I really enjoy outings in this location. We visit this location a few times a month when my two year old granddaughter wants to visit her furry friends. It's near Target, Valley Mall, Olive Garden, and Starbucks. It's a great location to get everything done quickly. She loves to visit the parakeets, guinea pigs, and hamsters. This location has been a great source of aquarium supplies and fish. I have found almost all of my interactions to be positive with the employees here. There is food for just about every critter here including fresh dog food, live crickets and mealworms. Healthy fresh aquarium plants are usually in great supply. Great selection of fresh and saltwater fish and shrimp and snails. Grooming station is available with appointments. We have been bringing our dog Ajax here regularly for nail clip, bath, and other services for several years. They also have a per pound selection of dog treats available as well as plenty of toys, beds and other supplies. There is also cat litter and multiple brands of cat and dog food sold here. Give this location a try.

I went in this morning looking for a specific brand of wet cat food. I searched the isles without any luck so finally I asked an employee. This young man had the best customer service skills as anyone I have encountered in a long long time. After looking around he with the help of another employee located a case that was in the storage room because is was discontinued. Gave me a great deal. Very impressed with the service I received

Enjoyed visit here, the place is more clean when we visited today unlike what I've read from other's reviews. We've been looking for common pleco and they don't have yet, and heater for 10 Gallons, we will definitely back when they have stock. But overall the place is pretty good though, they might have some out of stock, but you can call them before visiting or in their site or whatever. The fishes in aquarium are really pretty taken care of and talk to one of staff there that so friendly help us answer our question about fish and stuff we wanted to know.

Was there to pick up an order I placed online.I was about 4th in line, and observed the cashier being very courteous to everyone she checked out.She was the same with me:Greeted me, got my order for me, and as I left told me to have a nice day and drive safe.Not everyone is polite these days to customers, and it stands out when someone is.

5/5 was told my grooming appointment for the following day would be cancelled. Spoke with a manager as this is the second time in one month that my appointment has been cancelled by the store, he assured me a store manager would call when he arrived in the next hour. No call of course. Would not recommend at all

This place has absolutely zero idea how to care for reptiles. Both their ball python enclosures had incorrect substrate types. One of their temps was in the low 90s (whole enclosure, no cool spot) and 35% humidity. Poor babe had stuck shed and eye caps because their humidity is so wrong. The other poor ball python that they’re charging $399 for was stuck in a tiny enclosure that was 105 degrees and 30% humidity. They’re literally killing that snake. It was stuck in the corner trying to get away from the heat as much as possible. Snakes don’t hide in the light. It was the snakes only option. If someone buys that snake it’ll be dead within a few weeks. The geckos humidity was too low. Temps are all over the place. This is disgusting and cruel. I’m absolutely reporting this. Sickening. I went in to buy some substrate but I won’t give that place a penny of my money.

I took my 7 month old puppy here, and Heather did an awesome job giving him a thorough grooming. My puppy smelled so good. Moreover, the price was only $56 in comparison to PetSmart $70 which did a horrible job. I took him to PetSmart and the service there was horrible. That's why I went to Petco. I recommend Petco if you want a great grooming for a reasonable price.

People talk about helping but this place is better than that. My fish tank cracked and I had some very nice saltwater fish and they took them in for me. Told me I can come back and get them if I start a new tank up. Wow what Great people !!

I take my long-haired cat, Vivian, to Deanna. She’s amazing and so patient. Deanna is knowledgeable, flexible and ensures you get what you want done for your cat. My little girl always leaves there looking beautiful and silky!

My go to place for lizard food. Mealworms, superworms & crickets. I got my 1st freshwater shrimp there. They completely redid all the aquariums in the store last year. It looks much better. We buy most all our fish there

They treat the animals very poorly. I came in and saw their Beta wall, several fish were deceased and some were decomposing. My fiance and I were just there for some dog food & when we alerted management about the deceased fish they responded with “oh yeah someone will grab them in a minute”. We continued shopping for 20 minutes, maybe longer, and when we got to check out we saw the fish were still there. We left the dog food at the counter and went to tractor supply for the food instead.

We found most of the items we needed to get but the state of the Hagersstown, MD store is sad. It's hard to get through the aisles due to the clutter, the boxes in the aisles etc. It certainly doesn't inspire confidence in Petco. This is not the first time we have seen the store in such a state, and from conversations with families in other states, it just seems to be a "thing" with Petco stores all over.

