I recently tried to replace some older craftsman hand tools here. I went on this stores website to see if the tools were available first, and the site said they were in stock. I drove to this store only to find they did not have the items in stock. The manager tried to say that corporate Ace was responsible for keeping track of this stores inventory, and they were not responsible for the website. I find it hard to believe that corporate Ace could keep track of all of its independent stores inventory and monitor each stores individual website. The employees were pleasant but blaming corporate for their failure to monitor their own website after I specifically drove there for these tools is unacceptable.

Located in a semi rural area. I much prefer going here instead of shopping at a big box store like Lowe's or Home Depot. They have everything you need. The price is maybe slightly higher, but you can walk in find what you need or ask for assistance and quickly be on your way. Whenever I needed help locating something, I never waited more than one minute. Sometimes in a big box store, it's hard to find anyone to help. Highly recommend.

I went their looking for bulbs for an old flashlight. ACE hardware stores still carry things you won't find at a Lowes or Homedepot. You may find what you want at ACE.

Costello's Ace Hardware storein LaPlata, MD is a very organized & clean store whereyou can find what you are looking to purchase. It is a great store to have your window screens repaired or replaced! I had a set of 3 window screens replaced with stronger wire at a very reasonable price. The birds had a good time tearing up my front screens in the Spring to build stronger bird nests! Let's see how this screening works,of course I will find out in Spring, 2024!😊. Thank youCostello's Ace Hardware.

Was a great place, not so much anymore. The kid behind the counter could not answer any questions of those in line and did not care to find out answers. He should have stayed home and played video games. A few others customers left frustrated as did I. I understand that teens may not be hardware experts, but it least have someone there that can answer basic questions and can tell you if they sell a particular product and where it is. I went to purchase water softener salt and had to repeat myself several times. Rather than asking someone who knew he said it might be in isle 5 or outside. I found it outside and had to carry it in because he could not find it in the computer or on the code sheet. I would love to see an improvement because prior to this the place was great!

They have more stuff than I thought. It’s like a mini, Home Depot or Lowes, but prices may be a little higher, check to make sure :)

Well stocked, friendly staff, and open Sundays (while as a person I wish they were closed for employees to get a break, as a homeowner who normally needs stuff on Sunday, for some reason, I appreciate that). Easy to get to, just off 301.

1 ) filling propane tanks they don't pay attention to the date of recalibrated tanks, they only went by the original date.2 ) overpriced on everything3 ) some cashier's charge double for propane tank refills. Have a 40lbs tank and they tried to charge me $66.80 instead of $37.4 ) the hours open start at 8am NOT 7AMWon't be coming back here

Great experience with Ace today. I was looking for a unique type of drywall anchor hardware. They did not have the item but the owner (I think) took the time to come up with a way to use two different types of items into the one I needed. Also went above and beyond by looking for the least expensive pieces to use. Thanks Ace!

I love “ACE Hardware” the people at this location are very friendly and nice. I wish they had a better return policy, that gave the customer the ability to return items to any location that carries the part like I was told by the Alexandria store. This will make me think twice about over buying at ACE, I will have to go to Home Depot or Lowe’s for items I’m not sure home much I will need because you can return to any location.

I went to this store today about a couple minutes before it opened. As I was walking towards the store, one of the employees told me we are not open yet. He did not say good morning, how are you, or any type of greeting. One employee however did walk over to me and say Ma'am you can come into the store because I do have a cashier available. As I walked into the store, it was 2 employees standing there. They both did not greet or acknowledge that I was even there. I had to greet them first and tell them GOOD MORNING!I was looking for hand sanitizer and asked them where it was. One employee stated oh we don't have any and have not had any for over 2 weeks now. I informed her that I saw it online that they were fully stocked. She stated I don't know why people keep saying that. I told them both to have a good day.The point of the matter is CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EVERYTHING!!!! I DROVE 30 minutes to get to this store and to receive this rude customer service was not worth the trip at all!!!

Frequent Customer No More.Before yesterday I would've rated this place at 5 stars. However, while shopping, I had an employee get in my face and accuse me of "lingering" and that I needed to hurry up. Surprised by his antics I didn't respond, paid my bill and left.The rest of the staff have been very helpful, and this place has about everything I need as a struggling DIYer. However I should not be the subject of harassment, and this one negative experience out of many past positive experiences there is enough for me to shop there no more, nor would I recommend this place to anyone.

Small store but well-stocked and employees are quite personable. The minute you walk in this store there are people waiting to help you with a very good attitude. The store does not have all of the things a large store would have, but the customer service is excellent. Just the fact that such a small store has managed to stay in existence with all the competition from the larger hardware stores is a feather in its cap. I truly like this store and would be more than happy to go back if I think there is something they would have that I need. Great location, in the strip mall at the corner of route 6 and 301.I have used the store in the past and I have never been disappointed. The prices are quite reasonable too.

