I can't say enough good things about Paw by Paw!! Our girl Mocha was honestly a nightmare. We were at our wits end with her and were terrified of her behavior. She was absolutely impossible to walk or take ANYWHERE. She'd lunge at every dog she would see with total intent on killing it. Her fear aggression was extremely dangerous and we truly thought she was going to have to be put to sleep. After a few months of training with Paw by Paw, we were given the tools needed to completely turn her around. They went above and beyond to help save her because they saw exactly what we saw in her. She could be an amazing, loving, playful dog, she just needed a little extra help. And now, she not only has more confidence and obedience, but we have a lot more faith and trust in her. We couldn't be more grateful for everything they've done and continue to do for our family ❤️And a huge shout out to her trainer/best friend Rowan, for really being there for us every step of the way DAY and NIGHT. We wouldn't have gotten her here today without you. You're a true blessing.

Jack and I had a great experience with Madison at Paws by Paws Dog Training. She was very attentive and was great at training me so I could help Jack be a better dog. Other trainers were also very helpful in making suggestions especially around Jack's reactivity. Jack successfully graduated from one on one classes and is now ready to attend group classes. Bubba and I love Paw by Paw Dog Training. Nothing but great things to say about all of the coaches who helped him throughout his journey. Especially Rowan, he listened to everything I wanted to improve about Bubba and never saw him as a bad dog just as one who could be a better version of himself. He also did a great job of working with my schedule and of teaching me the right and wrong ways to train my dog at home. Everyone who sees him from the start of training to now has nothing but positive things to say about all of his improvements. I will definitely be taking more paw by paw classes now that we’ve graduated from the intro class.

We found Paw by Paw when looking for a place to train our new puppy, and are so happy we did. Beyond the puppy training which is top-notch and results in a well-balanced and wonderful dog to be around, we were excited to see all the other offerings that help support us in ongoing bonding and training with our dog - graduate classes, agility classes, and nosework classes are activities we both look forward to each week. When we recently took in a foster dog, there was no question that he would also be enrolled at Paw by Paw for training and the supportive environment of the facility, trainers, and other dog owners. We put Barfi in training in November 2023. By the end of the year, she was already acing place training, getting better with no-pull leash walking, waiting and so many other commands. We are absolutely overjoyed at how far Barfi has come and can't thank Paw by Paw enough for this. Special kudos to Joanna for being so patient with Barfi. Behavior training makes such a difference and we are so glad we trusted Paw by Paw with our pup.

We enrolled our 6 month old puppy, Gerty, into doggie day care as soon as we heard about Paw by Paw. Our dog is now almost 2 years old and we still enjoy taking her to group classes for group classes consistently! We didn’t have the time to train her at home so we felt Doggie Day Care would be the best option for her to get the most out of training while she was young. We live in downtown Bethesda and it was very important for us that she learn the basic commands like wait, let’s go, sit, down, and come so that she was safe walking near lots of strangers and cars. Paw by Paw did an incredible job teaching her these core commands and we use them every single day, they are second nature to her now and it gives me a peace of mind to know she is safer because of it. We also enjoy the unlimited group classes as refreshers and she loves the agility course! David and the training team are truly experts, they are so kind and welcoming; we highly recommend Paw by Paw!

We had such a good experience at Paw by Paw! Our dog Mr. Bear needed basic obedience training as well as behavior modification for his reactivity towards other dogs. The trainer Rowan was fantastic: knowledgeable, clear, and patient! Although the upfront price tag was big, it was well worth it; we received unlimited 1:1 classes and unlimited group classes. Now, after lots of hard work (yes, you really have to practice at home), we've seen such huge progress with Mr. Bear. He just "graduated" and we've started to get compliments on his behavior when we walk him in the neighborhood. Thank you again, Paw by Paw team!!

I absolutely loved Paw by Paw. Though I grew up with dogs, this is my first time owning one on my own. I knew I needed guidance for training her. PbP was incredible from the first consultation to the end.1. Staff - The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. It feels like a family/community there which made going very welcoming and comfortable. Great service and training all around.2. Training - Honestly, I was blown away by the training. The focus is not only to train the dog, but you as the owner as well. I learned how to properly make corrections on her behavior -jumping, pulling on the leash, etc. My trainer, Rowan, switched me to a different collar that made a world of difference with walking my dog. Impulse control was another issue my dog Bella struggled with and with Rowan's guidance, Bella has improved in this regard. For example, she can stay in "place" for 2 hours which I never thought she would be able to do.3. It is worth it- There are payment plans which make it affordable and unlimited group classes forever? Absolutely. I will definitely be partaking.I very much enjoyed being able to ask Rowan (highly recommend) various questions about training - goals, techniques, opinions- which was really helpful to me as I continue to work with Bella on my own.

