Oh, bravo to this store for its ingenious approach to tackling homelessness! Clearly, their strategy is to harass shoppers who, in their oh-so-enlightened and unbiased opinion, *appear* homeless. I mean, why bother addressing the actual issue when you can just blame and inconvenience those who are already struggling?And let's not forget their decision to close down self-checkout, undoubtedly a move to promote unity and a sense of community. Who needs efficiency and convenience when you can enjoy the wonderful company of unprofessional checkout clerks and serpentine lines, right?Kudos to this store for championing the cause of making homelessness seem less significant while simultaneously making their customers' lives as insignificant as possible. Truly, they are an ethical beacon in our society! *slow clap*

Parking: Plentiful! There's a second-level lot that is virtually empty and an elevator that opens inside of the store. If you wanna avoid the raindrops, park downstairs and there won't be a drop on ya. The parking is free; it's safe to leave the ticket provided at the drop-arm entrance inside your vehicle. When the shopping is complete, feed the ticket into the machine and exit. I rated 4 stars rather than 5 because the location has a population of people camping out at the entrance and begging from the customers walking in and out. Safe Way doesn't seem to be doing anything about the loitering because the number has increased from one to a handful. They've hired Security, but I challenge anyone reading this review to produce a photo of one of them standing outside. The security officers are nestled safely (inside) of the story at all times. Some customers prefer to avoid being approached by an unknown individual in the parking lot especially when preoccupied with groceries and potentially a reduced situational awareness about their safety. The store shelves stock most items, but I recommend using the parking upstairs.

Entire aisles are frequently reorganized/shifted around for no apparent reason, without signage being updated respectively. Employees are rude, combative, and otherwise useless. Checkout lines are always unacceptably long.

I just took someone else there and waited in the garage, but I guess the waiting time wasn't bad, they were out in less than thirty minutes. š

This Safeway is a great addition to the neighborhood after the old Hyattsville Safeway on Hamilton Street closed several years ago. It's design is much more urban than most other grocery stores, with garage parking in lieu of a sprawling surface lot, and two entrances that feed onto a pedestrian-friendly sidewalk. Located near the Prince George's Plaza Metro station, it's a great walkable grocery store with good prices and variety. Does it get busy at peak times (after work and on Sunday afternoons/evenings)? Of course it does, but so do most grocery stores. And like many a Trader Joe's, even when the express line is snaking for what seems like an eternity, it generally moves pretty quickly.

This is a great store. Itās very clean and organized and it has an express checkout lane and self checkout as well. At the entrance there are wipes for you to sanitize your car although they are already sanitized. Overall great place highly recommend coming here.

Clean. Well stocked and organized. The only minor issue is the location - on the corner of the always - very - busy 410 East West Highway. This location has a parking garage with free parking - up to 60 minutes or so. I prefer the more traditional shopping center locations, but it's all good at the end of the day!

I love the prices and that the store is very clean. One of the workers always recognizes my son. She gives him stickers and makes him laugh while we stand in line. My only dislike of the store is that there is usually only one cashier open for customers buying MORE than 15 items. I reccomend opening up a second line, especially on Sunday afternoons. Oh and I love the "customer in training" carts. Perfect for my son's size.

I love this location. Although not the closest to my house, it is my preffered one. The store is large, clean and has great options and availability. The employees are kind and always willing to help. I would also like to recognize Mr. Carlos Williams for assisting me with my FreshPass order today. Thank you for your excellent customer service and ensuring my order was delivered in timely manner.

Just another Safeway. Well kept, good assortment and there's both coffee and food if you need something after your shopping. Lines are slow though so don't be in a hurry.

Update***How does this location have a 4.4 star review??? I avoid this location but found myself in order to purchase bread and i regret it! I usually shop at Trader Joes. Firstly, no small carts available or hand held. I walk all the way to the register to see a stack and an employee on her phone. Secondly, the meat selection was that of a third workd country; old and scarse! The only saving grace was this outstanding asian employee; he is always helpful and working. I had to stand my own groceries while the employee stood and did not even greet us. I should get paid to scam and bag my own groceries. I hate this location.The Safeway staff (produce, bakery, deli and meat) is great accept when it's time to check out!!!!!! Augh! I decided not to scan my own items and I felt like I was bothering the cashiers from their social hour. I stood at the express lane which had the light on meaning open but all I could see is one of the ladies leaning on the counter and on her phone swiping. I greeted her and she responded by getting the attention of some other cashier. No greeting or smile; I felt like I was being an inconvenience. I then noticed a young Asian women discussing scheduling with the cashiers; who appeared to have "zero" respect for her (their) supervisor or customers The lack of work ethic, respect was disgraceful- I would fire them all!! SAD SAD SAD Safeway.

I came here today and purchased pork chops from the meat section(look at the color difference),when I got home I opened the meat and the worst smell of rotted meat hit me. So I brought it back for a refund and they gave me a $9.00 gift card instead smh.Annisaq hall was very rude . I went to the meat department and made them remove all the pork products because it was all rotted and they just put a new date on the package to make it look good. This will all be reported to the health department this is the 3 rd time this happened I am not shopping here anymore.luckily I told other customers that were grabbing the meat it was no good someone will get very 𤢠sickUpdate feb.17,2024 they still have not corrected anything! They still rewrap rotted meat

Lines are often long and staff have been rude to me on multiple occasions. The carts lock up and get stuck in the elevator. My partnerās hand got caught in the elevator door because it closed too soon. Parking is consistently difficult, including trying to find a spot and getting through the parking lot gate, which frequently breaks down. People illegally park their cars in the road alongside the building, making it difficult to get in and out of the store. Itās a terrible shopping experience all around. Iām going to drive farther out to other grocery stores just to avoid this place.

