The CVS health insurance/pharmacy system is just one of many designed to make money by avoiding honoring its commitments by providing medication prescribed by your doctor. Two examples1. Doctor prescribed my child medication, but I received no word about it being filled for over a week, so I called in"Oh, we thought we sent you a notification, but after the doctor spoke to us we did not place the order in the system because we cannot receive this medication""What does 'we cannot receive this medication' mean? Can't you just order it and give it to me?""Well, we can order it but we know that it won't come""Why can't it come? Who decides to look at the order and ignore it?""We don't know"Still not sure what that's about, but what a system where they can take an order from your doctor and then just decide not to order it because of some mysterious, unwritten rule that says the order will be ignored2. I received an unexpectedly high price for a medication. My insurance [CVS/Caremark, incidentally] has been on file for a while"Is that with or without insurance?""Looks like without""Oh, does my insurance not cover it?""No, it does cover it -- but the system didn't process it""How come the system didn't process it""Your CVS card has some rewards on it and the system uses those first and if it uses those it doesn't charge insurance since we can't use both""I'd like my insurance to be charged""OK, the only way I can figure out to do that is to disable all the rewards on your CVS card which I've done now"~~~~~~~Now, to be clear, nothing against the individual employees who work here or at CVS in general. But the CVS system, even if you have CVS drug insurance, is designed to throw up barriers of unwritten, opaque rules so that they don't have to pay what they owe. They hope you give up and they can make a profit -- and, often, that's all you can do. There's no actual way to make a complaint someone will listen to on the system, you just have to roll with it.At least here someone could possibly see the little frustrations CVS insurance/pharmacy is happy to throw at you every day

Customers were very odd acting. Two different sets of three black people were together as if they all needed to be together while shopping for about 2 items. Weird to me and possibly should be monitored due to theft. They were odd.

The allegra allergy medicine has not been on the aisle with the rest of the allergy medicine since April of 2023. You need to order this medicine and get back on the shelf. The other stores have it near you. I get the most respect from this store. But not having this on the shelf tells that there is a problem. It need to be address and make sure to get it back on the shelf.

This 5-star is for Chris who did an amazing job with customer service on his evening shift. Since I’ve been in PG County, I’ve had poor customer service experiences in all CVS’. This was my first time at this location and for a change, I had a positive experience. Chris was prompt when I needed assistance, patient, helpful, professional, and kind. Everything a customer looks for when visiting a store briefly. Other team members in the county needs to look at how it’s done here.

The pharmacy has always worked efficiently, calling me and telling me when they have or don’t have my medication in stock, advising me on costs, etc. The general store seems to be stocked well and tidy, and the staff is pleasant. I have no complaints.

AWFUL experience when I was in horrific pain. Without my authorization and likely due to an error, my doctor’s office choose this CVS to fill my prescriptions. I’ve never been to this CVS and do not live near it, I listed another CVS as my pharmacy. After waiting hours in pain with no updates on the app, calling my doctor’s office, and figuring out what happened, my doctor’s office said they had corrected the error and that the prescriptions would be filled at my chosen CVS. After waiting even more time, still in terrible pain, for an update on my prescription through the app, I called my chosen CVS and they said the prescription still hadn’t been released from the Hyattsville CVS and that I would need to call them to secure the release. I did, and even though I was polite despite being in horrible pain, the employee was completely unprofessional, very rude, and hung up on me. I’ve worked in customer service so I make it a point to be courteous, keeping my voice low and saying please and thank you. At least it seems she managed to release the prescription properly, much to my shock given everything I had been through to that point. If I could give ZERO stars I would.

Interacting with the pharmacy is a Kafkaesque experience, as they refuse to offer assistance or answer questions and approach all interactions with active malice and hostility.

The managers is a male who from what I gathered runs late to opening a lot. So avoid mornings at this place. The pharmacy staff is mostly nice. They are quick to catch an attitude. Like when my spouse and I went to a "Walk-in" vaccine. She asked if we had made an appointment. It's a walk-in. I didn't need one, honey. Of course I didn't respond like that but I wasn't expecting the harshness in her voice. The rest of the staff is rude also. The only person who cares is the woman with pale blonde hair. She is the pharmacy tech and really gently. She should be the Manager.

