It's not the fault of the employees, but PetSmart is ever understaffed, at all locations. If you know what you need when entering and don't require assistance, the selection is very good. The issue is one of dedicated positions. If the cashier is also the receiver, cleaner, stocker, groomer, and inventory counter, floor assistance and phone responses fail first. Prices are decent, compared with Amazon's, and parking is easy. My new fish are still among the living, after three weeks.

I have brought my dog here twice and neither experience has been good. The first time I swore all they did was shave him and didn’t give him a bath at all. Months later, I dismiss my prior negative experience because I’m in a bind and I needed my dog groomed.Unfortunately, it seems like I got the same run-around “oh he’s matted, he needs to be shaved short”…I have been to other groomers where, yes, there are mattes, but if they are minimal they are brushed out. And I payed for brushing to be included in the services I chose. Anal gland expressing is also supposed to be included, but why is my dog scooting a day after?I don’t understand what they did to my dog as he seems more anxious now than when he was groomed by them.In my opinion, their groomers are lazy and are just making excuses to just shave off all the hair so they don’t have to do the work. What are they doing in the 3-4 hours “grooming” my dog when there is no evidence that anything was done properly?Never again. Don’t go there to get your pet groomed.

Nice clean store. Arrangement is like no other Petsmart I've visited. I have to get Royal Canine Rx food for one of my dogs and they have theirs in a different area away from the regular RC dog food. I was initially bummed, as this was a long drive from my house for them not to have it. I decided to look around ..in my state of "bummedness" only to run right into the Rx food! Delighted with the find, I purchased the largest bag they had! I arrived late, but the salespeople were friendly and didn't except my apologies for keeping them. I still had a few mins before they closed! Terrific staff, stocked store, a little more expensive than my regular store, but had everything in stock that my store doesn't. I may have to bite the bullet and start going to this location!

FYI, the adoption center is open daily as long as the volunteers are available at the spot. Also the grooming services is available, so happy I finally have found good place for grooming my cat.

I have a 4.5lb Pomeranian who needed a haircut and nail trim. I took her in to her haircut apt with Hum. When I picked her up she looked Amazing! Hum did such an incredible job. She trimmed her ears so precisely and my dogs body was so round and cute. Highly recommend Hum!Update:Took my other Pom to get his hair cut and once again Hum did the best. I have never seen him look this cute. So happy

Somehow always knew this place will be the one I’ll go first looking for a kitty 😃 Finally I was pleased to meet and get a small little happiness for myself and my girlfriend! Kitty was adopted! Documents were easy to sign, stuff was super helpful-the whole store looks clean and well organised (my complement to the manager). We did buy everything right there without even opening Amazon. Kitty did get new home 🏡 We did get very happy ! Thank you PetSmart!

I always go here to purchased my pet supplies from fish to dogs for many years and I loved the service. With the new recent manager and new sales associates esp at fish section they won't sell me any fish they asked to much questions I tried to buy a dwarf powder blue gourami and I have 25 gallon tank with mollies only. This butch tattooed lady she said is my tank is to small. I used to work at a aquarium store so I'm very knowledgeable about fish. So. I didn't bother to argue with her so I left. I came back a month later. I tried to purchase a koi because is too skinny just to save it. The same butch lady again and did the same thing then I called for manager(blond tall lady) she said she won't sell me the 2 inch koi that I want to purchase coz they said I need a 240 gallon tank. I told them I have 125 gallon tank already with 1 butterfly ogon koi. All their koi is crump in a 5 gallon tank like 12 of them. How come they hesitate to sell a fish. This petsmart location is going down due to poor customer service and odd new manager. I went to petsmart Germantown instead and I have no problem purchasing any fish or stuffs.

My dog's haircut was horrible. The hair on her back, legs, and chest is very uneven, and she's bald in some places. Overall, the hair is shorter than the groomer indicated it would be. The groomer refused to do any de-matting, though my dog had very few mats. The hair on the top of her head was cut very poorly, and the hair above her eyes and near her mouth is uneven and not symmetrical. Her ears and mouth are also still visibly dirty, so I wonder if any part of her head or face was actually cleaned during the bath. I'm extremely disappointed with the price of this haircut ($94). I feel that the services rendered were beyond subpar for the price, and I wish there was a way to get my money back.My dog is a 20-lb miniature golden doodle.

