My family and I love Safeway but not this location. We shoppedhere weekly for around 2 years and switched to Giant because ofthe management. I returned this afternoon to grab our weekly groceries and was treated very rudely by the Manager herself. I needed a lane opened because we had to many groceries for self checkout. She huffed at me and did not even respond. Walked off and left us waiting for another employee to come and assist. Then as we leave she is out front smoking a cigarette. Classy...P.S. Most disgusting men's room ever. Never been in there when it was cleaned.

The store is what you would expect from a suburban location, but I'm going to talk about the café and the lack of training in the Starbucks. I was sold the display loafs from the glass case. I mentioned they the loads are usually sold in the plastic wrapping bit that was ignored. I didn't eat it because it was so dry and clearly not fit for humans to consume. I should have walked the extra 15 paces to the actual Starbucks outside the store. I went to another location today and ordered the same thing, but that location actually gave me the loaf in the original wrapping. I'm lucky I don't have serious food poisoning and that my daughter isn't sick or hospitalized from eating the other item I got there. Stupid on my part. Wasn't sure in the moment. If we do get sick in the next 36 hours I'll know why.Fun update: we have all been having serious digestive problems nothing taking us to the hospital at this point. Maybe we should have the primary care run some tests.

Deli pretends that they are closed.It happened to me more times than I can recall the deli section is dark and it seems like it is closed. It is managed by people who really don't want to serve customers. The light is off to make an impression that it is closed so no one comes to bother the staff. If you don't want to work, why don't you get another job. And the management: don't you want people to buy more? Isn't that the whole idea why your store is open? Why is that you create an impression that the section is closed if it is still a time it should be opened? I am talking about the time before 8PM. Not sure if anyone cares in this store and hopefully someone in charge will read this review to make necessary changes. Also, it would be actually good for customers, if the deli section stays open for longer than 8PM.

I went there yesterday , cashier was a African American lady , I was just wanted to ask her a question about Safeway app coupon she was not busy at all at that time I was the only one customer there , she didn’t want to help not let me finish my question and send me to customer service and had bad attitude and rude , she was the only cashier there.Safeway made their digital coupons so difficult for customers , I clipped asparagus coupon in my app account but didn’t work the manager said there are different asparagus but I only saw one and marked price same as coupon . I will not go to Safeway anymore because there are so many grocery stores no coupons needed , much fresher and cheaper , and good customer service!

Needed to return something in the morning in order to take care of other errands but you apparently can't do returns before 9 am. That's beyond ridiculous & just incredibly inconvenient for any customers. Knowing I was in a pinch,the presumed front end manager refused to let me return it eventhough, they, being management would do it through a checkout station.

Used to be a good location. Currently has almost no carts as shown in picture and selection has dwindled over the last couple years. Not looking for strange things, the only cheese that they have that isn't pre shredded is cheddar expect the deli cheeses and they have been out of garlic twice in the last month. Will avoid in the future.

Update 2-26-24: this Safeway is one of the best ones around now! Total 180 from the last couple years. The management is nicer, the staff / customer service is much better and I would give five stars if the men's bathroom ever does not smell and look disgusting.Awful staff, decent prices sometimes and I never leave here feeling as good as I did when I walked in. The pharmacy is the best part of this Safeway. They are great. I just wish the manager lady actually gave a hoot, she's as nasty as her cashiers... Giant is preferred at least there I get greeted by that nice tall brotha and I be feel better when I leave than when I walked in ..

Not impressed with this Safeway. When I was looking at the ground beef a giant bug flew out from under one of the containers. When I was trying to get frozen green beans out of the fridge, the bag was spilling them all over the floor. The store is very confusing to find what you are looking for.To add to everything else, when I go to checkout there is only 1 register open. And the one employee they had scanning was moving very slow and talking to customers way too much. So much of a line was forming that they had to open another register. Even with the coupons and member discount my bill was over $250 and I still hadn’t gotten everything on my list due to the store not having it. I’m going to stick to shopping at Giant.

This store should be closed down! The Pharmacy is the only good thing about today. The manager is rude and nasty. They can see you standing at the customer service counter and do not come out to help the customers. The wait time is 20/30 minutes sometimes. They do racially profile their black customers. I know there are thefts there I’ve seen it with my own eyes but that doesn’t give you the right to profile anybody unless given a reason to. The bathrooms are deplorable!!! The store doesn’t feel secure and there is a lot of loitering out front. Terrible customer service. This store has gone down hill severely. I will be transferring my prescription to a new pharmacy. It’s not worth it.

I've been shopping at this Safeway ever since the Fox Chapel Giant closed. I really like the butcher/seafood counter. The gas rewards are nice. Every person in the store is very helpful.Update... I've moved and don't visit this location as often. My wife and I went shopping there recently and the store is still very clean, deli and butcher counter well stocked. Very friendly and helpful staff.

This store is always clean and well stocked. I buy my fish here because it's the only local market that I feel has fresh fish. The meat dept however could use an overhaul. I often find old and rotten looking meat in the cases.