I was apprehensive about going to this pharmacy after reading the negative reviews, but my experience at this CVS was good. The pharmacist was caring, I thought. She wanted to keep an eye on you after you got your vaccine shot and had seats set up where she can keep an eye on you. There was no such attention at a Gaithersburg CVS. The person who registered for the vaccine was nice, too. All the people at the pharmacy were constantly doing things and were very busy. I didn't observe any laziness.

I'm not sure about the other reviews on here, maybe it used to be pretty bad, but I really have grown to appreciate this place after having it become my regular pharmacy for the last year. Granted, the aisles can feel a little cramped, and sometimes there are long lines for the pharmacy, but I don't think that's really unique to this place (I experience the longest ones usually around evening rush hour, and that's been the case everywhere I've lived). I got a flu shot here from an awesome and really nice pharmacist, and I've had some of the most pleasant interactions with a cashier ever here.

This location is horrible. The pharmacy didn't scan my medications correctly into the bag for delivery and so I've been out of my meds for days because of their mistake. The woman in the pharmacy was very rude and refused to help me, so now I'm just out of meds thanks to their negligence. What a nightmare this place is. They need to hire people in the pharmacy who actually care about the patients.

This store is mostly okay, but never go here if you're in a hurry. Tonight I was made to wait over twenty minutes in the drive thru before someone answered the window. I pressed the button several times and no one even acknowledged me. Sadly, the pharmacist decided to get into an argument with a customer instead!If this were an isolated event, I would understand. It's not. It is really difficult to make it through this store in a timely manner.Also, don't bother calling this pharmacy. I was on hold for 10 minutes then the pharmacist hung up on me before allowing me a chance to ask a second question, presuming the first was completed. When I called back I was placed on hold 5 minutes and they hung up on me after asking me to hold. I called a third time and was told to wait several more minutes because another customer was in front of me in the queue, even though I had first called 15 minutes before...

1. The pharmacy customer service is ignorant and consistently rude.2. Don’t bother calling the pharmacy and if you do expect at least a 20min wait on hold.3. The pharmacy hours are really 9am-9pm, so don’t bother reading the hours on the internet.4. The drive-thru window is down often.5. The pharmacy lines are ALWAYS long, because they’re clear severely understaffed, with sarcastic employees.

Yesterday I came to the pharmacy with a chronic pain due to a permanent problem I have. Asked to an employee about some pain killers and she told me to wait for the pharmacy specialist. Her name is LINDA. She kindly listened to me and recommended me a specific medication over the counter, so I could have better days without pain before my Doctor’s appointment in two more weeks. So... I have to say that I had the best experience at the pharmacy and highly recommend everyone to visit this place when the time to get the right medications will come. I have to say that LINDA, recommended me to make sure I visit a doctor in relation to my problem. And today I came back to the Pharmacy to buy some other items; made the line to the cashier and once again; another young lady was at the register and very friendly and kindly asked me for my CVS card. She was very efficient asistíng me to get the discounts on the purchased items and very nicely was able to help me. Her name is JACKELYN, I definetly will make this location my pharmacy of choice; don’t matter if I have to drive the extra miles just to get the nice and polite treatment I was able to experience this time. Please, keep up with the good work you do...👍🏼

Ordered photos printed for same day delivery. Received an email that they were in the process of being printed. Went to the store *the next day* and they told me they were out of paper and didn't print the photos. There was no e-mail notifying me of this. Offered no alternative or discount as compensation. They also never answer the phone at this store so don't even bother calling

They have a significant lack of customer service: Pharmacy Department ,one short hair and blonde lady was rude and mocking , and she said "For me the products of this company is no useful" she was talking about CVS app, she does not want to use for pick up a prescription plus when she is in the drive-thru ALWAYS is a BIG line waiting for. I don't know why this person is working with clients if they no are happy helping others. I called customer service they call me back and have good intentions, but still the same problem in this store.I consider moving another branch o local Pharmacy.One year ago the SERVICE IS WORST THE SAME RUDE AND NOT POLITE STAFF.