I went into Petsmart this morning because my 2.5 yr old son's montessori school had a wishlist for fish for the tank in their classroom.I arrived when they opened. I walked around the entire store looking for an associate 3 times before almost walking out. The store was empty. When i got to the front of the store finally an employee walked across me. I asked for help in the fish department he gave me an attitude and told me to wait.I waited a few minutes then proceeded to walk back to where the fish were. Slowly,here walks up this short guy who is still talking to other employees in the back and isn't friendly to me at all.I tell him I'm there for tetra fish for my sons school.He begins to ask me all these specific questions about the tank. How big? How many gallons?I said i dont know. It's at the school I've seen it its pretty big. And they already had some tetra fish in there. But i don't know exact amounts. He then says I cannot sell you the fish???!!!!So the school that had fish prior and has a tank set up,put out in their newsletter they wanted fish and specified the kind they wanted and I go to get the fish which are only like $2 a fish, and this guy won't sell them to me???!!!!I asked for a manager. He said he was the manager. I said your name tag only says your name,Harrison and does not specify that you are a manager. He calls out to somebody and he comes walking over nonchalantly and Harrison says "tell her I'm a manager she doesn't believe I'm your manager.This guy who says his name is Chris has no name tag once so ever I don't even know if he was an employee or not. I wasn't going to continue to argue. This was going nowhere and Harrison was intent on not selling me the fish.I ended up walking out and driving 25 min to the other Petsmart on cherry hill.5 min in,5 min out. I walk out with my fish no questions asked!!! :)I have never ever had such a problem in such a short amount of time inside a store by an employee claiming to be a manager who wouldn't sell me fish for my son's school for Christmas!!!!!!! Extremely rude,extremely unprofessional!!!!!Petsmart do better!!!!! I won't be coming back to this location ever again.

Please do not use Petsmart groomers. I scheduled an appointment to have my dog groomed at the Petsmart on Nicholson Road in Rockville. The groomer was 20 minutes late and when I returned my dog was being rushed to the on-site veterinarian. She cut my dogs paw and it was bleeding. He ended up injured and has to wear a cone for a week. I had to insist on the right size cone. I also had to ask for a refund. My dog was traumatized after this experience. Please don’t take your dog to this grooming salon.

It's such a lovely place! It has everything you need for your pets, and they also have all kinds of pets on display! Cats, lizards, turtoises, birds, hamsters, etc... I actually adopted my first and only cat here, and the process was very smooth! She's still alive and very healthy, which means they treat their animals very well!

PetSmart is a great store. I work at Banfield inside . EXCEPT GROOMING , Today I took my dog for a Bath . Her first ever bath and it was a horrible experience . I dropped her off at 1:25pm her appointment was at 1:30pm . 3:20pm here comes the grooming people with my dog and claiming she cut 1 of her front paws in the divider of the cage . except all 3 of her paws were bleeding and cut .Working over at Banfield , we get a number of accidents from this grooming salon and i tried to give them the benefit of the doubt . Considering she was just receiving a bath . Either this salon needs to be shut down or they need to put all of the grooming employees back to training .NO APOLIGY from the pet smart grooming manger .BY THE WAY . LOVE THATThank you Lindsey for the apology .If you could avoid this grooming salon please do !

I adopted my 3-month-old kitten there, I paid $175, you also have to buy that same day a mix of approximately $40 additional in food, litter box and other things that is mandatory when you sign the contract, but we are happy with our pet it's a sweetie good attention.

I have been purchasing birds here for years.On Thursday Feb 8, I was harassed by management that I didn't have the proper cage to house 2 parakeets.I have different cages at home but the store only allowed me to buy 1 bird.Boycott this store and their discriminating practices.