Great little hardware store; it's well stocked and manned with plenty of helpful employees. This Ace always has what I need and the key center is amazing and very helpful and talented! I brought in a deadbolt from the front door of the house we recently bought (I called a local locksmith and he recommended this Ace) and they rekeyed it in minutes. I actually didn't have a new key yet that I wanted to use, but I planned on buying a replacement door knob for another door. This place let me pick out a door knob, then took the keys out, keyed the deadbolt to one of the new keys, and made duplicates.

Went in last week to get a grill and accessories. It started as not the best experience but I won’t go into that. What I wanna rave about is how well the management and people there bounced back from that bad taste. From asking questions about my concerns, to nailing the delivery and assembly. Super stoked that I have turned a 1 star, gonna go elsewhere review, to a 5 star for how well it was handled. Kudos to the team at this store and from the franchise as a whole for fixing my issues. I had an issue with the paint order (5 g.) that I received -no paint formula sticker or color sample on lid & ended up being the wrong color-. I returned to the store with the paint and had a great experience working with several people at ACE to correct the issue. They gave me the correct color mixture and back to work on my house I went. The paint counter worker (Thomas) & the co-owner (can't remember name) were super helpful, apologetic and fast acting to correct the issue. I have shopped here several times and will keep going back because of great staff/ownership like this. I have received friendly customer service every time shopping at this ACE Hardware.

Locally owned and operated. They may have a big brand name but the owners and their staff run this location like a neighborhood store. you'll be lucky to get two feet inside the door before someone asks if they can help you find what you're looking for. And if the person who asks doesn't know what you're looking for they are all on radio headsets and they can take you right there based on somebody else's direction. The selection here is amazing! They have top quality paint, tools, hardware, grills, smokers and pellet stove just to mention a few. Before you go to the big box stores stop by La Plata Ace. Great prices better value!

Without a doubt, the people there are friendly and helpful. Sadly, they are a bit over priced on just about everything in the store. When making a purchase, I have to decide if I want to drive about 18 miles to a home depot or lowes, or use the closeness of this store. If it is a small item, then I will use them, but for major purchases, I will use the other stores to save money even though I have to drive further.

I have been coming here for 7+ years for work items and keys being made. I have to say that Mike B is the friendliest associate and always there to help. There are times I may have up to 20+ keys made at one time and he is always on point and in a timely manner.

When Big box hardware stores let you down you can always go to Ace. I find the service and the experience much Superior. ACE also has cold Frostop Root beer and Birch beer in the cooler which is a reason to go all by itself.

Absolutely creepy! never been to the store, but received a call from the store saying that they noticed we were looking for a pellet stove on line ( about an hour earlier and did we have any questions etc.. my wife never went to their site, never put in any personal info. The only thing she did was click on a link at the stove manufacturer website inquiring on the nearest store that sold their products. I won't go to that store and will not buy that brand of stove. Harmon Stoves. Creepy, absolutely creepy!

We use the Ace here or in Charlotte Hall whenever possible, purposely driving out of our way. I think all are independent owner-operated but both have unparalleled customer service. It also doesn't take a half mile walk to go from lawn and garden to paint, every single employee is friendly and willing to help before you ask, the immense services are unmatched by larger chains, and they stock canning supplies and fishing gear. Finally, a sure bet you get a person on the phone instead of being placed in some weird computer voice recognition system only to be transferred to the window department when you're trying to inquire about concrete.

Went to have forklift propane tanks refilled; I refill them 2 to 3 times a week. Today four people were working, and no one knew how to fill the propane tank. Asked to see the manager he came out of his office yelling at me that I had to wait. Took me a half an hour to get my tanks refilled. The manager was a jerk. He should learn customer service skills.

I went here to get filters for my air return vents. As me and my son were walking up(we both had masks on) I was told that my son would have to wait outside, because they were not allowing children inside the store. It would be nice if they had this posted online or on their Facebook page. I'm not leaving my child stand outside by himself unattended. Who in their right mind would suggest such a thing. If he had been old enough I would ha e let him in the car. However that is against the law. There was no line and there were only two other cars in the parking lot. I understand that things need to be put in place for this crazy time, but to even suggest my child be left standing outside on a sidewalk is crazy.

I love this store! I used to go to Rosewick to the "New" Lowes for everything but there is something to be said about a store that has a mom and pop feel to it. This store has very helpful folks, they care about the store and their customers. Great job guys!!

Very well run store - great inventory including Craftsmen tools, great service, and even neat gift ideas. This place gives me good reason to avoid Lowes and Home Depot.