Do not patronize this CVS. I was provided a receipt by the store manager named Sierra that claimed she couldn't provide me with a adequate receipt. She also would not give us the number to corporate offices stating " I don't know it because people usually don't return stuff" She informed us that their printer is broken and the store Kiosk. Stated we could "Google it"........WARNING....SHE INFORMED US THE ONLY WAY TO RETURN ANY ITEMS TO THIS STORE IS TO CONTACT CORPORATE DUE TO THE RECEIPT NOT BEING COMPLETE.....We will definitely continue calling corporate offices until we log a complaint.

My doctor called in a prescription on Wednesday and I called this location the next day at 11:30AM to verify the prescription was ready for pick up. They said they did not have the prescription and that there may have been an "error" in the doctor calling it in. They constantly state their computers are "down" and they cannot check anything.This is not the first time this location has had issues with prescriptions. They are generally rude and dismissive on the phone and have no care what so ever if you get your medication in a timely manner.DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION IF YOU WANT TO HAVE YOUR PRESCRIPTIONS FILLED IN A TIMELY MANNER. DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION IF YOU HAVE ANY SUBSTANTIVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE DRUGS YOU ARE TAKING.

I called from home and they said my prescriptions were ready for pick up. I ran over to the pharmacy and they had the gates pulled down. I waited for 15 min and no one said a word to me. Customer service stinks!

Pharmacy is terrible and getting worse. Pharmacist (female, reddish-blonde hair) is very rude and acts like she resents customers. She's completely inefficient and always rushing without finishing anything, looking lost and confused. She speaks rudely about customers in a loud voice that customers can hear. The techs are rude and walk away without acknowledging you after they've started your pick-up. A typical visit: I waited 20+ minutes because my Rx wasn't ready even though I'd gotten the call that it was. Then they told me insurance covers only half what I normally get. When I corrected them (because I've picked this up multiple times) they said they only had half the amount and it would take 24 hours before they could fill the full amount.

Is this place a joke? The staff overall are rude, especially the pharmacy employees. Tried to buy my medicine but one of the employees told me my insurance didn't cover for it and gave me an attitude. It was only after a couple of minutes that another employee had checked to find out that my insurance did cover for my medicine, and that they almost made me pay for no reason. Time to find another CVS area because this ain't it.

Four or five years ago, a pharmacist here refused to fill a prescription from my son's psychiatrist. The insurance company wouldn't pay because they said it was too soon to refill. Because we were headed out of town, I offered to pay cash. The pharmacist still refused. I went to Rite Aid and have never been back. I recommend Rite Aid on Baltimore Ave. It's cleaner and more attactive, wait times are shorter, and the pharmacists are friendlier.

I just left the store very frustrated. The lady was taking down all the sale signs which made it hard to find the items in today's paper. I asked for help twice. I was told by the guy tending to the pharmacy that Sat. are bad days to shop. They told me that the Nov. 22-24th sale ends at 4p. They finally figured it out after I complained. I can't imagine how many people have encounterd this problem today or paid full price. Hopefully corp. is reading these comments because they'll soon be the next store going out of bus. This is the 2nd incidence with a CVS this mth. I'm no longer supporting this establishment.

So to start off.. I came into this location seeking help on what to do with my forehead due to a tan I got while in VA beach. I had wore a bandana across my forehead while at the beach and received a suntan in the wrong spots everywhere but my forehead. My eyes down was way darker than my forehead. I was devastated and didn't know what to do because my job is really picky on appearance and I couldn't go to work looking like this.Jackelyn, was amazing! Her customer service was top notch. She saw me walking around while at the register helping another customer and asked did I need some help. I said absolutely lol. I showed her my forehead and we both was in a wow moment. Jackelyn, stepped off from the register when there were no more customers insite to assist me on the floor. While using her knowledge on make-up and different tanning options. Nothing seem to match my skin color, but she continued to help me out.Later, after sampling almost everything we could think of in the store. We found a foundation to help blend the color of my skin, but I wasn't convinced. She then said well we have headbands. That may work. So I ended up with that. I appreciate excellent customer service and your staff member Jackelyn deserves a trophy, a raise and or promotion for going above and beyond. Thank you!!!

Absolute worst pharmacy ever. No communication. Will never be back . I need to know I'll have my meds when I need then not a headache and a hassle. How do you have someones blood pressure meds on back order and don't mention it to you.