DO NOT go here. The customer service team is vial, at best. I tried to call and speak to a manager and was put on hold for a long time. The people who work here are rude, and no one addressed my concerns. Not surprising given that it's a chain but still...I had taken my dog here many times before with no issues. I would highly recommend that management invest in customer service training, at a minimum.

We took our 12-year-old chihuahua with a heart condition to get groomed here. The grooming manager, Cayla, was so incredibly helpful to us. She found a way for us to get an express appointment (a necessity for pets with heart problems) that worked with our schedule. Then, when she broke her hand and couldn’t groom him, she found a way to get us in with someone else ASAP. She really went above and beyond, and we are very grateful to her for that. The gentlemen who ended up grooming our dog, Chris, did a wonderful job. This is the best haircut I think he’s ever had there. Then, when I went to pick him up, I saw Chris had our dog sitting happily on his lap at the front desk instead of putting him in a kennel, which could’ve stressed out him and his heart. It was so sweet! I highly recommend this grooming center to anyone, especially to those with pets who have chronic heart conditions. It was such a relief to know he was in good hands!

When I went to go purchase something at the register this white girl with dirty blonde hair in a bun, and red acne attended me. I greeted her and and she didn’t greet me back which is fine maybe she was having a bad day. However the entire time she looked like she was irritated that I even chose her register to begin with. She never offered me a bag and I had a lot of stuff. She literally watched me struggle carry my stuff with her arms crossed. If you hate you’re job so much get a new one lady.

The adoption volunteers at this location are really great. You can tell they actually care about finding the cats a good home. The manager is also super nice. Bought this adult cat, sprout, here. He's the best!

Poor eye contact from her groomer and no smiles upon my arrival. Poor communication regarding whether my dog was done -got a call, arrived on time, she saw me, then disappeared in the back for awhile, so I took a walk around the store to kill time with my sleepy toddler. Returned to the salon and still no acknowledgment. Eventually someone caught my eye and went to get her she claimed she came back out, but usually PetSmart will announce when the dog is done on store speaker. It’s not like I left! I’ll be going to the Cherry Hill SS location from now on.

So I took my dog here to get groomed! And at first I thought she was fine until I noticed she wasn’t the same (which I’m used to when she goes to the groomers) but she usually goes back to normal.I checked her vaginal place and noticed it was inflamed (it is not her period as she just had it a month ago). after talking to my vet it was concluded that they cut too far down. Never again will i take her here again! and i suggest you guys find somewhere else!

Always have exactly what I need for my cat. Most employees are knowledgeable about products and their locations. Some rude, ghetto folks do work there but are few and far between. Better prices than other stores with pet products if you use your Pet Perks Card.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Horrible and unbelievable experience especially with J-----a, the incredibly unprofessional manager. Staffed arrived 20 minutes after the scheduled grooming appointment and then claimed our rabies documentation was insufficient. When we gave them the physical copies the dogs were taken back for their grooming for me only to be called 20 minutes later that they no longer wanted to groom the dogs. Was YELLED at by the manager for the facilities lack of communication and faults of their own.

Do NOT come to this petsmart for dog grooming needs. The ladies are rude, lazy and unprofessional not to mention are impatient with the DOGS they applied to work with. I dropped my dog off to an appointment today 7/2/23 and the lady who he was supposed to have was rude and making passive aggressive comments about the matting he has despite them offering dematting so clearly dogs get matted and you fix it. I was gone for TWO minutes before they called and said they couldn’t cut him because he was too anxious… even though I told them it was his first time at the groomers AND he’s been there literally again 120 seconds. Other dogs were whining while being serviced and the lady was making comments to them and calling the dogs a drama Queen. Take what you will but do NOT bring your animals to them if you love them

I usually take my dog to another facility which I’m extremely happy with but this time my pup was in real need of a bath and they were booked . I saw PetSmart had availability so I said why not, it’s just a bath. However, she still smells … I understand it could be a dog thing but anytime I take her to my usual space she comes back smelling sooo good and fresh . It’s like I never even took her to get a bath. I’m disappointed that I wasted $50 when I could’ve used the pet wash in my apartment and had the same or better outcome .
