Love this place! Awesome selection of dog bones and dog supplies, bird food and bird houses, terrific supply of gardening needs. And as a personal touch, they even sell candles and greeting cards. Even had a craft class yesterday making a small terrarium!!! Wonderful staff.

Good, local business. Been going here for years for our farmette needs. Yard staff are always helpful and the cashiers are friendly. My favorite part is their unique selection of natural dogs treats, really sets this place apart from the big box pet stores.

The Mill of Hampstead offered the community an opportunity to make a homemade chicken scratch treat for chickens. I'd never done anything like this, so I was quite excited. I had a very pleasant and wonderful experience. Chelsea was very knowledgeable regarding the nutritional value and benefits of all the ingredients of the scratch. I can't wait for their next class offering! Support local establishments!

My first experience with this business was better than the most recent!My first time, Hampstead didn't have the dog food we needed [we were out] & we couldn't wait for their delivery the next day. Drove all the way to Bel Air [1 hour one way for me], got what I needed.Called Hampstead this week [since we aren't OUT of food, I could handle waiting until the next day to pick it up], was told they could have it the next day, they'd call when it arrived. No call. So, Wednesday morning I call, to ask if it's there & Mike was quite snarky with his remarks. "They got too busy to call" - right...because it takes too long to make a simple phone call!At this rate, I'd rather drive to Bel Air, at least they treat their customers right!

The workers are extremely kind and very helpful. They go above and beyond to help you. Some things are pricey, but they really give you that country, Hampstead warm family friendly feeling. Great first visit.

This is my first time going to this place and the 2 ladies working at the front desk were very helpful. They are really busy but help me to get more egg boxes from the back. I highly recommend this place...

Always a pleasure to go intto the store. All the employees are friendly and helpful. I've never had a bad experience.I buy my horse and chicken feed there. I also bought a beautiful red rose bush recently to add to my daughter's memory garden

I shop at The Mill of Hampstead all the time and find the young adults that work there to be extremely friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. I have never had a bad experience there and would recommend The Mill to anyone. I've purchased everything from candles, honey, and BBQ sauce to hay, straw, and animal feed. And I love the small town atmosphere this little store has.

They do not carry a decent selection of chicken feed. I would purchase weekly in bulk if they did. I love to support small business, but when they don't offer what I need, I have to go elsewhere, as I am not going to feed my flock what I consider subpar feed.

Love this place! They have all the supplies I need for my chickens, as well as plants and associated supplies, items for horses, wild birds, just lots of great stuff, and everyone there is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Great place and so nice to have so close to home.

I only gave 3 stars because of the positive experience i received from the kid in the lot getting my straw and I relayed that to him. I walked into the store and felt like i disturbed a teenage pow wow. No one greeted me, in fact i said hello first and heard nothing back. The boy at the register only said the guy outside will show where to get your straw..thats it, no thank you have a great day or anything. I also walked out with a stinky hand due to a dog that lives there but hardly gets bathed. I love dogs, have 2 of my own but would keep it clean if it was greeting customers. Been here about 4 times and never felt my business was appreciated, this last experience sealed the deal!

Since They are not wheelchair accessible. All I do is call when arrive...they known bnb. situation..... they come out to my van get my order and card to process the order.Then I back up to Loading dock and hand my receipt to a friendly worker.He then pulls your order Places the items in your vehicle were you specify.Seriously can't get Much easier than this.They have the cheapest prices for quality product and you interact with nice friendly people.Dennis Bozzell

You won't find a store like this in the city. It serves the agricultural businesses and local residents of southern Carroll and northern Baltimore County. You will share the parking lot with huge tractors and cultivators. Although the entire opperation's area is massive, the store itself is a modest affair. It is filled with smaller items needed by their customers such as chicken waterers, halters for horse, over-the-counter veterinary medicine. In the spring, peeps and ducklings arrive with each week bringing different breeds most of which are layers. You can get chicks that will eventually lay white, brown, tan, green or blue eggs. But it's the people who work here that make this such a valued part of the community. When buying feed, I can just ask for the same as I got last time and they will look up my account and I'll get just what I need. I can get feed specially formulated for layers or meat producing birds, in either crumble or pellets with or without medication and they will load it into my car or truck with me even asking for help. But, I am not the sort of customers who keeps them in business. They sell seed by the ton for the farmers who grow hay, corn, soybeans and other crops, and feed for horses and other large animals. Still, I am always greeted with a smile.

A small store that is serving a very critical need in this area... It does seem like the inventory of stuff is a bit unfocused, but I completely understand the need. A little bit of everything helps those folks, like me, who drop by for one thing and realize, darn, I need that one other thing that is... right there on the shelf!In spring, there is a well advertised list of fowl if you're looking to expand your flock. The chicks are well tended and the holding pens are always clean and never smell of anything other than shavings.Everyone has always been friendly and very helpful. If you come here knowing what you need you might just walk away with something that you want. A major positive to me!