I sought out Paw by Paw because our adopted 8 month puppy needed to learn some manners and training, he was not listening to us at home so I knew we needed to find some help. In just three weeks with dog day camp and thanks to the staff and our trainer Rowan we have a completely different dog! Murray now listens to commands, is more confident when we are on walks and around other dogs, and I feel he is now bonded with our family. I am so thankful for Paw by Paw training!! Previously, I had spent a lot of time in positive-only classes. It was good relationship building with my dog, but I was not learning tactics to address our issues. It was stressful. Within just a few lessons at PBP, we had made so much progress on my pup’s reactivity and got a lot of good advice about handling demand barking, people entering the home, etc. I have referred a few people to PBP and they have all been pleased. It’s a professionally run operation, the trainers are very knowledgeable… and they truly are invested in helping you make progress. I will admit that the idea of prong collars and e collars bothered me, but I think with appropriate guidance and with a combination of a ton of treats, they can be useful tools .

What a wonderful experience during a hard time for a close friend. Joanna was so amazing and patient with Rosie Cotton after an unfortunate situation which left her owner unable to take her young puppy to training and the best we could swing was me attending training with her once a week while her mama was in the hospital to not waste those important, spongy, puppy months. Even without being able to provide all the proper reinforcement in her temporary home for the first few weeks, she worked with Rosie and all her puppy quirks so well, and then re-taught the training with her mama when she was able to attend again, and helping her mama continue to train her even with new physical impairment. I still can't believe the progress she made through it all! Thanks for all your help, Joanna!

Amazing experience for our family. Jack attended the Doggy Day Training program - and it was time well spent! The staff was professional, knowledgeable, patient, and kind. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our trainer Cameron is excellent! He is training my puppy Pebbles a.k.a devil dog how to be a little lady with self control! He's very patient, calm and explains everything so that I understand why we are working on what each session.At 1st I was skeptical but now I see each lesson feeds into the next like building blocks creating a solid foundation. Our golden retriever, Cooper, attended the Doggie Day School with the best trainers we have ever worked with. I brought my 2 dogs here for doggy day school, self wash station, and the group classes. My family and my dogs enjoy coming here. We are thankful to the Paw by Paw family. My family is especially grateful to Rowan, Cam, and Joanna for helping us get our dogs to where they are now, which is by far a better place. My dogs were stubborn, hyper, and loving. We were told by a different training facility that one of my dogs couldn't be trained and were told that we should rehome them. Paw by paw evaluated them before making any rush judgment and accepted them with open arms. Now they are more responsive, obedient, energetic, and still so loving. The trainers worked with us and were very transparent. It was a great partnership and very eye opening. My family and I learned alongside my dogs and its been an amazing experience.

Paw by Paw ( specifically David, Carmen and Joanna) helped us with our dog's issues. We had a few private sessions and then moved to group class. I never imagined that he would be able to tolerate being around so many dogs, but he loved going to class. This was all pre-pandemic and before Paw by Paw had their own space. We have been to the new place to use the dog wash station which is really nice and much needed since Pet Valu and their dog wash stations are gone.

Our toy poodle started with Paw by Paw in 2019 when he was six months old. David, Carmen, and Joanna were really patient and spent a lot of time training us and Biggie (mostly us) to make sure that the skills we learned in class became habits at home. We noticed results almost immediately and by graduation, he was a different dog and we were better owners. My 6-year-old American Alsatian developed some leash reactivity during the pandemic, and we were stumped. Prior to summer of 2020 he loved everyone, dog or human, but was now suddenly lunging and snarling at strangers. 120 lbs of barking direwolf dog was understandably terrifying the neighbors, so we decided to seek professional help, and I am so glad I found Paw by Paw.I originally submitted an inquiry for behavior modification, but as I described my dog's history during our first free consultation, Melissa advised that we try Obedience 101 instead as it sounded like the issue was more confidence than aggression. After graduating from his five weeks of private sessions, I am happy to report Rumble is much improved our walks, with much better impulse control and attention to us. I am so impressed that the team listened to our story and gave a great recommendation for us, and also tailored Rumble's training to suit him (he already had a good foundation in his commands, so the team could push us further to hone his existing training). Every trainer we learned from was empathetic and knowledgeable.I absolutely recommend the Paw by Paw team to help you and your dog learn how to be better partners to one another, we loved our experience and look forward to group classes!

I can’t even begin to describe what an AMAZING job Paw by Paw did training our dog. The trainers are incredible and beyond kind. Our dog was a nightmare when we brought him there. After three weeks the change was remarkable. The trainers are beyond supportive and willing to do whatever it takes to get your dog trained and to help you learn how to continue the training at home.
