disarray. You're lucky if there's two cashiers working. The selection of merchandise is scarce. This will be be last visit to this location. The plus, the cashier was very polite.
