Not only do the groomers at our local Petco do an amazing job with our dog, Stark, they must be something really special because he loves going to be groomed. He always looks great when we pick him up, but it's when we drop him off that really lets us know how wonderful the groomers are. There is no hesitation on his part to go back into the grooming area. When we first started bringing him, that wasn't the case. He is a totally different dog now when we drop him off.

My poodle mix got an absolutely horrible cut here. She is now patchy and uneven. I asked for a teddy bear cut and she is just completely shaved, with random patches that are longer and other random patches that are completely bald. They ask you to pay before you even see your dog and now I know why. I should have walked out when the groomer let the door shut in my and my dogs face.

Jessica did an outstanding job accommodating the appointment even though the staff was short. Even though she had more appointments to do Lily (Our miniature schnauzer) turned out great and beautiful.Thank you and Lily will be back to see Jessica again.

We've been taking our dogs here on and off for years. Grooming skill level is lacking. Customer service is lacking.. very unfriendly workers. I have nervous, anxious dog. I mentioned that to the groomer as I was checking her in. Her response was simply "that's okay". I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean. My dog was visibly anxious. She was shaking and trying to head out the door. The groomer looped the leash around her neck and proceeded to pull and drag her instead of picking her up. She's small. If that's what the groomer does in front of us I can only imagine how she treats dogs when no one is looking. Needless to say, I didn't leave her and will not return to this location.

Your staff is wonderful. The energy was fantastic. They truly love what they do. As a Disable Veteran my pet is like my child and if he is not comfortable I am not comfortable. My Charlie was happy and his nails are fantastic. I have found our happy place for all of his needs. Thank you for your service to us. Bravo Zulu to your staff as we say in the Navy when someone does a good job.

Amanda is an phenomenal tech! She understands the needs of my dog. My husky is shedding. When i dropped him off, he looked like he weighed 60 lbs. When I picked him up, it looked like he weighed 45 lbs. We also discussed and she recommended other treatments that he needed. In addition, the price was reasonable. Thank you Amanda!!!

My groomer was very nice and took care of my fur baby very well. She groomed him just the way I had requested, despite the fact that my fur baby wasn't making things easy. I am always very pleased with the service I receive from Petco grooming services.

A picture of the cut I wanted was shown to the groomer prior to the appointment. She assessed him and his before taking him into the back. There were no concerns of matting or any other issues. The groomer did not follow the picture at all, she basically just shaved him down to the lowest point. Again there was no issues with matting. She did say there was food stuck in his hair under his chin but that's it. I was the last appointment for the day. They called me to drop him off early so that they could be done by 6pm, so I feel like it was a rush job.

Cindy was very patient and loving to my special little guy Jewels even though he was being extremely difficult with her. Jewels is deathly scared of getting his news clipped, because of past traumatic experiences.She was able to get it done and was even able to sneak some hugs in at the end.

Heather did an awesome job with my little man, Gucci. His regular groomer is a elderly woman who owns her own grooming business on their farm within in walking distance to our house. She is practicing social distancing as a elderly woman and I respect her choice to remain in good health and strength. We miss her and will eventually return back to her in the interim we will make grooming appointments with PetCo and request Heather as Gucci took her very well. We sincerely thank appreciate the appointment being accepted so quickly and Heather was very professional. 🐾✝️

Rock was super handsome and smelling great when I went to pick him up. He is super shy and was afraid when I left him but I know he was treated great because when I went to get him he was happy and not shaking. Thanks so much for taking great care of him.

This was my second time bringing Gypsy for a grooming at the La Plata Petco. I am very pleased with how calm the grooming area is. The groomers are super friendly and it's the calmest my dog has ever been after a grooming. I used to go to another chain grooming service and was always so frustrated that the services I was paying for weren't done. The La Plata Petco is where Gypsy will go for grooming from now on. I couldn't be more pleased and Gypsy always looks and smells marvelous. Oh. And the reward program is a great bonus too!

This is my "go-to" local pet store in LaPlata, MD. I find the store always well-stocked and the staff helpful. On my recent visit I had the pleasure of meeting Resheeda. She was absolutely the BEST staff member I've had the pleasure to meet there: knowledgeable, helpful, and above all, patient! Having a new fur-baby, (though 6 years old), I had a number of questions. Prices fluctuate from petco to petco. Recieved a surprise at check out but I was fine paying as thr tech was very helpful with removing a deer tick from my pupp and provided suggestions and explanations as to what to do next and why it happened. Easy to book an appointment and was willing to stay longer if I was running late. Store was clean and didn't smell like pets. Lol