Very rude staff. Did not know where to park to pickup my order as there is no designated spot for curbside orders. So I parked in a parking spot that was the closest to the door. Literally in a parking spot that was straight across from the entrance doors.The blonde old lady was very rude. She didn’t even greet me or had a good demeanor. She also only brought one item out of 15 items I ordered. Told me very rudely to go inside to pickup the rest. Then proceeded to walk away from me fast.I understand that Petco may be busy and understaffed. But it doesnt mean employees should be rude to customers. It just makes customers not want to go or shop from there anymore. It doesnt not hurt to be nice and friendly to custoemrs.The old blonde lady from 1800s needs to be fired or get a job that is not in customer service as retail is definitely not for her. Hope she reads this and realizes how terrible of an employee she is.

This store never has what I need. There's always some excuse as to why they won't bag up crickets for me. Their pre-bagged/boxed live insects are always half dead. For the exuberant price they slap on these bugs, I at least expect them to be alive. The store is dirty and stock is everywhere. It's hard to find an employee. I won't be back. The store in Chambersburg is just about as bad. I'll just stick with PetSmart.

the animals cages were extremely dirty and had half dead animals laying in the cages. very unclean 🤢 the employees don't want to do their jobs. and to mention there was a chameleon walking on the floor of its enclosure...also not okay.

As far as Petcos go, it's ok. Usually it seems overstocked and there are usually boxes, dollies and trash everywhere so navigating the aisles can be interesting. They usually have the pet supplies when you need them. The pets we've purchased here over several years live well but some have needed immediate pricey veterinary intervention to save, but we knew that when we made those purchases and we feel our funds were well spent on those lives. We most recently purchased clown fish (pictured) they're doing fantastic and came to us healthy (we quarantined etc due to their massive bacteria growth) - although I don't think the person that netted them for us had ever worked with fish before due to his aggressive manner 🤦‍♀️.A few years ago I caught a budgie in the parking lot and they told me that they wouldn't take it because the band number didn't match their stock - which was weird but it's ok, we took care of the baby for several lovely years.

While my wife was at a Dr. appt. I brought our son to Hagerstown Petco to look at animals. While there were some pets that they didn't have that day, he still enjoyed it. Nice staff, store looked clean and pets looked well cared for. The cats they have for adoption are from Lucky's Legacy. We adopted 2 dogs from Lucky's Legacy last year and know they love animals.

I always go to this pet store and the cashiers are always nice and polite. Well tonight the guy that was at the cash register didn’t even speak or respond to me when I spoke to him and I spoke to him twice. After he rung up my stuff and I was heading towards the door, the cashier spoke to the customer behind me. Rude and unprofessional. If your cashiers know better they will do better.

We went in search of a saltwater tank and various equipment for such. Mike was amazingly helpful and super friendly. All of the staff was. The store itself was a little messy with stock carts out of place, but that's the only negative thing I can say. The shelves were neat, and stock was plentiful. I used to be a PetSmart consumer, but I'll definitely be a return shopper. The service was top notch!

I stopped in to buy a couple of fish aquariums and some air pumps. They had a lot in stock. They have a lot of different fish. Pet supplies of all kinds. Definitely would go back. Service was excellent. Store was very well kept in neat and clean. If you need pet supplies, fish supplies, bird supplies, stop and check them out

Went to get mt dog groomed!The staff eas super friendly and explained everything. My dog came out adorable and way cleaner and since he didn't wanna sit for a nail buff they kindly didn't charge obviously! So far they seem trust worthy and Amanda did an amazing job ❤

I took my 4 month old mini schnauzer for grooming. When they called me to remind me of the appointment, they told me their system overbooked that day and asked me to bring him an hour earlier. He was fine when I left him but then they called me an hour later and said he was "having a panic attack". They refused to continue grooming. When I arrived I could hear him yapping in the back but he was fine when they brought him out. Groomer said he was wriggling and almost hanged himself and that he bit at her. This puppy has never shown any sign of aggression nor anxiety beyond the normal puppy whining when you separate him from his owner (I honestly thought that'd be the worst of it for them). I've bathed him myself and he just stands there. It's conjecture on my part, but i think they tried to do it quickly, scared him, and when he didnt prove to be an angel, they stopped because they're overbooked and didn't want to take the time or patience to groom a puppy. They charged me for bathing him and had the audacity to try to upsell training classes. They shaved his back and nothing else. He looks terrible but doesn't seem upset at all. I shouldn't have paid for the bath. I won't be going back for any reason and I caution anyone who considers sending their pets here.
