This Petco is awesome!!! The store is super clean and organized, and the staff is always super helpful and friendly.Just a little rant if you're interested:Ordered online for pick-up. Had 2 separate orders for pickup. I walked into the store and approached an unattended register, and waited briefly for a cashier. After there was another person waiting behind me, a cashier came over to the register, and I told him I was picking up an online order. He went to the other register and told me I had to wait off to the side because he didn't have a zebra. I didn't know Petco had zebras, but that makes sense because they are closely related to horses, I think. After about 3 or 4 customers got helped, another employee came over, looked like he may have been clocking back in from a break or something, and the cashier asked if he had a zebra, but he didn't. Shortly after, I was approached by another employee who was very friendly and after I verified my name, she showed me my order which was sitting in a cart right behind the register and cashier that I originally went up to. The employee verified that all my items were in the cart, and I thanked her for helping me and walked out of the store.I understand that the world doesn't revolve around me, I also have quite a bit of patience, I'm not complaining one bit. I just want to understand why the cashier didn't have his own personal zebra. That would have made my pick-up waaaay quicker. Maybe for the next customer that does an online pickup, can there be more Zebras available. Also, I never saw an actual Zebra, so I waited around almost close to ten minutes, and I didn't get to see an actual Zebra, what the heck?Just a rant, this was my most recent experience, and my first time ever doing an online pickup through Petco. I normally come in and shop. My overall experience was awesome. I just wanted to vent about how I waited around for a Zebra.

Petco has always been horrible, but its awful to see uphand that they mutilate and abuse their birds. Clipping wings is like declawing a cat. Dont buy a bird if you dont want it to find. Ffs...

Employees are never checking on customers waiting to check out. You can be standing at the checkout counter sometime and make eye contact with them and they still won’t come to the register!

This is my absolute favorite Petco. It honestly may be my favorite store overall. The staff (in particular Koa, Chris, Jessica, and Kevin) are amazing to work with. All staff are honestly fantastic. Those are just the 4 I work with the most. In addition to friendly and professional, they’re very knowledgeable and make the best recommendations. They’ve taken the time to get to know my needs, my pets, and my interests and they make recommendations that are appropriate for us. Off the chart ratings for sure and a big thank you for always serving my family with care.

It was excellent everyone was extremely pleasant and very respectful and they took Kaycee for her grooming and when they are finished grooming her they will call on your phone to inform you that your puppy or dog is ready to be picked up and then you proceed to the cashier to pay for your services that has been done and at the register they have doggie treats free for your pet

Staff were not friendly at all. Dog Feces all on the sidewalk of the establishment. You could barely walk without stepping in it! I though Clinton was bad. However this store is up there with them.

This location is absolutely horrible, the leopard geckos especially, i have been there 2 times in the last few months and they look worse and worse each time, i will no longer be shopping at pet co due to their animal neglect. the leopard geckos were also marked 50% off.

There were moths living in the dog treats at the dog treat bar. Definitely wouldn't recommend buying anything from this place unless you want to roll the dice in infesting your home.

Took my boy in for the mini make-rover, they took his medical records quickly, and him to get all the things done. They were friendly, answered a couple questions I had, and finished with him in about 20 minutes. I could tell by my dog they were gentle and friendly with him. He looks and smells great, and his nails, which are a big priority for me bc I can't see the vein, were done perfectly. I will be bringing my dogs to them for future services!

Absolutely terrible customer service if any at all. I have tried to call several times left several messages and still have yet to receive a call back. When I finally did make an appointment online. They called me 45 minutes before my appointment time the day of my appointment and canceled Because they didn't have a groomer. We have found a much better groomer right down the street with amazing customer service I do not recommend Petco in La Plata at all.

Nice store, well stocked. Employees are nice and animals look healthy! But I will say that they are much more pricy than Petsmart. But this location is nice, clean, and helpful with a great atmosphere. We go here when we need something small and don't want to drive to waldorf. Take advantage of the online price match!

We love this store. The animals look well cared for. The tanks are ALWAYS super clean and cared for when Cece is around. She is the best and super friendly. My toddler loves going to the aquatics section just to look around and there is usually someone caring for the animals around the store. The staff is very friendly in general.

I took my terrier mix in to get a short haircut because I was concerned about ticks. I usually get the moisture bath for him. When I came to pick him up Victoria let me know she found many ticks and substituted the flea and tick bath. The haircut was just right.

This is for the grooming side. Each time I’ve come I had to provide my dogs rabies form. It’s always a problem and today I had enough. I wasted gas driving there and not being able to have my dog serviced and their response was is there anyone at home that can send you a picture of the paper work are you kidding me. I just was there a month ago and my dog was groomed and I supplied them with his shot papers.

I love bringing my fur babies to the groomers at thus location. They always come home smelling good and looking great! I got one baby her first puppy cut and Oh My Goodness!!!!! She looked like a new dog. It was perfect!

The general manager here is fantastic. She is so personable, knows allot and loves to share that knowledge, smiles all the time. My spouse specifically tries to hunt her down whenever he has a question. And she is so honest, too. She sells you what you need, and nothing that she doesn't guarantee herself. Petco is so fortunate to have her on their team.