Safeway needs to take a lesson from Giant Food Pharmacy. Tried to get a flu shot as a walk in at Safeway and was told I had to wait in a room for one hour while waiting for my shot. People aren't going to take this. I couldn't even shop for groceries. Well I went over to Giant and was taken right away.

My friends and I are African American. We were racially profiled by the manager. I transferred my prescription to this location. I was waiting for my prescription to be filled and we were walking around the store waiting for my prescription to be filled. The police were called as I was waiting. I am appalled at the way we were treated. I will not be shopping here any longer. I will be transferring my prescription to Giant to avoid this from happening to my friends and I in the future.

Our nearest location is always clean, well stocked, and filled with employees who are helpful. On some days, finding carts are harder than others because the location is so busy, but the shopping experience makes up for everything else.

5-7-2023update. Ahilya asked my son as he finished scanning crackers in self check out if he is going to pay as he was inserting my card. I initially thought it must be a predator as no sane person pops in your face from nowhere as you are paying. I of course was on whatsapp video. Put a White's only sign up. Odious employees harassing a shopper because he is a Black boy. As the manager just stated to me"we have lot of teens stealing." That has nothing to do with the employees disturbing behavior, nor other shoppers. This is an edit as I can not put a new review. (Next para/post was one month ago). Staff has drastically decided Customer service is not necessary. Rebecca continues to treat my son as if he is a nuisance/criminal. Rebecca just now(within 5min) told my son he can not put in his phone number&the cheese he was purchasing is "$3 99." He put in my phone number(he is a minor)&wow, it is $3.00 as I knew. Why would Rebecca tell my son he doesn't need to put in his number? You are creating the issues supporting your employees horrible service&it is obvious. When the store opened around 2000, it was immaculate. I've bought popcorn that mice chewed through, thankfully we noticed prior to leaving the store. Do better. Despicable

Great customer service and good spot for lunch. I love the Tuesday soup jambalaya which is warm and spicy. The pot pies are great but a bit too salty. Deli hits the spot.

Be aware of the dairy n meat products. I have made purchases twice n I noticed they're to expire the next day. Also, it seems that I'm not the only customer that posted the same review about this concern.

One star is TOOOOOO generous! Clean your toilets guys! No matter how "clean" your store is, one place that should be spotless is the restrooms you expose the public and employees to. Your employees and customers use them for goodness sake. Hygiene should mean something to you given that you SELL FOOD and MEDICINES. Your employees handle raw food all day. Hire someone or hire a cleaning service - you can afford it!

i.'m a senior recovering from back surgery. 2 weeks ago i go in to shop and there are no shopping carts.i was informed by staff that carts were removed in order to prevent shoplifting?? i've been a safeway customer for years but i gotta go somewhere else now.why INCOVENIENCE AND LOSE CUSTOMERS with such a bad management decision.i've endured the filthy stink restroom for years but this place needs NEW MANAGEMENT ASAP. btw i went in last week and again no carts. awful customer service.i'm sorry, its disrespectful to me as a person and PAYING CUSTOMER. no mas

Most of the time, I have no problem with this place, it's nice for the most part and most of the employees are good.However, I recently had one bad experience: After I had made my purchase and headed out the door, an employee harangued me and accused me of being a thief. After I proved I wasn't by showing my receipt, they let me go, and I didn't even get so much as an apology. I do not appreciate, as a legitimate customer, being wrongly accused of being a thief, and not even having the common courtesy of getting an apology.If it weren't for that one bad experience, I'd give this place a 5-star rating.

The oversized lady with the brown hair with the hairstyle out of the 80’s is racist. BEWARE!!!! Anytime she see’s black women in the store she calls for Safeways “FAKE SECURITY SCAN”… or she screams “SECURITY SCAN AISLES” I used to work at Safeway and I know this is a deterrent used to scare shoplifters…If you can afford Security you should be able to afford more employees so that the majority of shoppers don’t have to use self check out!She’s always at self check out, she doesn’t pay out lottery due to “lack of cash”, she is extremely petty and unpleasant. She’s always in your face. She’s some kind of morning manager who gets off at 1:00 pm. She does not like black people and this location is clearly discriminatory and racist. Please take note of your employees unprofessional behavior and realize that it’s 2022!

My go to! They have a decent selection of all things. I haven't had any bad produce and I love their fresh meats. The butcher is great! He'll even mark an item with a sale price if you miss the sale! The pharmacy employees are really really nice and personable. No need to go anywhere else.

The bakery is decent. The produce department is just okay. The store is clean and well lit and the isles are fairly well marked. The night staff leaves a little something to be desired but I'll admit there have been improvements in recent months. I also like the convenient hours.

Went to this store on May 13, 2022 to go grocery shopping and bought chicken wings, which I thought were fresh and were spoil and out-dated which i did not know until I got so sick and weak for 3 days. I will never go back to this store. Customer's please check your meats and dates.