Staff at registers are quite friendly, Store Manager great today! Only issue is Saturday noon not a good time to visit because pushing and not saying excuse me happens, a lot. Try during the week and good luck!

I really like THIS Safeway. Normally I shop at 4+ different places to get the various supplies I need in my kitchen.There's Whole Foods for the fancy stuff (which of course you pay for), there's Trader Joe's and Lidl for FROZEN and PACKAGED staples, and then Grand Mart for actual produce.But when I need standard American kitchen ingredients to include:- Meats,- Cheeses,- Condiments,- Bakery,- Deli,And my personal favorite...- Baking Supplies,...then I choose THIS Safeway.It has a vast baking aisle, full of many choices, it's affordable, and they've got the best cake and cupcake decorating supplies anywhere in the area.The parking is super easy, just shoot right up to the roof where you can always find available spaces close to the elevator.The store is CLEAN, well ORGANIZED, brightly LIT.THIS is my Safeway.

The store is always clean and stocked. I love that about this Safeway. Y'all need to work on customer service though. The cashier my step-dad jad didn't even speak. Acting like being courteous and speaking was too much for her. Also the woman they had working self checkout was the same with the not wanting to be bothered attitude. She actually gave a heavy sigh when a customer called her over for help. Maybe it was just something in the air that day, other than that, this is a great place to shop

They were out of a item that I needed. The other Safeways didn't have the item either. But the buyer at this Safeway ordered it for me. You see, I'm a handicapped senior. So he helped me by ordering extra of this item. We need more people like him who go out of their own way to compassionately help others. I thank you Simon. It meant a lot to me. God Bless you.

This Safeway is smaller..feels more intimate. Quality for produce, food and dairy are excellent and plentiful.Customer service is awesome..based on direct conversation with two employees.Parking good! Free up to two hours. Definitely will shop here again!!

Nice store. This particular Safeway has almost every daily essentials; the store is a clean and well-designed. Checkout is fast and convenient. The store assistant, Brittany, is helpful and take customersā savings as her priority! This is a highly recommended store!

Wow. Was surprised to find some produce that are selling for great prices, compare to TJ's, Lidl and while foods. Most are still higher than all listed above. I found myself thinking, I should visit this shop on a more regular basis. Definitely, the best decaf coffee you can find - both organic and water processed by O organics - the Safeway brand.

First of all, I would like to say this rebuke not for the whole store, today I went and purchased some drinks from Starbucks and the cashier was so rude, I couldnāt believe it. For starters when I got to the cash register she walked out and never said anything, like, āIāll be backā or nothing. A lady came over from the deli and was like sheās not working over there but she was really nice about it. I asked the one working back there would she be a minute, while walking pass, she like looked at me like I was bothering her⦠she came back and her attitude was awful, the way she talked to me was way unprofessional. I figured maybe she was tired, but she handled a white customer with so much respect, I couldnāt believe it was the same person. I said right there, wow, she treating you so nice, and the lady said yes she did, sheās very nice. I mentioned how she treated me, lady says, maybe because Iām older, with that being said, donāt treat people of color bad because you think there a nobody, she donāt know who I am. She makes good drinks just unprofessional.

Donāt even think about ordering online!!!! Currently Sitting in my car writing this review as I wait 25 mins and counting for my drive up & go order. At this point I could have went in the store and did my own grocery shopping and checked out by now. I even had to call to see if they were coming and was told that they would page them. What is the point of my ordering ahead for me to have to sit for more than 25 mins waiting for your employees to bring my stuff to the car. I guess I need to stick with Whole Foods since they take care of their customers in a timely fashion.

Iāve been shopping here for over a year and between here and the other grocery store, Safeway is waaayyyy better. The online order is my FAVORITE!!!! I can typically have my order in less than 2 hours from ordering. I was initially skeptical about them picking my produce, but I always get the best batchesā¦No yucky strawberries or rotted oranges, perfect!! Always a great experience

This Safeway is consistently the worst Iāve ever been to. The employees are almost always rude, snarky, and donāt seem to care to help anyone. There are NEVER enough checkout lanes open, and the employees just donāt want to be there. A travesty of a store.

I usually like this location, but the past few times Iāve been here all the onions have been mushy or the garlic and ginger has had massive obvious mold. Super sad because itās not worth it for me to drive out here if Iām gonna have to leave to get my vegetables somewhere else.

Although this Safeway is nice on the inside, the staffing there could be a little more supportive and considerate! Iāve gone there twice to get fresh sliced turkery and both times though later in the evening, was turned away saying that they were closed! I asked another associate what time the butchers block closed and was told 8pm. I was there at 740pm asking for assistance. The second time I was there at 730pm. Thats not the right experience and to make matters worse, after asking for assistance, the associate there pointed to the precut meats and said āget what you need from there, im closed and im cleaning!ā Needs to have some personnel changes as customer service and experience is not at the top of their priorities as of the moment!

The flower selection from the third party company "pro flowers" are vast, beautiful, and fresh. But I had a bad experience with Fatima. She acted as if the bags she was tossing in the garbage was for sale. They had no price tag and she didn't even offer for me to purchase one. Told me I'd be fine driving with a vase full of water and it was my responsibility. When she walked away, I snagged a bag from the garbage. She yelled out that I was stealing and she would report me.smh you just lost a customer during the holiday season.
